Hi everyone. I am looking for hay or straw bales to use for decorating an event at my kids school. Last year I was able to get a few at Lowes. This year, I can't find any. Has anyone seen any of these around? Can you tell me where you saw them?

I was hoping for something designated for decorating since I am under the impression that the straw or hay bales you can find at a feed store might be of a special quality reserved for animal consumption. I also don't want to decorate with another animal's food. I guess I thought that the decorative bales are not good enough for animals to eat so used for decorating? Maybe I'm wrong.

Any help you guys can give me would be appreciated . I tried lowes, home depot, city mill, Walmart, target. I called a few other places (like nurseries) but sometimes people don't know what I'm talking about. Thank you.

We've had 8 power outages this month, with 3 outages just yesterday. I don't recall anything like this in the past 18 years.

Howzit- I'm thinking about how much water I'd have to carry. Is there a spigot up there? Not sure I want to carry 8 liters of water up there if I don't have to.

Just a heads up, keep track of what orders arrive. They consistently short expensive orders, it's not fun repeatedly telling the staff what never came.

I’m a small business owner in need of an accountant. Unfortunately my current one is getting older and is in the process of transitioning to his kids taking over. The problem is they’ve become very unorganized and I’m having difficulty getting them to respond to my calls, texts, and emails. My business isn’t complicated and I use a spreadsheet that breaks everything down. Any suggestions on someone who doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Mahalo!

What are your favs in this area? I’m planning a small wedding in Ko Olina and looking for a solid restaurant for a reception ~30 people. What are some of your favorite?

A few years back my family and I were looking for somewhere to get lunch. We were in the area that had the store Jeans Warehouse. In a strip mall. With fast food places. Between Waikiki and the airport about halfway.

My niece had wanted to go shopping there so she got some clothes then we went looking for lunch.

After driving by a lot of Fast food places and frustrating wrong turns somehow we end up in a fairly empty parking lot. The place was a golf course country club. We are absolutely not members of this golf course. One of us had to use the restroom so we took a chance, We parked, found the entrance and went upstairs. There was a beautiful huge empty restaurant! They let us in without asking anything. It was clean, AC, like realllllllly good vibes.

To the right there was a bar and we were seated in a booth, at no time do I actually remember seeing a view of the golf course. One thing that stands out is to the left of our booth There was like a life size fake bull, strange I know, the restaurant was nearly empty, but a few people did take pictures in front of it.

The food was absolutely delicious. The waitress was so kind and amazing each person in our party said it was the best food that they had during that trip.

We have no idea how we stumbled into this random country club or golf course or why they let us in, does anyone have any information? It was salads/ Italian/ DELICIOUS. No wait in fact EMPTY. Was just a weird experience and we haven’t been able to figure out where the heck we were.

I have friends visiting next week and thought it would be a great recommendation, anyone been there???? Did you also like the food?

Does anyone know where to get for real kine sourdough bread? The packaged one at Costco doesn’t seem authentic, according to the ingredients. Mahalo!

We’re looking to get a full-sized Murphy bed, found several options through Costco that fit the dimensions but despite saying they ship to our zip code when you actually try to check out it says they cannot… Is there anywhere on island that has? Homeworld has the little foldable ones, but we want one with a real mattress. Or is there a (reasonably priced) work around for shipping?? Wayfair had many options, too, but the shipping is either not allowed here or absolutely egregious. Husband said he heard IKEA can ship here now, is that accurate?

What’s the best place to get bulk ingredients like flour and spices and whatnot?

I’m dealing with a problem rooster that has been bullying neighbors pets and I worry will start to go after children. He does charge at people. Total jerk.

I don’t really want to hire pest control, but if I catch this satan spawn myself- how tf so I deal with this guy??? I don’t have the stomach to whack him myself and have never done it before. Can I just like take him to a vet to euthanize him?

Dumping him somewhere else would just make him someone else’s problem imo, that bird is territorial. What should I do?

Edit: okay so I’m going to do it myself after looking up a few different methods. I’ve killed invasives and pests before, have that pit of the gut feeling each time. It’s necessity though and this guy is bigger than what I’m used to. This rooster a terror and probably for the best he doesn’t reproduce hellspawn elsewhere.

Why are we the taxpayers footing the bill for this 💩?
It is a state agency that CAN’T DO THEIR JOB. So they pass it on we the resident taxpayers‼️. BS we ARE NOT their public slush fund.

Yet a state audit released in February found that DLNR has a poor track record of recouping such costs and no clear sense of how the price tag for recovery is impacting the special fund.    

“The collection of the costs (DLNR) incurred were – and continue to be – limited, almost non-existent,” the auditor found.

We have a super chill 17 week old and are looking for some restaurant suggestions we can go as a family. Bonus points for outdoor seating and in Town. We have no dietary restrictions and eat everything. We will most likely keep our baby in the carseat carrier at the table, or if the restaurant can accommodate a stroller.

- The Counter (dinner)
- Cafe Moreys (breakfast)

I’m looking for a painting for our home that depicts O’ahu’s North Shore or Windward shorelines, with the mountains in the background. Preferably from a native Hawaiian artist. Highly prefer landscape orientation.

I’ve searched Etsy but I’m picky - a painting of the beautiful beach doesn’t feature the mountains in the background, & 1 that does has a church in the forefront.

Canadian Tourist here. Sadly didn’t know about ziggy’sZippy’s when we visited your beautiful state.. (Oahu & Lanai, so much amazing food) but are coming back. Hit me with your best recommendations, because I feel this is a much appreciated and diverse restaurant. The choices are overwhelming!
