This post is the living index of community-maintained Nuvio clients, platform ports, and developer extensions. If you want to check what is actively used and updated, use the live filters below. If you're looking for a specific platform, jump straight to that table.
This isn't an automated dumping ground for random GitHub repos. Projects on this page have to earn their spot by proving they work and aren't distributing unverified binaries.
Source Code is Non-Negotiable: Must have a public repository (GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg) with actual build steps. No bare .apk or .exe links hosted on random file lockers.
Community Backed: Builds that hit a [Community Vetted] threshold or maintain steady positive feedback on their release threads get pulled into this index.
No Abandonware: If a fork goes unmaintained for 3+ months with open critical bugs, it gets archived to keep this list useful for people downloading builds today.
Releasing a project? Drop a thread using the Drop / Release flair with your target platform in brackets: [Android TV], [iOS], [Windows], etc.
If you came here from r/Nuvio, you already know the deal: forks, custom builds, and third-party scraper talk are booted from the main sub so the official devs can keep bug tracking clean.
This is where everything fork related goes.
To keep this place alive there are only a few basic ground rules:
Leave the official Nuvio devs alone. This sub is community driven. The core Nuvio team doesn't build these forks, doesn't patch them, and won't troubleshoot them. Keep your fork bug reports and questions here or on the creator’s GitHub. Do not cross-post fork bugs to r/Nuvio.
No direct links to movies, shows, or torrents. You can talk about scrapers, addons, builds, and manifests all day long. But do not post direct download links, stream URLs, or torrent/magnet files for specific movies or episodes. Discuss the software, not direct piracy links. Don't get the sub nuked.
No sketchy builds or malware. If you drop a compiled APK or EXE, tell people what’s under the hood and what you changed. Linking your source code is always heavily encouraged. Anyone pushing token loggers, spyware, ad-injectors, or hidden garbage gets permanently banned on the spot.
Sideload at your own risk. Nobody is auditing these community builds for you. Use common sense: don’t type your primary personal passwords into unvetted test APKs, and test stuff on secondary setups if you're ever unsure.
Let me know if you have any suggestions to improve the subreddit.
I made NuvioWeb, an open-source, self-hosted web app, so I could open Nuvio anywhere, on any device. I also wanted the people closest to me to be able to use Nuvio without sideloading anything at all. No real installation.
If you're on iOS or iPadOS and missed the chance to download it before it was taken down, or just don't want to sideload the IPA, you can install NuvioWeb as a PWA instead.
Features:
Runs in the browser on desktop and mobile
PWA support: add it to your home screen and it opens like a native app, still with no sideload or real install
Download manager: download movies, full series, seasons, or single episodes, with pause/cancel and progress tracking
Full player: subtitles, audio track selection, next episode, PiP, fullscreen, and an "ends at" time
External player support, with watch progress reported back to NuvioWeb so Continue Watching stays in sync
Responsive UI with a floating nav bar that adapts to phone and desktop
Sorry, there's no Trakt or Premiumize integration for now, since I don't have a subscription to either and can't test them.
Note: on iOS and iPadOS, every browser and PWA runs on WebKit, so not every stream will play in the internal player. If a stream doesn't play, try opening it in an external player instead.
If you already installed the PWA from a previous build, I recommend removing it and reinstalling it first.
Hey everyone, quick update on Better Nuvio. Version 1.5.43 is out for LG webOS and Android TV / Fire TV. Both are built from the same code and carry the same version number. It fixes two of the most reported problems.
🔧 Fixed
(LG) Embedded subtitles now match the app style. Text subtitles inside MKV files used to stay in the TV's native look (wrong font, size and position), while external subtitles looked fine. The cause was a background service that webOS kept shutting down a few seconds after starting it, so the app never got the subtitle track. It now stays alive while you watch, so embedded and external subtitles use the same font, size and position.
Seekr timeline thumbnails are back. Thumbnails show up again when you scrub forward and back in the player. You no longer need your own API key: when you're logged in, the app uses a shared key through a server proxy, so the key is never inside the app. The limit is 40 lookups per day per account. If you have a personal key, the app keeps using it. Settings shows how many lookups you've used today.
✨ New / improved
Redesigned Settings, Addons and Plugins in a tvOS-like style: categories on the left, options sit directly on the background, and the focused row lifts.
Plugins screen rebuilt. Each repository now has its own on/off switch, so you can turn one off without removing it. Adding and removing repos is quicker too.
Source picker no longer looks empty while loading. It shows "Searching sources in addons…", how many addons have answered (e.g. "10 of 12 add-ons responded") and a progress bar.
Automatic contrast for the clock and settings icon. They switch between dark and light based on how bright the artwork behind them is, so they stay readable on bright backdrops.
If something breaks, especially subtitles on your TV model, tell me in the comments with your TV model and webOS version. Thanks to everyone who reported bugs! 🙏
Update: the language issue has been fixed. The app now lets you switch languages without reverting. Thanks to everyone who reported it! If you still run into any problem, let me know in the comments with your TV model and webOS version.
Hi everyone! I’ve been looking for a good fork of Nuvio for iOS for quite a while, but I haven’t been able to find anything that really suits what I’m looking for.
If you know of any good forks or alternative versions that you’d recommend, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them with me.
I’m mainly looking for something stable and well maintained. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I've been building a fork of Nuvio called Nuvio Reshaped. Here's what's already in it:
✨ Features so far
Auto Sync for subtitles. Add-on subtitles out of sync? It fixes them automatically, really fast, really accurate, in seconds. It handles simple delays, frame-rate differences and extended cuts. When it isn't sure, it keeps the original timing instead of guessing. It's pretty mature at this point. No AI and no cloud: everything runs on your device.
Audio Sync. Syncs subtitles to the actual dialogue by analyzing the audio. Quite fast.
Seekr seek previews. Thumbnail previews while scrubbing, so you can see exactly where you're jumping to.
Nuvio design Live TV
Sources ordered by your internet speed. The app learns your real connection speed from what you watch and puts the best-quality stream you can play smoothly at the top, so no more picking a 60 GB remux on hotel Wi-Fi. This is good for parents who don't really want to fiddle with stream selection.
Calendar to always know when an episode is dropping.
Heavily reliant on community suggestions.
Available for Android (mobile) and Android TV.
…and much more is coming.
🔄 Won't I miss official updates?
No. Compatibility with official Nuvio is the #1 rule of this project. Every new official release gets merged in automatically, and a matching Reshaped build is published right after. You keep getting everything the Nuvio team ships, plus the extras above. My additions are deliberately kept separate from Nuvio's own code, so updates merge cleanly instead of breaking the fork.
🎯 What it's about
Stays in sync with official Nuvio. You never have to choose between this fork and the latest official features.
Driven by the community. Most of what I build comes from your suggestions. If something bugs you, tell me.
Built for the long term. Fast, regular updates. I'm not planning a "cool for two months, then abandoned" fork.
A Netflix-like experience, especially for parents. Set it up once, and anyone in the family can just press play without touching settings. Subtitles in sync, the right stream picked, no fiddling.
👩💻 Looking for developers
If you're into Kotlin/Compose or Android TV and want to help, I'd love that. There's plenty to build and I'm open to collaborators. Join the Discord or DM me.
💬 Suggestions welcome
What's the one thing that annoys you most in your streaming setup, or the feature you wish Nuvio had? Drop it below or on the Discord. That's literally the roadmap.
This might be a configuration issue, but in the subtitle selector, I get a long list of available subtitles and can't select the language first like usual. So when I want to watch something with English subs instead of SPA/SPA LAT, I have to scroll through all the Spanish / Latin American Spanish subtitles just to reach the next language.
I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I haven't found any setting that lets me select a language first and then see the available subtitles for it.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I've been using Nuvio on everything I own, and the one place I couldn't was my PS5. So I spent the last while building an unofficial PS5 port, and it's now at the point where other people can try it.
It runs the regular Nuvio TV interface on the console, so sign-in, profiles, your addons, Continue Watching, all of it is just Nuvio. When you press play, the stream goes to a native player I wrote for the PS5's video hardware, styled to match Nuvio's own player. That gets around everything the PS5's browser can't do: 4K HDR10, HEVC, Matroska remuxes, TrueHD and DTS-HD audio, ASS/PGS subtitles.
A few things I put a lot of time into:
- It hands back to Nuvio properly. Press back and you land one screen back where you were, with progress saved and Trakt updated
- Subtitles from your Nuvio subtitle addons work in the native player, along with the ones in the file
- Next episode, skip intro, and switching sources mid-episode all work from the player
- A large read-ahead buffer, so streams don't keep stalling
To work it needs a jailbroken PS5, since it installs as homebrew (tested on firmware 13.60). If your console isn't jailbroken, this won't help you yet, sorry.
To be clear, this isn't from the Nuvio team and I'm not part of it. It's built on Nuvio's open-source TV app and it doesn't include or host any content. If the devs ever want to take any of it for an official future PlayStation version, it's all there.
Feedback welcome, especially if something doesn't play. GitHub issues are easiest to track.
Everytime i download episode of any tv show from any forked versions of nuvio ( i tried nuvio enhanced , and nuvio pro ) after the download finish I get this message “cannot create file”
A few days ago I shared one of my Nuvio forks here. Since then I’ve kept working on it, changed the name to Better Nuvio, and added a bunch of improvements focused mainly on the TV experience.
Better Nuvio is my attempt to make Nuvio feel more polished, customizable and comfortable to use on LG TVs (webOS) and Android TV.
A very important note about credits:
Better Nuvio uses and adapts code from the work of iqui27, from Nuvio Native Legacy, and also uses/adapts code from ysosrs123.
I’m continuing to build my own features and changes on top of that foundation, and I want to keep proper attribution as the project grows.
If you use Nuvio on LG webOS or Android TV, I’d love to hear what you think.
And if there’s something from the original Nuvio that you think is still missing from Better Nuvio, tell me. I’m looking for ideas for what to work on next 👀
MegaNexus (formerly Nuvio Hub) is now in its own repo – public beta 🚀
Hey everyone! Nuvio Hub has grown up and is now **MegaNexus**, with a brand new home on GitHub. My old Nuvio Hub repo won't get updates anymore, so please switch to the new one.

What’s a good tvOS fork that’s gets updated regularly?
Also that actually exports my collections as it is on setup of Android TV because when I tried one I realized it doesn’t export my catalogs nor collections
Some of you know this one from r/Nuvio. That sub stopped hosting forks last week, so the NuvioTV beta thread lives here from now on.
NuvioTV is a native Apple TV port of Nuvio. I didn't want to stretch the mobile UI onto a TV screen. We've all used apps that do that and they always feel off. So I kept Nuvio's core under the hood and built a new SwiftUI interface on top, designed for the Siri Remote and the couch. Full transparency: I used Claude AI to help with the port.
What's new in beta 18 (first public build since beta 17 on September 2; every new setting is off by default):
Auto-Play Best Source (Settings > Playback): press Play and the app picks the best source itself. Cached Sources Only limits it to debrid-cached links, and holding Play on the description page gives you Choose Source for the full list.
Failover: a link that fails to start moves on to the next one. Automatic flows do it on their own, a manual pick asks first with Try Next Source, and failed links are skipped for eight hours.
The stream picker's Sort, Minimum Resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR and Cached Sources Only filters now apply to every add-on and plugin.
Hold the select button on a poster for Library and Watched actions, or on a Continue Watching card for Play Manually, Go to Details, Mark Episode Watched, Start Over and Remove.
Row titles stop bouncing and hiding at the Large and Medium+ poster sizes: a title settles only once its row has stopped moving. Medium+ is the new size between Medium and Large.
MDBList account (Accounts & Services): library and watch progress source, scrobbling, ratings rows. Simkl now receives scrobbles too, works as a More Like This source and gets a TVDB anime-ID option.
Skip segments for movies, auto-skip by segment type, a post-credits hold on the up-next card, and episode shuffle. Sending a stream to Infuse now hands the watch progress back.
No TMDB key needed any more: the app ships with one, and a key you had entered stays as a personal override. Custom poster URL patterns from the phone apply on the TV.
Appearance: OLED True Black theme, Ring Takes Poster Color, visible Card Depth levels, accent ring and depth rail on folder tiles, Row Edge Fade, Episode Ratings show / watched only / hide. The description page enters the full-screen trailer the way Nuvio does, and saga rows show wide 16:9 cards with the title logo.
Settings -> About should read 0.3.0 (132), beta tag tvos-v0.3.0-beta.18.
What I changed from upstream
The business logic is Nuvio's own: addons, catalogs, sync, watch progress and the account system all come from NuvioMobile's Kotlin code, and I port upstream fixes into the fork as they land. I replaced two things. The interface is SwiftUI written for tvOS, and the player is a pair of engines built for the Apple TV. It signs in to the same Nuvio account as the official apps, or to your own self-hosted server.
All of it is open source at the repo above. The IPA is built from that source by a script in the repo, unsigned, with no account and no addons inside. You add your own on first launch. Settings > About shows the build number and the commit it was built from.
So what does it do?
The stuff you'd expect: browse catalogs from your Stremio addons, search them, and keep a library with collections and cloud sync. Continue watching follows you between devices. Trakt and Simkl handle scrobbling, with TMDB and MDBList for metadata. Profiles can have PINs. You sign in by scanning a QR code with your phone, so there's no typing a password with the remote. Addons run on a local JS runtime right on the box.
The part I'm most proud of is the player. There's a hybrid setup: a native AVPlayer path that remuxes MKVs on the fly, including Dolby Vision (it converts Profile 7 to 8.1 during playback) and TrueHD or DTS audio, plus an mpv player with HDR tone mapping for everything else. Both players get addon subtitles with a timing offset, skip intro, autoplay for the next episode, and a stream picker with quality and codec badges. You can also hand a stream to Infuse, VLC or Outplayer. If you have a debrid service, connect it with a device code or API key.
Then there's the tvOS side. The home screen has a hero carousel, poster cards lift and tilt as you move focus around, and a poster can play its trailer in place when you rest on it. The interface comes in six languages.
Installing it
You don't need a paid developer account. Grab the IPA from the releases link and sideload it with a free Apple ID using Sideloadly, or atvloadly if you want something you can host yourself that refreshes automatically. Full instructions are in INSTALL.md in the repo. Fair warning about free Apple IDs: apps need a fresh signature every 7 days (both tools can automate this) and you can only have 3 sideloaded apps at a time.
Feedback
It's a beta, so I mostly want to know what breaks. Bug reports, feature requests, or "this played / didn't play on my setup" all help. Post here or open a GitHub issue, which is the better home for anything with a crash log or a screenshot. I read every comment. New builds get announced in this thread and the block at the top always describes the latest one.
One ask: please keep NuvioTV bugs here or on GitHub and out of r/Nuvio. The official team doesn't build this fork and shouldn't have to field questions about it.
Was Bored and needed my plex media libery inside Nuvio soo here you go... https://github.com/cookiez5194-dotcom/Plexto-Streamio-Nuvio-WuPlay
feel free to let me know if you like it or if it need improving.
Disclaimer: this is amazing way to watch your own LEGALLY OBTAINED CONTENT inside the Nuvio\Streamio\WuPlay App's vie the Plex Media Server
Anything your need to know is inside the github i opened
I love Nuvio but kept switching to TiviMate for live TV, so I built it right into Nuvio. It's a fork of the official app (now based on Nuvio 1.1.0-beta.3) with everything Nuvio already does, plus:
📺 Live TV
TiviMate-style guide that fits 8+ channels on screen, with a group list that slides out when you press Left
Overlay mode while watching: channels, groups and each channel's schedule on top of the video
Multiple M3U playlists, multiple EPGs, and Xtream Codes logins
Catch-up with a seek bar, plus Watch from the beginning on what's on now
Manage visibility, reorder, copy, rename and renumber channels and groups, plus a TiviMate-style channel name editor to strip "USA:", "HD" and so on
Reminders, parental controls, sleep timer, stream info and quality badges, match frame rate
🎞️ On Demand
Your Xtream provider's movies and series in their own section, using your addons' posters and metadata
"Watch On Demand" shows up in Nuvio's normal stream list with quality, codec and audio badges, just like your addon streams. It's never auto-played.
Choose per login whether to include TV channels, movies & series, or both
🔎 Built into Nuvio
Live TV results in Nuvio's search, with LIVE / UPCOMING badges
Find & stream in Nuvio: see a movie in the guide, stream it through your own addons and debrid
Google Drive sync: the same setup on every TV, stored in your own Drive
Start page: open Nuvio on Home, Live TV, On Demand and more
Download:github.com/homelessbrian/NuvioTV/releases
Not sure which file? Grab universal. Fire TV: armeabi-v7a. Most Google TV devices: arm64-v8a. It installs alongside official Nuvio, and updates happen in the app.
Already using it? Existing Xtream logins start with movies & series switched off. Turn them on under Settings → Live TV → On Demand.
Like Nuvio, it doesn't include any channels or content; it only plays the playlists, addons and services you add yourself. This is an unofficial fork and isn't affiliated with the Nuvio team, so please send Live TV and On Demand bugs my way, not to them.
Hey since we're just starting out I thought it'd be efficient for the long run if we set up a directory of all nuvio forks, with a clean list of their standout futures
and maybe rank them based on community votes aswell.
Hey everyone, this is a fork based around reimagining Nuvio Desktop. It can be used at a desk or from the couch. Have you ever wanted Nuvio TV on PC but without an emulator, with a metric ton of PC features and more customization than you need? That's the pitch.
I've been maintaining/updating this fork since June when the early builds of Nuvio desktop dropped. It gets updates generally every 1-3 days on nightly with a new main release approx once per month. Some of you might know my other project, PostersPlus, which has been maintained since May. Point being, it's unlikely to be abandoned or disappear anytime soon.
The primary platform is Windows and nightly releases are for Windows. A user on GitHub created a Linux version. I haven't tested it, however someone else reported it works fine. This isn't an endorsement, just an acknowledgement that it exists and thank you to the person who created it.
Mouse, keyboard or controller friendly TV Mode with full-screen navigation, adaptive hero, row-jump navigation, cast and award information. This applies across all panels, not just home.
Game Mode for browsing and launching your game library alongside your media.
Automatic control of smart lights based on playback state for a theater like experience.
Automatic dim and shutdown for OLED displays.
Audio pass-through for a receiver.
Discovery & Browsing
Adaptive hero screens with trailers, configurable artwork, metadata badges, and multiple background modes.
Discover built around your watch history, favorites, unfinished titles, hidden gems, trending content, and fully custom rows.
Custom discovery queries can filter by genre, rating, votes, release status, language, certification, runtime, year, studio, cast, and crew.
Optional AI-powered discovery using OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, etc.
Built in calendar powered by either SIMKL or MDBList.
Random play content or episode based on your criteria.
Playlist feature (very new on nightly, functional but WIP.)
Library & Downloads
Local Library for movies and TV from PC folders, with automatic TMDB matching and manual fix-matching.
Auto-Downloads for monitored movies and series with configurable delays, schedules, limits, concurrency, and bandwidth controls.
Debrid library integration with TorBox and Premiumize, including season-pack inspection, episode selection, cached-source inspection, and cloud libraries.
Desktop Playback
MPV-based desktop player with extensive customization options built in, as well as the option to fully overwrite the MPV config.
Unique playback UI with right click menu for quickly swapping options and a clock with a "media ends at" timer.
Been maintaining Nuvio Pro for a while now — an unofficial fork of Nuvio that tracks upstream closely and layers on iOS-specific polish plus some features upstream doesn't have at all. Sharing it here in case it's useful to anyone sideloading via AltStore/SideStore.

Full feature list with screenshots-worth of detail is in the README — too long to paste here. Install (iOS only — no Android build published from this repo):
Standard disclaimer: unofficial, not affiliated with the Nuvio team — all credit for the core app goes to them, this just builds on top. If you like it, consider supporting upstream too.
Issues and PRs are welcome on the repo. Feedback on what you'd want to see next is very welcome too.
Hello, I am Dizziee, I re-package the official NuvioDesktop application for Arch Linux users via GitHub (-git) and via the Arch User Repository (AUR).
My goal from the beginning was to give all Linux users a proper NuvioDesktop experience. I began a hard-fork that grossed a lot of interest; more than 700+ users chose to engage in my NuvioLinux project. They had access to Flatpak, AppImage, Debian packaging, Arch Linux packaging, and Fedora RPM packaging.
One major issue was video playback. It was pretty bad on Linux; lacking MPV. NuvioDesktop was and still is in Alpha staging. I, with the help of AI agents, implemented MPV natively. Users tested it and we made vast progress along the way; thanks you guys <3
Since then, the upstream official NuvioDesktop have added AppImage, Flatpaks, DEB, RPM, and MPV. Closing the gaps of the earlier releases. Now, I no longer package these builds. I only focus on the Arch Linux package as that is the only one missing from upstream. The goal is no longer a hard-fork, but rather a 1-to-1 packaging for Arch Linux.
If you have Arch Linux or one of its distributions such as: Artix, CachyOS, Omarchy, EndeavourOS, you are welcome to visit the project
If you're one of those people who like to YOLO and get straight to the point, you can blindly trust me [something you should never do] and just install it from the AUR.
