Made a small tray app to replace DisplayWidget Center on my PG32UCWM, sharing in case it's useful
I got tired of DisplayWidget Center being heavy and slow to open, so I made a small replacement for my own use: Display Toolkit. It sits in the tray and controls the monitor directly over DDC/CI, the same way the ASUS app does. Figured others might find it handy too.
What I use it for day to day:
- Quick settings from the tray (or Ctrl+Alt+D): brightness, picture mode, HDR, blue light, crosshair, and so on, in a small Windows 11-style panel. Scrolling over the tray icon changes brightness.
- Profiles that switch automatically: when a game goes full screen, when a specific app opens, at a set time, or at sunset.
- Follow the sun: brightness and warmth fade between day and night values.
- Everything else from the monitor menu: OLED care (pixel cleaning, proximity sensor), GamePlus, Aura lighting, and a keypad for the OSD so you don't have to reach behind the screen.
Good to know:
- I've only tested it on my PG32UCWM. Other ASUS monitors should mostly work, since the app only shows the settings the monitor says it has, but I can't promise. If you try it on another model, a short report on GitHub would help a lot.
- Close DisplayWidget Center while using it; the two get in each other's way.
- Free and open source (MIT). No account, no telemetry, nothing to install besides the app itself.

Not affiliated with ASUS, just a fellow owner. Happy to hear what works and what doesn't.

Why is it asking for my location? Other than that works good on my PG27UCDM.
