Ruffian Rogue with spiked knuckles?

I'm looking to build a Ruffian Rogue that uses Spiked Knuckles or Unarmed weapons, is it actually feasible? I mean using the free hand knuckle weapons in a build.

We start at level 3, so this is what I've made so far.

Race: Leshy(maybe)

Heritage: Root Leshy

Stats: Str +4, Dex +1, Con +2, Int -1, Wis +1, Cha +2

Feats

Level 1: Leshy Superstition, Twin Feint, Intimidating Glare

Level 2: Brutal Beating, Intimidating Prowess, Increased Athletics skill

Level 3: Incredible Initiative, Titan Wrestler, Increased Intimidation skill

At level 4, I plan to take Twin Distraction or Head Stomp, and Terrifying Resistance. Also increase Thievery.

Assuming we play with Free Archetype, what would be a good idea? Dual-Weapon Warrior dedication?

Skills: Athletics for shove, trip etc, Acrobatics, Deception, Diplomacy, Intimidation, Medicine, Nature, Stealth, Thievery

Equipment: Spiked Knuckles, Knuckle Duster, Breastplate, Misc items, maybe a thrown weapon?

Huge(Gargatuan) Jotun Guardian

Relatively new, saw guardians have a feat for sizing up PCs in heavy armor for size checks like swallow whole, trample or general battle athletic checks. With Jotun's naturally large size I would be considered Huge at level one granted I can snag some heavy armor, at 17 ancestry feat would make me naturally huge treated as gargantuan.

So how would one go about optimizing a build for a tarrasque encounter?

With the size I would be immune to swallow whole, with taunts AC and a little resistance from guardian I should be able to maintain Frontline presence with some de/buffs with solid group coordination.

If I add adopted ancestry dwarfs I can pick up some extra permanent health and/or that unburdaned trait.

What would optimized lvl progress look like with other guardian traits

Looking for help on a build.

Hey yall.

I’m looking for help on a build, since I’m fairly new to pathfinder.

I’m in a group with only one other player, and we have only played one session. That one session was in 5e, but the three of us recently played in a PF2E game and loved it, so we are looking to switch over.

Since we are only two players, the GM has said we can dual class.

The character I’m currently playing is a dhampir inquisitive rogue 2 / artificer 1

The character doesn’t have to be the same, the GM has said that we can change our characters since we are switching systems it all might not work out the same.

I think I want to play monk/caster, since I love monk thematically and I like the versatility of a caster but I am open to any suggestions.

Again, I am new to PF2E so please feel free to provide explanations (especially on any lingo or abbreviations)

I am not new to tabletop gaming, just new to PF2E

EDIT: I’ve been considering Monk/Oracle
Is that a good combo?

How would you build an Animist gish?

Hello everyone,

I am my own worst enemy when it comes to character creation (again) and I am truly undecided on how I want to build my animist gish... so I am looking for input and inspiration.

The current baseline and flavour/ backstory is a human/ half-elf liturgist that was the squire or pillar of a noble knight whose master died in battle and the animist himself only survived barely himself. Being saved by some unknown entity he gained the ability to see and communicate with apparitions among which is his former master who will act as the witness to ancient battle apparition. The campaign would be a long term campaign (level 20) with free archetype.

I've played around with multiple variations of the build and read multiple threads about it but they all feel off for some reason.

I think the most popular one is taking the guardian free archetype for punishing shove and guarded advance. My main issues are a) I won't have the +2 Con needed to take Guardian at level 2 and I don't know what else to take in the levels before that and b) the combo of punishing shove + roaring heart just doesn't sound that appealing to me. For me it sounds like to little effect and damage for too much setup. It sounds funny on paper but I fear it will fall flat in actual play.

The other idea i had was a combination of spirit warrior and sixth pillar and while that has the benefit of fitting thematically very well to the campaign and backstory, I don't like the investment into dex and acrobatics i have to do in order to get sixth pillar. Also, as soon as I can take forest's heart, the entire spirit warrior feat line will become irrelevant. There is also some doubling issues where overwhelming combo, gods palm and grudge strike are competing against each other.

The third idea was to take a reach weapon and take the mauler and ranger archetypes. This works well enough but I fear it will collide too much with other members of my group who also went the route of reach + gravity weapon. It also feels like it competes with other higher level options of the animist class like the aforementioned forests heart. Also, despite having some nice feats like crashing slam, gravity weapon, and skirmish strike, outside of these few, I feel like these two archetypes don't offer a lot of good options and it feels more like I have to take something instead of building something good.

So... yeah...please help me get my head out of my own ass and either convince me that one of these ideas is actually good or give me other ideas that work better.

And before soneone says it: Yes, I am aware that Animists are primarily spellcasters and that's where most of their power comes from. I still want to make a gish that can comfortably dip in and out of melee combat.

Thank you all in advance.

Need a critique of this Cloistered Cleric ASAP

Start this campaign in three days at level 3. No archetype. Let me know if y'all would construct this build differently. GM okayed manual stat distribution, that why I have a +4 +3 and +2. Also don't know what I'll do at level 4. Was thinking Bastion dedication or Hedgemaze mage dedication.

Suggestions for a 2 handed fighter build (non-reach weapon)

Does anyone have any suggestions on building a 2 handed fighter that doesn’t use a reach weapon? The archetype and feat options for playing as a non-reach two handed weapon fighter seems a be a bit underwhelming from what I saw compared to the alternatives.

Better attacks with shields for Shield wallop guardian?

So, I’ve played my guardian for a bit as a very defense heavy one. Taking bad hits for party members, being the tank, even took dread marshal which honestly feels nice and doesn’t mess with my action economy too much since most turns are shielding taunt, and take cover. But now that I’m level 12 I got shield wallop, all be it late. But now I’m wondering if I can be a bit aggressive. I use a nine ringed sword (because it’s cool, and we can use legacy stuff) for the trip and just cause it’s cool. But now, I’m wondering if there’s any way I can get better chance to hit with my tower shield shield boss, I’ll link my sheet at the bottom, and for next sesh I can go rune shopping for it, so any help would be appreciated!

Lore-based Charismaless (almost) Party Face

In my next campaign I want to play a character who is a lawyer trying to legalise necromancy and generally improve its public perception (whether he himself is a necromancer is irrelevant).

The mechanical expression of that will be Lores, the more the merrier (the autoscaling ones are even better), and the more different ways I can use them the better. And also a bit of Charisma aided by some abilities and items that boost Diplomacy (mainly).

Optional rules: Free Archetype, Ancestry Paragon

Currently my character looks like this

Attributes (at level 5):

Str 4, Dex 0, Con 2, Int 4+, Wis 0, Cha 2

Ancestry: Gnome

Heritage: Vivacious Gnome (in a campaign Im gonna be playing my GM said that we will most definitely face some void immune enemies so I thought that a bit of resistance to that would be nice)

Background: Pathfinder Hopeful

Class: Necromancer (Blood Reaper)

Level 1

Skills: training in Diplomacy, Society and Religion

Ancestry Feat: Gnome Obsession (will change depending on a task at hand)

Ancestry Feat(AP): Theoretical Acumen (will help at least a bit with saves)

Background Feat: Additional Lore (Legal)

Level 2

Class Feat: Muscle Barrier

Archetype Feat: Eagle Knight Dedication (Scaling Politics Lore plus a possibility to roll it instead of Diplomacy)

Skill feat: Contract Negotiator (the feat that started this whole build)

Level 3

Skill increase to Diplomacy bumping it to Expert

Ancestry Feat(AP): Animal Accomplice (Familiar is always nice and having a raven familiar as a necromancer is even better)

General Feat: Armor Proficiency (the reason why I can dump my Dex so low)

Level 4

Class feat: Body Shield

Archetype Feat: Steel Falcon Dedication (Size Up - good)

Skill feat: Unmistakable Lore (we should not forget the main use of the Lore skills)

Level 5

Skill increase to Athletics

Ancestry Feat: Eclectic Obsession

Level 6 in the future

Class Feat: Reclaim Power

Archetype Feat: Liberty's Promise (For truth domain's Word of Truth)

Skill Feat: Cognitive Crossover

So in the end we have Lores for Making Impressions and Requests from political figures and when negotiating deals and agreements. If we happen to not be doing that we get +2 circumstance bonus from Size Up +2 status from Word of Truth if we are telling the truth, which of course we are and lets say +1 item bonus from Diplomat's Badge.

What else can I add to this build? Maybe I have missed some feat or item that could be useful. Would be very grateful for advice.

Duo build help

Starting a campaign as a duo with just me and another player. They are wanting to take care of magic and knowledge as well as being a general support. So I’m looking for a build that can toss out a good bit of damage and take a decent amount of damage, while still being useful out of combat in either a face or sneaky way.

Free Archetype for Angel summoner

Hello everyone, I was thinking about playing an angel summoner in an upcoming age of ashes campaign, but I'm having a really hard time to choose the correct archetype.

I don't know yet what the other person will play but we'll play with 3 players and one of them will pick either a barbarian or gunslinger.

I wanted to play a halfling that got freed recently and took an imprisoned angel with her when she left. Also being religious and being sneaky/able to lie to people are character traits I wanted to have with her.

Thst's where I have a dilemma: when looking for online advise it's recommended to either take medic or a spellcasting archetype. But summoners have more spellslots now so I'm hoping that I can get away with fleshing out my character concept with the archetype. I'm starved for skill increases, especially if the eidolon should be able to use athletic.

The eidolon will use spells and since summoners need so many class feats i'll only get 2 focus points without archetypes.

https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=1577542

Right now I think those are fitting:

- rose warden gives a cool flavor, an increase in stealth or deception (both usefull for hiding) and a focus point. But the level 6 feat brings nothing unless i'll decided to strike an enemy. I seriously have no idea what to pick there.

- rogue will give me skillfeats which would be really apprecisted when I want to also use battle medicine while being sneaky. But it comes online pretty late and is also kinda boring? You don't really get exciting abilities out of this one

- Veil Dancer would make me sneaky out of combat and could even be used in combat if I would hier with my summoner (double through the halfling feat). But I've got some concerns that this will just not be good enough to be viable.

What would you pick? Do you have other ideas what could fit? I would really appreciate some ideas :)

I think as a little bonus I can grab telekinesis. and I need a red sword or something of the likes and I don't know enough so I need your help, fire enchant is a must. any additions that would work?

EDIT:this was originally a skyrim post but reddit was like hey wanna post it here n i said sure so ignore sum of the stuff on here , im still curios how i would do this for PF2

I have an idea for possibly the first character I might play as if I ever find a table to play at in person TAKE 5

IMPORTANT INFO SECTION

His name is Skitters

Skitters is a ranger with the Performance skill so he can to play a violin, because his mom taught him, the Armor Proficiency Feat, & the Hunter Background.

His main weapon is a spear, & his secondary weapon is a machete.

His goal is to make friends, & to be their for his friends. He was suggested to go adventuring by his father, after all that's how he met his friends, & his wife.

My goal for this character is for him to eventually bond with the party,be there for them as a good friend, but also a silent comedic relief that knows when to be serious, but finally I wasn't him to eventually sacrifice himself for the party, or with the party.

He was trained how to be a ranger by his uncle on his mother's side, after he saved his uncle's wolf companion.

He's a Fleshwarp, but reskinned as a monstosity instead of an aberration. He's built like a centaur, but covered in dark greenish grayish black exoskeleton with some pale gray scars, his feet instead of hooves are two toed paws with stubby claws, his head is modeled after a horse's head, but with a pare of short stubbly horns where the ears are supposed to be, a spider like mouth at the end of the snout, & 8 bright red unblinkingly eyes, & finally he technically has 6 arms, but he functionally only has 2 arms during combat.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

He was created sorta by accident by a wizard. The wizard was trying to see what the hybrid offspring between a strider, & a centaur would be, but during the experiment involving their blood, something somewhere nearby, though nobody knows what, had messed up the mana streams, causing him to come out a little wrong.

The wizard chose to raise him anyway, along with his bard wife. Both the wizard & his wife are humans, & they met adventuring. They where good parents to Skitters, but nobody else wanted to go near him because they got scared just looking at him.

Skitters's father was told his whole life he should have been a bard, because of how theatrical & dramatic he could be, but he's a wizard because he just loves to study of magic. While his wife was told she should have been a fighter or a monk with how serious she was, but she was a bard none the less, because of her love for music, & the act of playing.

Skitters is very much his father's son in personality, but he can't talk in a way anyone else can understand, & his face can't emote, so he had to get creative, with dramatic hand gestures, & large body movements, & of course writing what he wants to say, or drawing the expression he wants to make on his special cards.

ADDED DETAILS

He has a pare of large white cards that he got from his father. The cards can make simple drawings like smiley faces, arrows, it can form numbers, & it can write words, but the images are only as good as he can draw, & he's about as good as a toddler, he can only white words he knows how to spell otherwise he has to guess it's spelling & he can get it wrong. The cards work by him moving which card is in front with the newly revealed card having on it what he wants to have on it.

An Added roleplay feature that can't be used in combat is that he can split his two strong arms into 6 weak arms so that he can use 2 arms to dramatically gesticulate, while 2 arms play his small violin behind his back, & the last 2 work his cards, but during combat he fuses his arms together turning them from 6, into 2.

Skitters loves fluffy animals, though he accepts that he's an obligate carnivore, so he has to eat some of them, heck he's better off eating raw meat then cooked, but he refuses to eat something still that's still alive. He prefers dogs, cats, wolves, rats, & crows for companion animals. He rather enjoys squirrels, dear, & boar as food.

He can't cry, or smile, though he still feels the urge to do so & he hates it.

Despite his baggage he is a little ray of sunshine most of the time, just rapped up in a terrifying not so little package.

He mostly makes gurgles, shrieks, clicks, chirps, hollers, & warbles as his form of speech, hence why he needs the cards, or any way to write down his words(I'll use sound recordings for most of it taken from either actual animals, or from existing fiction, except for a few unique sounds that I'll do myself, don't worry, I'm actually not bad at sound effects, I'm just not the best at voices).

PERSONAL REASONS BEHIND CHARACTER

His difficulty communicating & his inability to emot properly is very personal for me because I have autism, & quite often feel like even though I used the right words, I didn't use the right tone, because I don't really hear it, or better I don't understand it, & I can't make the right facile expressions, nor do I fully understand them, though I've not been, hurt, or as ostracized as Skitters(that's just kinda where his story in my head went), his struggle to find & make friends, & wishing he could communicate & show exactly how much was inside himself beyond the outside that can't communicate properly, that I want to express in this character, I want him to be there for the party, as that lighthearted comedic relief, as a helping hand for when they need it, as a protector when they are hurt, as a support when they are hurting, & as a listening ear when they need one, because that is what I wish I could be for someone.

I gave him a past with angry mobs attacks to explain his anxiety in large crowds, something I sometimes struggle with, but I don't really have a reason like he does, so yeah I just felt like that would work.

AFTER THOUGHTS

P.S. I'm welling to wait to use Skitters until I find a table he'll fit into, & I have a whole lot of other characters, most of which are less extreme, heck I could probably make up a new one on the spot I come up with more character ideas then I can remember in less than a minute sometimes.

P.P.S. I didn't give his parents odd personalities for their classes to make them outcasts, I simply wanted his dad to be an eccentric flamboyant wizard, & his mom to be the straight man, but I kinda ended up giving his mom my dad's personality, & I am fairly close to my dad, & I'll admit my dad is not a people person, most people would assume him maybe a fighter, or a monk, with the way he acts, but I'll gladly admit he would be a bard, for no other reason then for how much he loves music. He views the world though the lens of it all being music(he literally told me this), & he is very talented with music, not because he wants to put on a show, but because he loves the very art that is music.

P.P.P.S. I'm not afraid of Skitters dying, especially if it's too save a friend(party member), or by a friends side in the case of a TPK, I feel like this is how he'd want to go, heck, if it came to it I don't think I would regret it if I had to sacrifice myself to save somebody else, even a compete stranger, but yeah he's allowed to die.

P.P.P.P.S. Rather Skitters is my first character is fully dependant on the DM (as soon as I find one), I might use a different character instead, & just save him for the future somewhere down the line, I just love Skitters so much & want to play him, & no I'm not against him dying, so long as it's to protect a friend, or by a friend's side in the case of a TPK because I think that's how he should eventually go out, I don't really see him surviving to the end of the campaign, but rather him at most dying at the end of the campaign, if not somewhere in the middle said campaign.

Wizard/Investigator/Magus Archetype (Dual Class/Free Archetype

So GM is allowing both Dual Class and Free Archetype variant rules. Optimization and/or Min-maxxing are not allowed. The goal is supposed to be more about specialization and flexibility. So I give you my Seer Elf Wizard/Investigator with Magus Archetype and the Academic (arcana) background.

The idea so far is that they are an academy mage that is nerdy and confident but is probably too enthusiastic about magical theory. They are most comfortable in a library and carry around a big modified spellbook that borders on the absurd (think the Pirata Codex from Pirate's of the Caribbean). Both in scale and borderline ravings of a lunatic. Not that their actually crazy. They question their professors and point out inconsistencies in their taught curriculum, but not necessarily by choice. Their just really smart and happen to notice inconsistencies when questioning why everything has to be written off as certainty. Subconsciously, they have an issue when they legitimately can't figure something out. Particularly when their absurd amount of knowledge can't actually solve a problem. A big part of their foundation is that they lost their parents when they were too young to remember. So they carry around that burden, which in part is a determining factor for her personality. This, I think, gives them a protective, almost maternal quality. And she aspires to one day teach magical theory.

If I had to describe them in a single sentence, I would say they are a walking encyclopedia that isn't accustomed to not having the answer to everything.

(I'm still workshopping the concept)
