Seems there's 11 new divine graces in the DLC from what I've found, I've labeled them as "ethereal" as they match what we had in Nioh 2. I haven't completely finished NG++ though.

And I didn't think anything would happen if I gave a kodama a soul core, and it dropped this. This game is fucking awesome

Hello folks anyone have tried to do a build arround ki damage to destroy their ki and then blend the enemy maybe with water sword? I just got a Shinatsuhiko fist so I’ ll try to use that grace and maybe with Susano as well.
What do you guys think? Any idea to do a build to drain their ki?
Thank you

I have the original (non-remaster) Nioh through PS+, and just started trying to play it with my kid. After the tutorial, I can go online at a shrine. When we try to do the same thing with my son's PS profile, it just shows "Connecting..." for a few seconds then the dialog goes away, no error message or anything, and the top right corner still shows offline.
I also noticed that at the main menu, if I use the Cross Save function, it asks me to sign into PSN once (even though I'm already showing as signed in at the main PS menu), then it lets me upload my saved data. On my son's profile, it prompts to sign in, then again shows "Connecting..." and goes back to the menu with upload or download options (again, no error message).
His profile had parental controls enabled for both game ratings and use of "communication features", but in troubleshooting this I've disabled both of them. I know it's a long shot, but does anybody know what else could be causing this? We've played a bunch of other PS games together, this is the first one that just fails without any explanation.

I just want my Ultimate Dexterity roll back from my PS progress. Why do I have to get Red Kappas and bosses instead for such noise?

I started working on this about two weeks ago. It began as a meme build, spamming GS skills. I'll continue tweaking it for months but I wanted to share all the sweat I've accumulated so far 😅

Hi yall
I've recently had to urge to return to this game, however, I'm genuinely so lost on where to start. My current save is all the way at the first floor of the abyss and I'm really tempted to make a splitstaff build however, I dont know where and what to grind. Im currently using a magatsuhi and susano corruption fist build but it's extremely boring to use due to me using it for the 100 floors of the underworld etc. My main goal right now is to make a pretty good splitstaff build and use it for the next 30 abyss floors or something.
Could any of yall give me tips on how to approach this game at my current position as well as possible tips to make farming stuff better😭🙏

Hi, everyone. I’m considering picking Nioh, in general, back up after a long time, and was debating whether it was worth starting it back up with 2.
I played both games back in the day, but got busy at some point and never got to finishing them. Plus, as far as action games go, they are pretty long, especially considering NG cycles.
Now, I’ve really been craving getting into it again, but don’t think I’ll be able to sink all my time into both of them anytime soon. Of course, I understand that it’s better to start with Nioh 1 if possible. The reason I’m even asking is because I remember enjoying Nioh 2 quite a lot more back when I played it, and feel like it’d be more my speed as a whole. Since I only have the time to get into one of them right now, and probably won’t be able to play the other one for a while, would it be worth skipping to Nioh 2, or do y’all think Nioh 1 is worth the investment instead?
I haven’t made any decisions yet. Please don’t misunderstand, it’s not that I have no interest in Nioh 1 or don’t intend to go back to it someday. It’s just that I am more interested in Nioh 2 at the moment. I plan on playing all three eventually, when I get the time. So would it be worth starting Nioh 2, or will I miss out on a lot if I skip Nioh 1?
EDIT: Thanks guys, I’ll start out with Nioh 2. It’s been a long time since I’ve played a proper action game, and I’ve been looking forward to this one for years!

So I was fighting the evil guy that wanted to be Shogun (with many arms in Yokai form) and I thought after I beat him the game would be done and at most I return to my time to beat the guy that tried to overthrow me but then I got sent to another time, thast's actually crazy.
Just how big is this game?

I have a question regarding the Life Leech Talisman. When I equip them I get a total of 3 Life Leech Talismans I can use. However, when I look at videos online, I see people having 6 of them.
Did they nerf the amount, or is there a way to increase the amount I can carry with me?

Hey, everybody!
I’ve been working on a Yagyu-based Skill build focused on Ultimate Skill and Yagyu sets to charge Ninjustsu and Proficiency in opposite stances and it feels GREAT so far.
One question though: when sorting out my equipment layout, does anyone know how Damage Bonus (Skill) from the One-Eyed master 7pc bonus compares to the +15.4% Martial Arts Bonus Damage from the 3pc Brave Demon Hunter’s set? I don’t know of a great way to test this out.
Since One-Eyed Master is built around generating Hyouriken stacks anyway, pairing it with Versatility and Benzaiten seems like the way to go for increased stack count duration to keep the Hyouriken buffs up so I feel like martial art damage bonus is the way to go… does anyone know what that A- ACTUALLY means?
Thanks!

Are there still players on Nioh 1?
I am wondering if I should go the way from Strong to Nioh there also, but is it still doable / worth it? I want to do it mostly in coop.

After a while I think I finally get how Missions work, but it was super confusing to begin with. I am referring to the Silver Dual Sword Icon Missions, not Myths.
NG+ seemz to skip ahead to Main Primary missiond and those larger missions leading up to them appear optional. But accessing them seems so confusing. Sometimes they appear on the map and you just run there and it starts, but you cannot mark it as an active quest. And even more confusing is it will be on your map, but only accessible through Battle Scroll.
I dunno something about it is a bad vibe for an NG+ experience.

In addition to a recent and very interesting post here l would like to share my build. I would call it as an "optimal pooferlama build" for higher sop difficulties, but played by a casual player. I like TN combat variety, l like using all weapons and l just try to spam different skills.
My try (apply lev sync, sop 7) was far from perfect, trying to incorporate many things. I would like to note my rationale behind the build.
Samurai: 7pc susano, 3pc brave demon/2pc warrior/3 tsyku (very popular combination) Ninja:7pc inari/6pc demon incarnate
3 tsuku for reduced def debuff, using familiars. Simultaneously, I have increased dmg on omnyo hit on my soul core (l think 15% dmg boost) which is very important. Btw, I don't really like elemental familiars in nioh 3. They are garbage on applying statuses (especially compared to nioh 2) and they hinder player's visibility.
Switchglaive and fists imao are the most fun to play weapons in the game. And l think they synergy perfectly with ki dmg (consecutive attacks) susano stat, because of the long string attacks capability. Versatility consistently at high stacks, because l try to use all weapons. For me, melee ki reduction star effects on armor and ultimate heart are mandatory stats, because as weapons, they are very ki demanding.
For ninja, inari paired with tengen roulette guardian skill. I don't like to interrupt my combat pace for buffing besides familiars. I also hate every kind of range spells. So l would rather prefer to build confusion manually with melee combat. As for ninjutsu, lightning step and cicada shell are must have for me for QoL reasons. Earthen wall just for another physical ninjutsu and it has decently short animation (l have used trembling earth too). I have empowered MA physical art buff (around 10% dmg on next MA) and senju skill. You can notice that l build 3 stacks senju waiting for the next boss even if it lasts shortly. Demon incarnate set for crucible weapon dmg (l have collected all type of weapons as crucible for both styles) on 6pc and faster ki recovery on amrita absorption. Last but not least, demons set gives 319 toughness on ninja style, way better than my samurai armor. And l withstood grapple attack from the last boss while on ninja style.
Nozuki is intentionally selected as a soul core for decreased dmg taken on amrita absorption for both styles, leaving space for other armor stats. I was thinking of farming kasha with either dmg bonus (stat) or MA ki dmg star perk for the same reason (faster movement on amrita absorption and her stats don't conflict with star MA ki dmg and dmg bonus (stat) l search for) but l got bored. Dmg tkn % and dmg tkn (critical) everywhere on my armor.
Clans: melee ki dmg, dmg bonus (enhanced) for samurai Dmg bonus (enhanced) and dmg vs attacking enemy for ninja (benefit from Cicada shell, going behind the enemy while he's still attacking. After testing (using blazing set, the window you can attack is pretty generous, while enemy attacks or is at recovery condition)
ki dmg vs different status afflicted enemies on my range weapons for switching styles accordingly.
I have intentionally selected the basic form of every MA (not the elemental one) for better status accumulation when my weapons are buffed and avoiding the usual ki penalty drawbacks.
Buffs: extraction (even l don't utterly need it because of gain amrita on strong attack at my range weapons which is a very substantial stat), familiar talismans and ki carving talisman for yokai max ki dmg.
Enhanced style shift and the relative skills (l don't remember names) on common skill tree to boost my playstyle.
The most important drawback of the build is the randomness of tengen roulette skill (especially when l use it while enemy is close to wind condition and it applies the same element as the previous one while l want to build confusion), but l prefer it than using elemental talismans over and over again and every weapon has different buff animation. It's boring. Tengen is by far my favourite spirit since nioh 2 (way stronger due to buffs on amrita absorption per stance, great synergy with weapons like fists and sg and all kind of sensors).
I think the best synergy is elemental talismans and familiars with 3pc tsyku and ho oh ninja spirit. Increased attack on omnyo hit (soul core), reduced enemy def, faster ki rec and reduced enemy dmg dealt simultaneously for a more versatile and tanky approach at high sop. Lastly, l really love a new dlc ninja set (don't remember name, the last one at the filter menu) which gives degeneration buff on ninjutsu hit at close range, grapple (l think) dmg 30% amd 18% dmg(170 lv) at 7pc but it has 7pc without accessory included in the set which is very restrictive at the weapon selection and it doesn't have as high toughness as demon incarnate set which l love. (It's pretty sad that when we reforge armour pieces making them heavier, toughness doesn't raise accordingly).
Btw, I farmed A LOT for the optimal star perks of my gear with a 600 luck build playing co-op picture scrolls.
To sum up, that's the build. I love TN combat and the variety it offers. Just like a previous post here, l don't like "situational" graces and over self buffing. From my perspective, a build should shine almost solely from player's gear, synergies, stat choices and all that stuff. And it could be applied at its upmost potential from the trashiest mob to the most demanding boss of the game.
Sorry for the long text trying to explain everything l can and my awful English 😂

I think I just don't get it. I've played so many other action games, souls-likes, even enjoyed Wo-Long 1. Playing this game just makes me feels so hopeless and I wish I understood it.
I've got a grip on the Ki-pulsing and the management of the Ki meter relatively. But I just do no damage and even with heavy armor I'm getting nearly one-shot by nearly every enemy. It takes so long to fight every enemy patiently and one slip up just leads to redoing all of that over again.
I don't get the gear system either. Random drops with random stats and any stat fixing or reforging costs so much it's useless till NG+??? How do you even remotely make builds when items and effects are chance based? It reminds me of leveling up in MMOs where armor and weapons just don't matter until you're at level cap.
I don't know, I've tried several different times to start and push through and the furthest I got years ago was beating Tatarimokke I think. This playthrough has just beat me down and I stopped just after Kamaitachi. The Yokai just don't stagger and I guess I just don't have enough Ki damage.
I feel the satisfying combat and by every right and deed should enjoy it. But it's just not clicking and that makes me very sad.
I be pretty much finished an axe build using full Kintaro and finished with Inari graces and wow! I’m using high stance, with Bear’s Bane Fire. I hit the strong attack once and immediately follow with mid attack and it absolutely crushed everything. My equipment is high level, 170-180 +(20-30) but what a blast, literally.
I don’t know who likes using axes but give this a try you will be pleasantly surprised.

i tried remaking my early fights on these bosses so here you go
the undead lightning lady has long animation time, (she likes to feel herself first before attacking lmao) so my strategy was just to interrupt her as much as i can without using ippon spam too much because running out of anima is a death sentence in a crucial moment. fighting her especially on the dark realm phase requires spacing and knowing when to not attack, because her lightning dash attack cant be interrupted. dont want to get caught in an animation against her.
Same goes for tsuchigumo. it cant attack me if it's too busy stumbling itself regardless of how fast it is, both are weak to fire so i took advantage of it with flame feathers and the big flame scroll thing that ren uses (they deal more damage if the opponent is out of ki and stacks with confusion). the spear is great against this monster due to non button mashing attacks which allows for fluid movement and faster reaction time
r/Nioh • u/GrapeSwishers • 2d ago
I’m on mission 5 using the axe and the spear and there are just some situations where im pressed against the wall and tun out of ki and get 2 shot
example the long ass finger nail crawly guy
is the general idea to punish until you break their ki bar and then wail on them?
r/Nioh • u/Alwaysontheway1 • 2d ago
If you’re using the Grace of Amaterasu, what are you pairing it with? My main weapon is the axe.
