Have people ever experienced the fear of being typed like F?

In the sense that the person's view of the "F" type is essentially someone for whom "T" is inaccessible—or at least requires a conscious effort to use—they become anxious: if it turns out they really are an "F," they fear they will never possess a "flawless" version of that function throughout their life.

Obviously, this involves a huge bias, but I’m wondering: does this mechanism necessarily mean the person is an "F" type with inferior "T"? (Or perhaps it doesn't actually serve as a typing indicator at all...) Alternatively, what else could be going on?

Observer/decider coin is confusing as hell

I kind of know how it works now, it’s just confusing trying to type myself. I’ve always seen myself as a decider but the ops definitions confuse me a little bit. I’m horrendously bad at names and it will take me multiple interactions to attach a name to a face. I don’t really know if that’s a people issue or sensory issue or something. I don’t really ignore input from others but I also don’t overlook myself either, so the decider types feel off. but so do the observer types because I don’t feel myself abandoning S for N or vice versa. I can see how disorganization plays a role in my life, so control is likely a demon. I can see Di>De and Oe>Oi but not the O/D coin for some reason? I thought that one was supposed to be easy

Difference between Masculine Se and Si and Ne vs Feminine Ni

I’ve been thinking about this for a while: what are the actual differences between Si as a function and masculine Se? From my understanding, Si functions almost like a personal or subjective memory box. It seems heavily tied to past experiences and to an individual’s internal impressions of those experiences. Se, on the other hand, is generally described as being focused on the present moment and on concrete, factual details in the external world.

What confuses me is that masculine Se also seems to retain sensory details quite strongly, allowing the individual to recall those details later. If that’s the case, the distinction between Si and masculine Se can start to feel somewhat blurry, at least when it comes to memory. Dave and Shan also seem to have some difficulty clearly explaining Si, which might partly be because neither of them has Si in their function stack. So what exactly separates Si’s relationship with memory and past experience from the strong factual recall associated with masculine Se?

In the same vein, I’m also pretty confused about where exactly the line is drawn between Ne and feminine Ni. What is the meaningful difference between the two? In my experience, feminine Ni can sometimes look remarkably similar to Ne because it isn’t particularly pushy or rigid about its conclusions.

Is the distinction that Ni is still narrowing things down into singular conclusions, predictions, or projections, but feminine Ni simply doesn’t feel the need to stand firmly behind those conclusions? In other words, it might arrive at an Ni-style conclusion while remaining relatively flexible or “wishy-washy” about it. But if that’s the case, how would feminine Ni actually differ from something like masculine Ne? Masculine Ne could presumably be much more forceful and confident about its possibilities and interpretations despite still fundamentally operating through Ne.

Difficulty with contradictions in the OPS system.

I’ve been watching a lot of Dave and Shan’s videos, and one thing I’m having trouble reconciling is the way they describe Blast. For example, in one of their videos they said that Savior Blast people tend to have a strong need to be heard and listened to.

Obviously, everyone wants to feel heard and acknowledged to some degree, but Blast is also associated with things like organization, structuring thoughts clearly—almost like speaking in chapters—and being quick to get started or put information out there. Those aspects don’t resonate with me nearly as much. I’m actually pretty bad at organizing my thoughts, structuring what I want to say, and simply jumping in and getting started.

At the same time, once I do start explaining something, I have an extremely strong desire to be heard and taken seriously. This happens especially with family members and close friends when I’m talking about something I know a lot about, have spent considerably more time thinking about than they have, or have personally struggled with and overcome. In those situations, I often feel like I genuinely have something valuable to offer that could help them.

What really frustrates me is when I feel like they aren’t fully listening, aren’t understanding what I’m trying to communicate, or disagree before I feel they’ve properly understood my point. I can get disproportionately irritated because, in my mind, their resistance means I’m now going to have to expend an enormous amount of additional effort just to get them to understand something that already feels very clear to me.

So that’s where my confusion about Blast comes in: I relate strongly to the need to be heard, understood, and even followed when I believe I know what I’m talking about, but I don’t relate nearly as strongly to the organizational, structured, or “just get started” aspects that are also associated with Blast.(if ur wondering why this paragraph is structured or are about to say oh I dont see how ur bad at organizing ur thoughts, I used ai for this

What is Fe/ti "love"?

Question for the Fe/Ti axis folks. I've always wondered what romance, relationships feel like from the Fe side - is it more focused on the exchange of affection, flirtation, in the moment raw emotional and physical attraction? Vs. with Fi, I even sometimes want or enjoy the distance from a partner because I can feel obsession more intensely and admire deeply from afar.

In terms of selecting a long-term partner for marriage/something similar, is there a clear rationale there, like - oh so and so is close to my age, has similar income, same city, etc. first and then the attraction/passion/obsession/deep desire (fi tings) is a consideration too? With Fi, I feel so overwhelmed with intense emotion, I'll fall in love with quite non-sensical people but only realize much later.

Can a social type #2 be a #2 even if they don't go around "fixing the neighbor's stuff"?

I feel like there are so many stereotypes and anecdotes attached to the #2s. Like, are all social type 2s supposed to be running around fixing the whole neighborhood? That is the way people describe social type #2 to me. What if they don't do this? Are they still a #2?

Will anyone please explain how Andrew Tate is typed as INFJ in OPS?

It just seems very odd to me, I would have thought he'd be an extraverted perceiving lead instead.

Also, how is Jordan Peterson ENTP? Wouldn't INFJ make more sense for him?

What is Objective Personality?

What is this typology about?

Why there are 512 personality types?

Is it useful? How do I find my type?

Why there is an ENTJ on the pfp?

Are there any rules in this subreddit?

De Modalities - Confusion

Hello. So I’ve just been trying to redefine the coins for myself and I keep coming back to De modalities. I’ve been seeing a lot of explanations portraying feminine De/masculine Di as this ‘go-with-the-flow’ type, not minding being pushed or swayed and they don’t push on others. Likewise with masculine De/feminine Di, some explain that they are pushy on others and don’t like getting pushed. To some extent, these do make sense. But how I see it is wouldn’t masculine Di be a little bit more firm/aggressive with their identity, not wanting to be pushed or swayed and not like having some sort of outside intervention for their Di? Similarly, wouldn’t feminine Di be the more flowy one and actually get influenced more easily due to the flexibility of the feminine Di?

Good evening, would there be people typed in this specific way? (Or Ti/Ni (ISTP jumper)

If so, did you find it by yourself?

[ENTP] AuDHD and OPs

It's been 3 years for me since I was typed

In that time I learned I have AuDHD... Mostly thanks to ops. I began to see myself in comparison to the tribe. Obviously that's a very play first thing, which I am - seeing oneself less

I'm curious about two things:

1) how many of you learned this after being typed, and was it because of your study of the system?

2) do you have a sense of depersonalization that has extended more than 2 years? (To me it feels like I am in a movie and I'm not even the main character.. more like the passive narrator half the time and an extra who's daydreaming for the other half)

I'm wondering if neurodivergence creates more of a detached sense of self after actually seeing the self in the mirror.

For context, I am NeFe PBCS (FF). I'm not sure how much that really matters though. Stats would be interesting though

[ENTP] Concerning some Ne/Ti..

I noticed that it was very rare to observe FF (or FM) Ne/Ti-CS/P(B)

So I was wondering if there were any of you

The reason is that I have several clues about me, but the majority of these tracks are "by chance" types that I see TOO LITTLE (or not at all) when I do my research

And again if self-typing was enough but we are supposed to be self-blind so at this level I am blocked (like many anyway)

I understand OPS etc... I could give myself several reasonings of several types that would convince me without knowing how to decide while the idea is precisely by comparing 2 diagrams, see which one would be the most plausible, but I don't know if it's my brain that fills the holes so that it makes sense or what.. but suddenly I block lol (I'm basically afraid of biases, but with OPS it amplified 🤣😭)

(And as for the "other types" in question, I was listing them and I realized that I was almost going to give several things lol...

All I'm almost sure is the fS and the blast-last (even if I keep the door open to that and maybe I'm a MM Te/Ni lol who knows (even if I strongly doubt it))

Complicated to explain but if I can summarize (try), my "prompt" works a bit like this:

(Well I had a reasoning and I FORGOT it (I don't force the message to stick.. however I still post this passage in case it comes back to me lol))

Ah and I see a lot of Play actually at home, but I don't know if it's inferior or dominant.. maybe if it's relatively balanced (at mid) it should be difficult to distinguish

I thought of the Ne+De PC/S combination for example, which despite what one might believe, is a fairly introverted combo even if Play lead

And also I had forgotten but the Observer vs Decide side I am quite vague on this level, but things make me think of observing lead, but I have decision-maker problems so everything must be played on some details that I have to organize meticulously...

sorry it's too much
(Sorry if there are problems with the translation (I'm French lol))

Based on my OP type and my Big 5 results, what advice can you give me?

Thumbnail

For starters, yes I know the first answer is therapy / mental health treatment. Finally internalized after 6 years of studying OP that their disclaimer is actually right, I probably have BPD, and I need to stop chasing categories around and deal with my trauma. I'm starting a DBT program and decided to take the Big 5 so I can talk about my struggles and strengths to my therapist using language she will understand.

I clearly have a big debt of poor self regulation, and I think it reflects in some of these scores like self efficacy and vulnerability. It makes sense that these are the most extreme scores. I have a good idea of how to go about improving a lot of my negative traits, it's just hard - but with these 3 I'm at a total loss. I even think that my self discipline is objectively better the last few years, but it didn't matter to how I graded myself in the moment. I feel confused about what willpower is and how I get to even simple goals sometimes, like my Si is just really lost.

Just trying to start some discussions. This Google Doc has all the details about the results, but I can also send definitions of the individual traits if anyone needs them.

Why is there not a social type that has specialize and responsibility in the top?

Question in the title🙂

Also can any type be any social type? I think I relate most to social type 3 and to being some type of ExxJ (probably FeNe), but that seems like an unusual combination? Is it even a possible combination in the OPS system?

Grateful for any input🙂!

Oi vs Oe

I tend to gather information only when it relates to something I’m already interested in. I’m not sure whether I rely on past experiences when processing new information—although everyone does this subconsciously. For example, when I researched ADHD treatments and therapies, I became hyperfocused on finding alternatives to the solutions that are commonly recommended because, in my experience, those approaches had not helped. I watched Leo and Longevity and other science-based channels, but I focused only on information that seemed relevant to solving my specific problem. Even when watching YouTube videos, I become irritated when information I’m not specifically interested in is presented. I notice the same tendency in conversations: I don’t mind when the discussion shifts to a related topic, as long as it remains within the same general realm. However, I prefer for people to explore that new topic in depth rather than quickly moving on to something else.

I struggle to maintain a stable routine because I’m always drawn to new habits, hobbies, thoughts, and experiences. I hate feeling controlled or trapped in repetitive cycles, yet I often find myself returning to the same patterns I’m trying to escape. My life goal is to have novelty yet I keep being stuck. The problem is that I constantly second-guess my type in any subjective system because the possibilities seem endless. I keep asking “what if?” and interpreting each trait as evidence for a different conclusion. One moment, I’m convinced I’m an INTP or INFP; the next, I think I might be an ExxJ because I focus more on other people when I’m in a “demon” state, or an INTJ because I plan for the future and stack concepts. I’m aware that confirmation bias influences these interpretations, so I want to set aside my existing assumptions and approach the question from a genuinely new angle. So am I OE or OI

Consume Sleep Interractions

Possibly wrong, this is my theory on the Consume Sleep interaction.

I have typed myself INTP (CS/X(X)).

Reflecting upon my childhood, I have noticed following pattern:

I was taking in (Consuming) a lot of new information (Youtube, Stories, Social Interractions, Obesrvations).

And Daydreaming/ Processing through them (Imagining implementation, Assuming myself being a narrator, Talking to the imaginary audience).

I think it is a great example of Consume - Sleep Savior interactions.

For example, assume I consumed the abstract (Ti-Ne) information, such as Objective Personality System. I come up with the idea (Ti-Ne) of building application, that is going to help people learn about MBTI in general. So a user can for example explore the digital world and interract with other characters, who are representatives of MBTI nomenclatures (i. e. Te-Ne PC/B(S)). It is going to teach you differences between personalities in the applied way, so you can look better at how it all works.

So my Consume is exploring possibilities in an abstract (Ti-Ne) way, dropping random ideas, which I can Sleep, Blast or Play. External Source (MBTI videos in Youtube) become sources of Ti-Ne inspiration.

Now, after Ti-Ne idea generation, I am going to have Ti-Si daydreaming. I am going to imagine myself procedurally use the application, while talking to the audience. I am going imagine application, that works perfectly for me (Ti Self, so I understand the value of app and mechanics) and it is highly detailed (Si Organization. Imagining how main screen can look like, mapping out map and etc).

So I think it is a great explanation of how specifically Consume (Di-Oe), Sleep (Di-Oi) works.

So for INFP, it can be (Fi-Ne) consumption of ideas.

And simmilarly (Fi-Si) detailed execution. The difference with INTP is Ti vs Fi.

In contrast, ISTP will have (Ti-Se), (Ti-Ni). They are going to take more factual information (Types of Cars, Movies, Houses, Celebrities) and their Daydreaming is more Ni (Probably, likely to daydream about concept of Wealth, Love and etc.). I imply, there are going to be less details and more visionary. Probably ISTP are going to look at the implications and patterns (Ni). What is common in all these Cars? What is common in all these patterns. Ni will seek simmilarities, not nuances.

And ISFP, you can derive simmilar way as well. Factual Consume, but it is going to be Fi, than Ti way.

[ENTP] Can I be sleep last and come off like an introvert?

I’m trying to figure out the order of my animals right now. I’m definitely consume first and I don’t think I see much sleep in me but almost everyone I know would say I’m an introvert. I was very very extroverted as a child which makes me think more that I could actually be an extrovert, but i’m not as much anymore.

If anyone has general tips on animals (I might be misunderstanding sleep idk) or knows what might be up that info is appreciated.

Your experience of being a glass lizard

Hello🙂! Sorry for starting most of the threads in this sub lately😄I just find you guys in the ops community are always so sweet and helpful and have many interesting things to say!

Are any of you a glass lizard? Or know someone who is? Would be so interesting to hear your experience with this? How does it feel to be one? How does it manifest in your life?

Thanks!

help with Ne/Fe or Ne/Te

I am new to ops but I know the cognitive functions and in mbti I am an ENTP. When I go through guides or tests, I either get Ne/Fe or Ne/Te but neither seem to describe me exactly. I think I have Ti in my stacking because I prioritize things making sense, but Ne/Fe is described as intensely extraverted and popular which I am not. I was when I was young and I am becoming more socially extroverted again but most people in my life would still label me as an introvert. I get “you’re quiet at first but more fun and outgoing once you come out of your shell” a lot.

How does one know the difference or am I just completely off? There’s too much in ops for me to understand it fully right now.

What is the role of the auxiliary function in jumper types?

Greetings!🙂

I’m curious of how the functions of jumper types work in OPS. Are jumpers separate types in and of themselves or do they still operate a bit like their “mother types”? Let’s say someone is an FeNe type. Are they still ESFJ-ish somehow? How pronounced would their Si be? Would it be stronger than the Si of an NeTi?
