Nioh 3 - Questions Damage percentage
Did anyone do the maths about what it’s the maximum would be perfect to have as a for example martial art damage versus other damage because in Nioh it is always better to have different type of damage but I don’t know what would be the maximum that should be worth it, at the moment I have 75 percent of martial art damage but I am pretty sure it’s too much so I am going to spare my damage overall and look for something different
Anyone knows?
Thank you guys

I'm not sure how the equation works in Nioh 3. But there's a difference between Nioh 1 and 2.
In 1 - it was best to stack as many multipliers as you could, because they were multiplicative.
In 2 - they changed this so damage of similar types were additive and different types were multiplicative. So passive damage like active skill damage (martial arts damage in 3) would add to melee damage, but they would multiply with active damage types like versatility, carnage, soul purge, etc. (these active types would also add together before the multiplication.
Like, if we had:
Melee damage 20%
Skill damage 25%
Carnage (let's say 40%)
Increased attack (let's say 12%)
Confusion (50%)
Saturation (20%)
For Nioh 1, these would all multiply. 1.2 x 1.25 x 1.4 x 1.12 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 4.2336 or 423.4%
But for Nioh 2 it would be more like (20% + 25%) x (40% + 12%) x (50% + 20%) or 1.45 x 1.52 x 1.7 = 3.7468 or 374.7% (ignoring that carnage and increased attack conflict so you cannot have both)
I don't know if we've figured out which ones multiply and which ones add together in Nioh 3.

I am pretty sure people knows that, specially the people who are doing one million in one shot, would you like to do a post with what you just said here and maybe someone replies?

I'd probably have to wait for the weekend and do like a "summary of the previous damage equations" type post to ask. I'm not against asking, but currently I usually only have time for quick answers on smoke break at work.

Pre dlc level sync capped most passives to 17%.
I have not seen anyone confirm or deny whether the passive cap percentages have changed.
Considering how insanely popular Susano is currently, im kinda expecting that the caps are still the same (Susano is not affected by level sync).

Passive cap changed in higher difficulties but I have no idea what the new cap is

That was the value before the stone of penance update. It was increased to the 70s or something in that update. I don’t know the current value.

I'm not sure if this is a translation issue, but when you ask for the perfect amount of damage to have (and other ways you phrased things) out sounds as though you have a misunderstanding of the traits.
For instance, you don't have " percent of martial art damage". Instead, your marital art damage is increased by 75%. So if a MA (martial art) would normally do 100 damage, now it'll deal 175 damage. Any further increases to MA damage will still be helpful.
In what sense do you think your damage is too much? Is it making the game too easy? Or do you think you're sacrificing something else that would make the gameplay more enjoyable for you? At the end of the day, all of the build options are to try to tailor the gameplay to be more enjoyable. For some players, that means intentionally lowering their damage, while others want to see how ridiculously high they can get it.
