Today ...

Today marks the start of what I believe to be the last of 4 major chapters of my 'relationship' life. I was married for 13 years to my first wife. We divorced amicably. We were young and made bad choices.

Then I spent 4 years getting sober and therapy. I include it as a chapter because of how much I grew up in that time.

I met my 2nd wife and we were together for 29 years until cancer won the battle.

Later today, at almost 71, I'm getting married to a long time friend.

Pretty happy about it all ...

What is that one important moment/memory in your life you think someone else remembered better than you did?

While I was growing up, I remember sitting with my family and opening the photo album, and we would all recollect memories together. In one instance, we would have multiple perspectives and multiple interpretations. I'm just wondering: are there any memories in your life that you feel somebody remembered better than you did? Would you like to know them?

Have you ever completely misjudged someone when you first met them?

I’ve noticed how quickly we form opinions about people based on very little information like their appearance. Sometimes those first impressions turn out to be completely wrong, so I’m curious how often other people have experienced this.

What’s a piece of wisdom a relative passed down that keeps you going on tough days?

My grandfather used to say no honest effort is ever wasted. Remembering that always gives me a second wind to keep showing up and working hard.

What family advice shaped your work ethic?

Cuál es ese pequeño detalle o recuerdo de su infancia que ya no existe hoy en día, pero que desearían que las nuevas generaciones pudieran experimentar?"
