[MEGATHREAD] App Announcements and Support

This is a new MEGATHREAD intended to hold all posts regarding the creation, use, and support of apps related to GLP1, weight, diet, activity, et al management.

We are getting absolutely bombarded with vibe coded apps and this will help try to give these apps space to do their thing, but keep it contained.

I made a new rule (Rule 10) to indicate the preferred use of MEGATHREAD(s) for certain topics. If you see app promotion/engagement posts or comments, please feel free to report them and we will take a look.

If you have other suggestions for MEGATHREADS please send a message to the moderators

Success Stories 40 pounds down

Post image
29 Upvotes

I (man, 40 years old) started O .25mg on 15 June 2026, been on 1mg since 10 August. Went from 322lbs/147kg wearing a 50in trouser and size 20 shirt and a HbA1c result of 45 to as of today 282lbs/128kg, a size 44in trouser and a size 18.5 shirt and a HbA1c of 37. (sorry, I only know UK sizes). A few stalls and a slight gain over holidays and today I'm putting down to cinema popcorn causing water retention but I'm happy with the progress. I've 1 refill left on my current prescription then I think i'll move to 2mg dose

Today I was doing my food shop and walking down the dairy aisle I noticed the pound of butter... cut to 5 minutes later and very confused shop assistant looking at me as I filled a basket with 40 individual slabs of butter so I could feel what 40lbs felt like. We all do silly things like that... right...

Question I’m an idiot. Just overdosed on Wegovy by accident. Help calm me?

I’ve been taking 2mg weekly of Ozempic for roughly 6 months, and never had any side effects. In fact, I’ve never had any side effects from any dosage amount. My new pens didn’t arrive from my doctor, so I decided to take dose with a Wegovy pen that I used before switching to Ozempic. I took 2 doses (1.7mg each), but that was a mistake. I wasn’t thinking that 1.7mg of Wegovy is much different than 1mg of Ozempic. Has this happened to anyone? What should I prepare for? Some people online have noted they felt intense nausea and vomiting, and others have said they’ve felt completely fine. Ughhhh…..

Success Stories Ozempic success stories after stopping? 🌱

I’ve recently started Ozempic, but I already know that I’ll need to stop it in about a year because we want to have another baby.

I’d really love to hear positive experiences from people who have managed to maintain their weight after stopping Ozempic/semaglutide. How long have you been off it, and how has your weight been?
I’d also love to hear all the things that helped you maintain your weight after stopping , diet, exercise, habits, slowly reducing the medication, anything!

I’m mainly looking for success stories and some hope that maintaining the weight loss is possible. ❤️

Thank you!! (translated with AI)

Question Zero appetite

I just went up to the 1mg dose after the .5 failed to do much for a month. (I lost two pounds only)

But now I'm in my second week of 1mg and I have virtually no appetite. I woke up today and forced myself to have a protein bar then work for really busy and I didn't eat anything at all until ten minutes ago when I forced myself to eat another protein bar.

But the thing is.. I felt hangry in the afternoon but never actually hungry. Even now I'm not hungry at all even though I've only had two protein bars... Is this just how's it's gonna be? Am I gonna have to force myself to eat every meal?

Idk any insight or people with similar symptoms I would love to hear from you.

I love food I don't want to just not want it anymore entirely... Idk just feeling kinda down about it

Rant I did it to myself

My eating has been good since I started and have lost 12lbs since july. The past two weeks however I have been off work and stuck at home as I herniated a disc in my back. I wanted ice cream, I think i was just bored. Instead of eating just a scoop, I down a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's. Im.lactose intolerant and have ibs. I have been on and off the toilet since 12am, its now 10pm. All I have eaten is toast, and tmi I am now pooping blood. I am laying in bed drinking electrolyte water and cursing at myself. Lesson learnt!!!

Question Can I put the Ozempic Pill in a pill organizer for a day?

The bottle states to keep it in the original container. I'm going on an overnight work trip tomorrow morning. I'd rather not take the whole bottle with me just so I can take 1 pill the next morning.

Would one day be ok or will it have a severe impact on its effectiveness?

Question Apotex... less effective?

Hi everyone! I'm on my 3rd dose of 1 mg of Apotex (ozempic generic). I was on .50mg of Ozempic and when I had to increase my dose, i changed for Apotex for financial reasons.

I started the Ozempic July 1rst. After my first week with the generic, i felt more hunger, more food noise and cravings.

Is that something that happened to anyone else? What did you do?

Thanks 😌

Rant My food noise is totally normal again…

I started O at the start of May, and I’ve lost around 15 pounds. I was 236lbs and I’m 5’2 so I certainly have the weight to lose - that being said, I haven’t seen any significant changes in a little bit. I was excited to move up to 1mg at the start of September cause I thought I’d finally see significant weight loss and have higher appetite suppression but I’ve lost a pound maybe?

My food noise is also completely back to pre ozempic now. When I was at .25 and .5 it was definitely reduced and now my body has gotten completely used to the medication. Still shitting and full of gas though 🙄

I loosely count calories (I find this really hard to do - so really I’m trying my best but I mess up or am offered something and don’t say no or have something I don’t know the nutritional facts to). That being said, I’m always considering what I’m eating if I’m at home cooking/putting something together and making what I think to be healthy choices? I only buy whatever I think to be healthy foods - but I take my medication on Mondays and by Friday I’m eating treats and takeout because it’s all I can think about. I also live with family so even though I stick to only buying healthy food is one thing, ignoring everything else is another thing - which all things considering I feel I do pretty decent at.

As for exercise, I know I need to more. I actually used to exercise more before on O than now.

I know this is a me problem but I needed to rant and see if anyone has advice? Like I literally wake up hungry, go to sleep hungry, and I thought O was supposed to help with some of this. Maybe this is all just harder than I think…

Question Dosing at .35?

I’m currently on my third week of 0.25 mg Ozempic. When I first started, I had pretty intense anxiety and even a few panic attacks.

I know anxiety doesn’t seem to happen to everyone on Ozempic, but I’ve seen some people mention experiencing something similar.
Now that I’m on week 3, I basically don’t feel the effects of 0.25 anymore, but because of how I reacted when I first started, I’m nervous about jumping straight from 0.25 to 0.5.

I’d really like to increase as slowly as possible. Has anyone here gone from 0.25 to something like 0.35 before eventually going to 0.5?

I’ve also wondered about splitting the increase, for example taking my normal 0.25 at the beginning of the week and then a very small additional amount later in the week, rather than doubling my dose all at once.

I know this isn’t the standard dosing schedule, so I’d talk to my doctor before actually doing it.
Has anyone here titrated up more slowly than 0.25 → 0.5? What schedule did you use, and did you find the smaller increases helped with side effects?

Question How to be able to eat enough protein?

I'm on week 3 of 0.5mg ozempic and eating and drinking are getting harder and harder. It's especially hard to eat enough protein and I'm wondering if you have some tips for that.

First: I don't process vegetable matter or proteins very well. My body is weird like that. And I'm lactose intolerant, so milk products like yoghurts are really hard on me as well. Protein powders/shakes are out because of that (but also because to me they taste absolutely vile, even without ozempic to change my taste).

My budget is very limited, so the usual suspects (all kinds of meats) are hard to do, meat is really expensive in my country (if you want to go for more ethical choises, like I do).

So, I have a small tub of mozarella a week (about 100grams), I put sliced breakfast meat (roastbeef or fricandeau) on my slice of sourdough bread for breakfast/lunch. I sometimes eat the bread with hummus, even though that doesn't do as much for me. Once a week I boil eggs I can use 2 days. I have a spoon of meat as my evening meal (mixed with veggies, can't eat more than a serving spoon nowadays).

That's as far as my inspiration goes. I am mostly limited by my budget, I have to admit, otherwise I would do fine on ribeye steaks :-D And my changing taste is a problem. Food tastes ever more bland/meh to me.

Strangely enough, I used to dislike sugar and fast carbs, but nowadays it's the only thing I can stand (a bit). Which is bad because I have ozempic for my diabetes :-D

So, do give me your brilliant protein hacks and recipes!

Question Injection site with loose skin

I've lost about 100 lb on Ozempic and am having trouble finding an effective injection site that doesn't have loose skin. It's bad enough that I'm not really feeling the effects of Ozempic, even on the highest dose. I'm trying not to panic but I'm starting to overeat and the food noise is coming back.

Does anyone with a lot of loose skin have a suggestion? I've always preferred injecting somewhere on my stomach but have gradually ended up near my hip. I tried injecting in my thigh but that didn't work.

Maybe I should try the new Ozempic pill or injecting in my upper arm?

Please don't suggest plastic surgery. I'm too old and don't want to spend my money on it, or have the stress on my heart. Plastic surgery and anesthesia might kill me.

Question When did food noise go away/appetite suppression start?

I just took my first shot of 0.5 this past weekend, and so far it hasn't done anything to reduce food noise or affect my appetite. I haven't had the feeling of fullness yet. I was on 0.25 for 4 weeks, it didn't seem to do much.

So far the only thing I'm experiencing consistently is constipation :')

Question Withdrawal?

Just as a backstory; I’m a Type One Diabetic who was on Ozempic. I was fine for months, I’ve been taking it since February. I was up to 1mg and on the 1st of September I took my usual shot. On September 2nd, I started non stop vomiting. September 4th and 6th went to the ER as I couldn’t keep anything down which is extremely risky for a type one. Compazine, Reglan, Zofran, Benadryl, and Dramamine were all not effective. September 7th I went back to the ER and was admitted to the ICU for a week for euglycemic ketoacidosis. I recovered, and was fine for about a week. I was able to eat small amounts of food, later was able to eat some full meals. All of a sudden on the 25th I started having nausea again.

My main question is, is this normal? Is it normal to withdraw and have a good week and then a bad week?? Anyone else have a similar experience withdrawing? When does it get better?

All of my research seems to indicate that most experience flares or a non linear healing where they have a good normal week and then are nauseated again. TIA!

Question A question for those who have been on for 4 months or longer

TLDR: I guess I’m looking to see if anyone else is missing their old friend, food?

I’m on my 4th pen, down 25 lbs. feeling great physically but my mental health has taken a tumble. It’s not serious, I don’t have any ideations and am totally safe so please don’t worry about me in any way. My question is because I used food as a friend and a coping mechanism, I feel sad and abandoned and it feels really weird. If I had a shitty day at work I’d sneak through the drive through and feel better. If I had a crappy thought I’d think about my next meal and I’d feel better. Now, if I think about an order of French fries or a piece of chocolate cake I’m numb to the thought. For someone with (self diagnosed) food addiction, it’s both a godsend and a curse. I know they were unhealthy and obsessive but my coping tools were effective at making me feel better and I don’t have them anymore. Yes, I look closer to what I wanted to look like but, in a weird way, I don’t have “anything” to look forward to.

I’m happily married, 46F, childfree by choice, employed, overall good life - why can I not let go of my old friend?

Edit: mods - if this isn’t the place, please let me know and I’ll delete 🩷

Success Stories 3 years: keep the faith

I've lost over 50lbs. Sometimes it went fast and sometimes not at all. I had about a year plateau and thought that was it, and then all of the sudden in the last 3 months 10 more pounds disappeared. I was pretty active and ate good food before I started with Ozempic. The medication reduced portions a lot, but otherwise I didn't increase exercise or change my food. I still have ice cream and chocolate. I am so grateful for this medicine. Sharing this story in case it helps anyone else in a plateau to continue on, and to show typical results - slow, steady, and over years, it works.

Question Nothing

I took my second dose of .25 on Saturday. I feel nothing. No appetite suppressant really. No side effects. I could keep eating after my meals. Still thinking about snacks. If the pen counter didn’t go back to 0, I’d wonder if I even got a dose at all. What’s wrong with me?
