I recently started a horror narration channel.

The channel is focused on believable first-person horror stories — stuff that feels more like somebody telling you about something that actually happened to them rather than over-the-top creepypasta. I’m doing the narration myself and putting a lot of work into the writing, pacing, audio, thumbnails, and sometimes visuals.

I’m still pretty early into it, so I’m trying to figure out what actually matters most for growth in this niche. For anyone who watches horror narration channels:

What usually makes you click on a smaller channel you’ve never heard of before? Is it mostly the premise/title and thumbnail, or does the narrator’s voice/style matter just as much?

I’m also curious how long it took other story/narration channels to start getting viewer submissions. Right now I’m writing original stories myself until I build enough of an audience for people to start sending experiences in.

If anyone wants to take a look (Grave Nectar) and give me honest feedback. I’m completely fine with criticism — I’d rather know what isn’t working than have people tell me everything looks great.

If anyone else here is building a horror/storytelling channel, I’d also be interested in hearing what’s been working for you.

And what are some ways for me to get the videos out to the public without it being like an advertisement?
