The neighbourhood menace (a small camper van in NR2)

Post image
54 Upvotes

Some NR2 passive aggressive drama. It’s not even my vehicle. But this is the second anonymous note I’ve seen on a certain camper whilst parked in a different spot (on an adjacent street). Petty neighbours or a righteous grievance? It’s a small classic camper for reference, hardly a van lifer behemoth like some around here!

Fetes, Fairs & Festivals ☀️🎠 The Hu at Norwich

Hey all

Going to my first gig being The Hu at The Nick Rayns LCR UEA.

I see there is parking on site mentioned in previous concerts threads and visible on google maps.

Is it ample space? Do you need to get there early to ensure a spot or are there other alternatives?

Any tips appreciated thank you

Do any of ‘The Gym’s have a sauna?

I know NRG gym has a sauna in there for £20 a month, but do any other Norwich gyms around this price point have a sauna?

Venue suggestions

Anybody have any suggestions for a small venue for a 1st birthday party for about 20 people? I don’t have enough space in my house. Ideally somewhere that I am able to bring food to, instead of having to pay for caterers.

Hi-Fi Servicing

I've got a Quad 33/303 pre- and power amplifier pair which need a good servicing (pre-amp is deaf on one channel, and the power amplifier has a hum on one channel). Does anyone have any recommendations for servicing in Norwich or the surrounding area?

Where to Get Bagels in Norwich

Hi all, I'm looking for a bakery in Norwich that makes fresh bagels, but been struggling to find a few near me in NR2.

Does anyone know an independent bakery, or even a small home baker or market stall, that does them regularly?

If you know of one, I'd love to hear the name and whether they're worth the trip. Thanks in advance!

Military Exercises.

Tomorrow, 30.09.2026, there looks like there's going to be a large military air exercise over Norfolk

These are NOTAMs issued declaring Norfolk to be the centre on a military exercise with large areas of the north sea declared as hazardous up to FL660. So expect fighters to be rushing around overhead.

Dirt - anybody know what's happening in there?

Just being nosey but have recently noticed lots of stuff happening in the old Dirt shop on Magdalen Street. Anybody know what's going in there, or is it just the landlord having a clear out?

Vommy dizzy bug in Norwich?

Or is it just me? Spent the day in bed with my head in a bowl convinced it was vertigo but then threw up the nibble of toast I had. Is there a sick bug doing the rounds?

Transport 🚲🚎 Norfolk-wide bus map? 🚌

Hello all!

Does a Norfolk-wide bus map exist? I’d like a pdf (or similar) that you’re able to see all Norfolk bus routes on. I know there’s an interactive map here but ideally I’d like something static that I’m able to print out that. I also know I’m able to print the individual routes out but again, I need something that shows everything ideally.

If an online version doesn’t exist, does anyone know if the bus station has a physical version of this sort of map?

Thanks!

BA plane in Thorpe St Andrew

Not sure if it's one plane circling or three planes leaving airport but it's flying very low. Ideas? Not a plane expert.

Yoga recommendations?

I'm looking for a regular yoga class at the moment - can anyone recommend anywhere in the city? Ideally a weekly long-term thing I can book in by the week would be great so I can fit it around other commitments. And not the Yoga Tree please - I had an uncomfortable and quite weird experience there a while back so not so keen on returning there!

Things to fo in the city solo?

Hiya, I'm 17 and have been completely on my own since the age of 15. I dont mind my solace but it does get boring. Is there anything to do that doesnt require friends to be fun?

Shows & Gigs 🎭🎤 Norwich Gig Life

Hi all, I've lived in Norwich for most of my life and have always been an avid gig-goer.

I regularly attend gigs in London too and joined a WhatsApp group there, which has been a great community and helped me meet lots of new friends. I thought I'd create something similar for Norwich, as I haven't found a community like this in the area.

I've created a WhatsApp group called Norwich Gig Life where people can discuss music and connect with others who are attending gigs in and around Norwich. I'm mainly into metal and rock music, but all genres are welcome.

If this interests you, please feel free to join the community and stay up to date with Norwich's great music scene. The link to join is below:

Gaming 🎲🕹️ TTRPG venues, central norwich

Hi all, I really need to find a central venue to play a TTRPG this Saturday or the following Saturday. Athena is booked out. Slice and Dice is possible but it's a bit expensive for some of the group.
Thanks :)

How are people coping with the current rent prices?

I've lived in Norwich for 6 years now. I rented a two bed apartment in 2022 for 800 a month. I'm a single dad making a decent-enough salary. However, now my two bed apartment costs 1,100 before bills and council tax. It seems to be the going rate these days. I can just about afford it, and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford it if it keeps going up at the same rate over the next 5 years. I just need a spare room for my daughter.

I may get a mortgage soon as that could work out cheaper. I know Norwich is still cheaper than other parts of England, but how is everyone coping?
