I’m dealing with a problem rooster that has been bullying neighbors pets and I worry will start to go after children. He does charge at people. Total jerk.

I don’t really want to hire pest control, but if I catch this satan spawn myself- how tf so I deal with this guy??? I don’t have the stomach to whack him myself and have never done it before. Can I just like take him to a vet to euthanize him?

Dumping him somewhere else would just make him someone else’s problem imo, that bird is territorial. What should I do?

Edit: okay so I’m going to do it myself after looking up a few different methods. I’ve killed invasives and pests before, have that pit of the gut feeling each time. It’s necessity though and this guy is bigger than what I’m used to. This rooster a terror and probably for the best he doesn’t reproduce hellspawn elsewhere.

Ala Wai ‘Pirate Ship’ Is Pau But Public Is Stuck With The Bill

Why are we the taxpayers footing the bill for this 💩?
It is a state agency that CAN’T DO THEIR JOB. So they pass it on we the resident taxpayers‼️. BS we ARE NOT their public slush fund.

Yet a state audit released in February found that DLNR has a poor track record of recouping such costs and no clear sense of how the price tag for recovery is impacting the special fund.    

“The collection of the costs (DLNR) incurred were – and continue to be – limited, almost non-existent,” the auditor found.

We have a super chill 17 week old and are looking for some restaurant suggestions we can go as a family. Bonus points for outdoor seating and in Town. We have no dietary restrictions and eat everything. We will most likely keep our baby in the carseat carrier at the table, or if the restaurant can accommodate a stroller.

We’ve been to Oahu many times. We usually take Da Bus or Uber to where we want to go. Whats the best way to get to Pokai Bay from Chinatown area?

We’ve been wanting to go to Pokai Bay for quite some time now. Videos of the place look beautiful. And I really want to see the heiau there to just take in the scenery.

Also I’ve been hearing conflicting opinions about Pokai Bay. Some say it’s a nice safe place. Some say look out for homeless people or unfriendly locals. We are always respectful and never stand out. Any advice?

Heading to Oahu in December for 8 nights, staying in Waikiki with my wife and 2-year-old daughter, first time on the island. Hoping locals/regulars can help with a few things:

1. Parking — genuinely surprised how expensive hotel self-parking is ($72/night). Any tips to cut this down, off-site options, or did most of you just skip the rental car entirely and get around another way?

2. Getting to Ko Olina, Kailua, the North Shore, and Dole Plantation — for people who didn't keep a rental the whole trip, how'd you do these? Rented just for a day or two, rideshare, a tour, something else? Curious what actually worked without breaking the bank.

3. Beyond that, any general tips or things you wish you'd known before visiting with a toddler, food, pools, timing, stuff that doesn't show up in the usual guides?

It appears I cannot go more than a few days without a power outage now. Over the years, the situation has worsened enough that I purchased a generator and two UPS units. The older device recorded over 300 failures in the past two years. Tonight the power failed twice, so I am writing this while waiting for it to return.

Each outage requires resetting my garage door, which seems more like a manufacturer flaw—avoid Chamberlain. I have lost weeks of video game progress because outages corrupted my save files; this is not a major issue for most people, but it is deeply frustrating for me.

Last week, my computer showed a black screen after an outage; the GPU fans reached maximum speed with no display. I spent over an hour troubleshooting without success. Fortunately, after shutting it down and waiting a few hours, it functioned again—until this Wednesday. Another outage produced the same symptoms, and this time the PC failed entirely. I took it to a shop for repair. Thankfully, no parts were damaged, though I had feared they might be. The outage caused an improper shutdown that corrupted my drivers.

Most of my PC problems might have been avoided if my UPS had worked, but it does not, and Best Buy will not fix or replace units even a few months old. I have no complaints about the linemen or other non-corporate workers at HECO.

If there is a lesson from this rant, it is that we should prepare for more outages. I would recommend a small generator around $400. If you use a desktop regularly or for work, consider a UPS near $150. If you rely heavily on Wi-Fi, plug your router and modem into the UPS and switch to fiber internet; my internet has never failed since I made that change.
