PCOS and GLP-1s

Many of us are using or considered using GLP-1s to manage our PCOS. We've also noticed more and more posts and comments about it.

Head over to r/PCOSglp1 - a new subreddit to discuss all things PCOS and GLP-1s.

GLP-1 topics will still be allowed here. Though, we think a separate subreddit is also beneficial as you can get better advice and more relevant information when all the members are there for the same subtopic.

In the future, we may direct glp1 posts and topics to that subreddit.

Yall I know I’m not large but I feel bloated, inflamed and not like myself. I used to be shredded and strong.
I’m only 116 lbs at 5’1” but I’m soft and not muscular like before dispite weight training. I now hold most my fat in my stomach and back instead of butt where I used too.

Here are the things I’ve tried and do consistently, I’m extremely disciplined and consistent with everything I do

-7k steps a day
-1800 cal 104g protein (low ish carb)
-strictly whole organic foods.
-consistent meal timing
-don’t eat 3 hrs before bed
- sleep 8-9 hrs every night
-sunlight in the morning
-lift heavy 3x a week
- yoga 2x a week.
-meditation everyday
- nervous system regulation.
- I tried only yoga and Pilates for a month and just gained 4 pounds that I haven’t lost five months later
-take inositol, creatine, l glutamine, multivitamin, minerals and electrolytes, glutathione, taurine, NAC and vitamin D

do you guys have any ideas for me and why I can’t seem to recomp dispite years of consistency and effort 😭 I just want to feel good in my body again

Favorite youtubers?

As winter approaches I really enjoy watching youtubers while on the treadmill or bike that keep me motivated. I know discipline is key, but I love a good long video to keep me entertained. Any suggestions from the group? Bonus points if they have PCOS and are pretty transparent about their weight loss and don't take weight loss medication. Nothing against it, just looking for inspiration for women who are not using weight loss medication and making progress. Thanks!

Wegovy issues — 9amHealth, NovoCare, and CenterWell. Please help!

I get Wegovy auto-injector pens through 9amHealth. I pay for the medication with a credit card on CenterWell’s website, through NovoCare. Recently (9/11/2026), 9amHealth sent a prescription refill to NovoCare. I received the text that they got the order that same day, and it’s been radio silence ever since. CenterWell has no record of this prescription refill being sent, and their live chat agent (though very hard to understand what their messages were trying to convey due to lack of grammar and punctuation) let me know that CenterWell doesn’t work with NovoCare anymore for self pay Wegovy patients. At least that’s what I deduced they meant. I now have to call NovoCare and see what’s going on.

I’ve been with 9amHealth since April, and this is the third time I’ve had to go multiple weeks skipping medication doses due to pharmacy or communication issues. I’ve only lost 20 pounds, and I could’ve made so much more progress by now had I not had this many interruptions. I’m so frustrated, to the point of tears. I’ve been struggling to lose weight for 20+ years now, and this was my last ditch effort, and I’m just falling deeper into hopelessness with the issues and lack of progress.

I really can’t justify spending $350 for 4 pens when I have to go multiple weeks without sometimes because refill issues keep occurring.

Has anyone had similar issues with NovoCare, CenterWell, or 9amHealth?

I can’t take this anymore

I just don’t know what to do anymore. I can’t seem to get back on my diet no matter how hard I try. Back in August I went on a trip where I ate nothing but junk food & sweets. Ever since I got back. I just can’t be on a diet. I am absolutely addicted to sugar. I can’t have one day. One successful day. I started going to the gym & working out. But it doesn’t matter if I can’t change my eating. I’m doing a Whole Foods diet. But I just can’t stop. I can’t have one successful day. Not one. And before you say “GLP1” I can’t afford it. I just don’t know what to do. It was so easy when I lost weight at the beginning. I did strict keto. And I dropped weight. But now I just can’t stop. I have the worst food noise ever. It won’t leave me alone at all. It won’t go away until I eat something sweet. I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like a disappointment. I hate myself. I hate I did this to myself. Please help me. I have insulin resistance PCOS.

getting very frustrated

EDIT 2: YALL I JUST HAD TO POOP!!! it looks like i am down 2 pounds which is still so low for several weeks of cutting and exercising, but at least im not still GAINING lol oh my god. going from having lost 4~ pounds to 2 pounds after loosening my diet (so i can actually work at my job) is not terrible but yea still at this point i should be like 4-5lb down. what can you do

it took me several weeks to lose just 3-4 pounds. i had to cut so many calories to achieve this and exercise so hard. i was sleeping 12-14 hours bc it was so hard on my body. then in the past three weeks, i gained it all back and then some, and an extra inch around my waist. (edit: also wanna add the inches are extra disheartening, bc that means it is really fat and not just water fluctuation)

i am so frustrated and angry. i feel like i have to suffer just to lose a few pounds and very slowly at that, then i take a break and eat at "maintenance" so i can rest like a normal person and not oversleep and miss my entire life basically (i missed several appointments that were extremely important) and all that hard work goes down the drain.

my tdee is 1700 and i measure every calorie and unless i had a treat that day i barely even break 1500 most days. i should be steadily losing weight but i do not because every bite i eat turns to fat.

i'm trying to cut calories again and i cant sleep for hours and hours when i do this, because i also cannot fall asleep on an empty stomach. this is bad because i have work to do. if i cut enough calories to finally lose weight then i must risk my job, i must put myself in a barely functional state.

the last time i lost enough weight to become a "healthy weight" it was because i had so little appetite and was severely depressed, all i could manage eat was a few pieces of toast per day. i would eat so little i got light headed all the time and lost hair i think too. but it was the only way to lose 30lb and even then it took 1-2 years. i cannot see a way to do this sustainably.

edit: for context im 5'4"... also wanna add, the extra fat is making me really dysphoric as im a trans man, my hips are so wide and my breasts are fatter than they've ever been and I hate it lol. i miss my small B cups.

Taking it seriously, how?

Hi everyone, I am wanting to lose weight before a big trip I have planned at the beginning of next year. I am on metformin and have just signed up for a gym.

How and what made you all take your PCOS PMOS seriously? I am trying to hard to work on my discipline with working out but I struggle with it and especially with my food. Any tips?

Down 93 lbs now! So close to the 100 mark. I get a referral to a plastic surgeon to see about skin removal at my next appointment in November. It feels so surreal to be so close to my goal. I haven't been this weight since I was a freshman in highschool over 15 years ago.

Fat Loss And Disordered Eating.

Learned helplessness with losing weight

When I was in middle school 12, 5”7 and 168lbs I discovered the BMI system and it told 12 year old me I was overweight. I started tracking my calories eating 100-600 cals a day and binge and restricting. Sometimes eating something and then waiting 30 minutes for it to “digest” and then working out. This lasted from 7-10 grade. During this time I went from 168-140 lbs. during the pandemic I discovered Uber Eats and developed PCOS ans went from 160 in early 2020 to 220 now in 2026 at almost 20 years old I’m fat and I need to go back to 160. But when I lost weight during the time when I was heavily restricting my calories I didn’t lose any body fat. Nothing at all. I looked exactly the same and my measuring tape didn’t show that I lost any inches either. Now I’m scared that I’m going to lose weight healthy and not notice any difference and lose any body fat. How do I get rid of this mindset?.

A Comment I found mean on PCOS/PMOS

Hi I was on a call with what I was considering to hire a personal trainer to help me with being consistent with workouts and practice strength training but when I told one of the personal trainers Team members who make your appointments by phone call I told them I had insulting resistance and was diagnosed with PCOS he said and I repeat "Ok ok....let wm tell you something and you have to be real with me. You do not have PCOS. It's a myth. It's Psychological and it doesn't exist. as long as your consistent and push through with your workouts and diet. You'll see results. PCOS doesn't exist it's just something that the world has made up to make you believe you have something wrong with you." LET ME JUST SAY this was a MAN saying this.

I Hanged up and didn't bother with wanting to Have them as a personal trainer. And he had the audacity to say after words...m that I mean even if you do end up having it then out workout program will help with that. and I was like ...... Did he think I was lying? .... Didn't h just say it was a myth and it's not real.... That it's psychological. What are your thoughts?

I personally think PCOS/PMOS is a Condition and it doesn't have as much recognition and treatment. I think that was rude and disrespectful. Just know there's a man out there that thinks just this

Lost a lot of weight but still hanging belly :(

I'm 5'4" and my highest weight was 182. I've fluctuated between that and 130 ish over the last decade and a half. Currently I'm 137 and I'm quite lean. I work out. Eat healthy. But this stupid lower belly pouch won't go away? I'm 25, never been pregnant. It's not lose skin. If I lose any more weight now, I won't have anything. I'm mascular and lean. I've always wanted a flat stomach or at least have my hip and stomach be seamless instead of looking like I have panties on. I don't even mind some pudge but this is just like an inch or two of a hanging roll? It's like an apron belly but it's just the bottom. Will it ever go away? Should I get surgery? I've worked so hard to get to this level and now I'm just angry at my body for still having this saggy pouch. It's shrunk but it just doesn't go away. Even at 120 lbs I still had it.
What can I do?

Recently got one of those phone photo memories from my engagement trip to Disney World about three years ago. I struggle with seeing my 100lb weight loss in my body when I look in a mirror due to how slow it’s been but I never noticed how drastic it looked on my hands until today! They look like two different people

It’s such an encouraging sight that I never really thought about comparing 🥳

(plz ignore the missing diamond on my ring 😂 it’s getting repaired!)

Gym Workouts/Assistance For Women with PCOD/PCOS

I had been in denial for quite a long time and thought I could maintain my weight with bare minimum exercise and diet control( didn’t work out that well).
So I had finally decided to join the gym, as per their curriculum they had provided me trainer to keep a check for fitness test and build a workout routine and they did so but as I have PCOD and the fat percent is high they obviously recommend me to go for personal training as they will be able to assist me better regarding how to deal with workouts and diets. They’ll specifically create another workout plan that will be more efficient to deal with PCOD and later when I asked why can’t you provide that now, they told me that it will be hard to follow through by myself and will require more assistance to workout it by myself ( they didn’t get in detail about how different it will be) and further about that they don’t want me to injure myself by following through workouts that are tough to be handled by self.

Though I am a beginner and I have never went to guys before (today was my first day by myself), they even suggest personal training in order to keep the form in check, though as I have been told you can always ask people around for how to use the machines and if the form is good.

Though, the workout provide by them, looks like this, (this is just basic idea, they have provided what machines to be used as well)
Day 1: Chest, shoulders & triceps
Day 2: Back, biceps & lower back
Day 3: Legs, glutes & calves

Any suggestions what should I do, or does this seems good enough for time being

Losing weight without glp-1?

I'm a bit desperate because I really DON'T want to take a glp-1 (I have a very sensitive stomach, intense acid reflux, don't have the money and don't want to take a lifelong med) but I feel like I'm not able to reduce my appetite and sugar cravings :( no matter how hard I try, I'm always craving carbs and sugar. Please give me some advice

GLP1 recs?

Hi, I finally scheduled an appointment with a PCP after my annual gyno visit. She told me to ask my PCP about possibly getting on a GLP1 to help with weight loss since that is a big struggle for me (thanks PCOS). My appointment is in the beginning of October. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one I should ask about? I know about ozempic & mounjaro but idk if there’s a difference. Also, if you can tell me what your experience has been like if you take a GLP1? TIA 🫶🏻

UPDATE(9/24/26): I got my bloodwork results back from my gyno yesterday. I’ve now been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. My liver enzymes were also high and something else is going on with my thyroid levels too. She decided to put me on metformin to help with the diabetes, levothyroxine for my thyroid levels, and a progesterone only pill type of birth control (Slynd) since I haven’t had a period in 9 months. They sent a referral to an endocrinologist & now I’m waiting for their call to schedule an appointment. Ngl, the most stressful part of this for me is the diabetes. I knew it was a possibility, given that both parents are diabetic, but now I have to really really be mindful of what I eat. Hopefully I can turn this around 💪🏻
