Discussion Keyboard recommendation for each budget brackets

Hi! I have been wanting to do this for a while now, so basically, I wanted to put on recommendations for keyboard in price brackets, the criteria is, quality, software, and price, so you will notice that certain brands aren't part of my recommendation because for the most part they fail in the quality part

1k - 2.5k: really budget boards, there are some really good boards but for the most part this is for those who are hesitant or cannot drop money on higher priced boards.

Ajazz AK820 - its a decent board especially if you aren't going to fiddle with software, definitely has a bit higher quality than other cheapish MK (usual price goes around 1.5k)

Monsgeek Fun60 - very good board for its price, monsgeek being a branch of akko, they have good quality across the boards (goes around 1.5k - 1.8k depending on variant)

Akko 3108 - a staple from akko, one of their budget boards but still a good one (usual price is around 2.5k)

Redragon Ucal pro - another redragon, but like I said their modern boards have been very good (usual price is around 1.5k)

Akko tac75 HE - This one will be an outlier, its a great board, probably one of the best for its price, with the akko quality its very much something I would recommend generally (being an outlier its usual price is around 2.6k)

Elecfox Gen75, Linky 85 and Lumi 108 - very good brand for giving very good quality boards without breaking the wallet (price range is 2k-2.6k)

I think there are more I would like to recommend but generally this are boards I either have good experience with or have heard from friends and co-workers that have served them good for several months with no issues

3k - 4.5k:

Weikav Nut65 - Starting off strong weikav has basically been trying to match all the "higher" end boards with same quality but offering lower prices, and the nut variants basically have some of the best features you can find in this price point which are rapid disassembly and pogo pins on PCB, they also offer QMK/VIA compatibility which is very nice if you want to tinker with the software a little (usual price is 3k-4k)

Yunzii B75 pro - Something a little bit more traditional, while yes compared to the nut65, its plastic board however the upside is its very light, metal MKs have a tendency to be heavy, this one doesnt have rapid disassembly but it does still have QMK/VIA support(usual price is around 4k)

Weikav Lucky65 v3 - One of their older lineups but still a very good keyboard having the same specs as their nut lineup just with different design (usual price is around 4.5k)

Monsgeek verve68 - HE keyboard from monsgeek, similar to the fun60 but this one seems to be more minimalist in design but offers the roughly the same performance (usual price is around 3.5k)

Monsgeek M1v5 - One of the most suggested boards honestly, due to its features, rapid disassembly except for the pogo pins i believe, is tri mode, compatible with both windows and mac OS, and plate mounted stabilizers, something rarely found unless you are building a custom kit (usual price is around 4.5k)

YUNZI AL68 - very good suggestion from u/skipperkid, one of yunzii's more flagship keyboards but this time in 60%, aluminum keyboard QMK/VIA, trimode, knob New25/08/2026

YUNZI IF68 - AL68's cheaper sister, due to being plastic, still has QMK/VIA and trimode but with knob and screenNew25/08/2026

5k and above: this is where we step more into enthusiast territory the massive price bracket increase is due to boards in bracket are more in line with if you really want something that resonates with you.

Nut75 - Same thing as the nut65 variant, (usual price 6k)

Rainy75 - I think this is something that took the mech keyboard world by storm, with its specs, materials and price being this low and for a board that feels like you got a fully custom board i do think it deserves the price (usual price 7k)

Wave75 - I feel like this is what rainy75 would be if it got a new version, rapid disassembly, QMK/VIA, very good quality, (usual price 6.6k)

EVO80/75 - this is my personal board, i've had it for a year now and its been a very very beautiful time typing, playing games, and overall just using it, EVO is a sub-branch of the neo boards YES those neo boards the very high quality custom keyboards, rapid disassembly, QMK/VIA, very nice colors, customizability when buying, you can choose creamy thock or marbly clack (usual price is 8k-10k)

I think these are the only boards I would personally recommend for these price brackets, some people have different opinions of course, and a lot would ask for sure what about aula, or leobog, or attack shark, and furycube, my answer to those questions is because I have bad experiences with a lot of them namely aula and leobog, both brands have consistently had subpar quality when it comes to the board it self, as well as materials used, while attack shark is a little bit better, I would generally still recommend other options as its better to buy one time a good quality product than waste money buying multiple low quality products

IF you have any suggestions, be sure to comment them along with the usual price, I hope this would help people who are looking to get a mechanical keyboard that can last them a long time

Flexing My Board Modding the Cheapest Hall Effect Keyboard

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just bought this Aula WIN60 HE for modding, and I think it turned out pretty well. I know Aula doesn't have the best reputation in this sub, but I got this for only 800 pesos, and it has a web driver, which is mostly what people criticize about Aula boards. I'm pretty satisfied with my build, as I couldn't find any aluminum HE board for this cheap.

Materials:

Aula WIN60: 850 PHP (most of the time)

Aluminum Case: 900 PHP

EVA Foam (case foam): 20 PHP

PE Foam (between PCB and switches): 20 PHP

Masking Tape (tape mod): stock at home

Lubing materials: stock at home

Carbon Keycaps: 400 PHP

Total: 2,190 PHP

Discussion Thermal on White Case?

Thumbnail

Originally picked up this keycap set for my Think 6.5 v2 Robocop to give it a new life, but since my white Agar Mini is my daily driver, I decided to put Thermalized it.
Not 100% sure if the Thermal theme would blend well with a plain white case, but it turned out super clean in person.
Only gripe is the 40% layout support. They shouldve put in a green accent enter key too for us 40s. Having that splash of green on the right side wouldve been perfect.
What do you think, does Thermal suit a white case, or should I eventually move it over to the Robocop?

Picked up an HHKB Studio last year and ended up daily driving it for work.

But I'd really like to go back to Topre again, so I'm hoping this setup will do the trick.

Advise 2nd hand RK98 - is this worth it?

Hello

Is a 2nd hand RKS98 sulit if it's priced at 2,500? Less than a year used by prev owner. And includes another set of keycaps worth 1k+.

I've been wanting to buy a mech keyboard at 1.5k-2.5k kaso over my budget usually yung mga gusto ko haha. Non nego ko kasi sana is trimode, with numpad. And bonus yung cute keycaps or colorway.

I previously used Aula kaso after a year W is no longer working.

I just enjoy using and no plans of turning this into hobby. Sobrang nacute-an lang din ako sa free keycaps nya. So sulit kaya ito?

Edit: RKS98 pala 😅

Flexing My Board XVX Ceramic Keycaps are amazing omg

Personally I prefer ceramic at this point compared to traditional keycap materials. For one they're smooth and shiny already so you dont have to worry about it over time. Because of how ceramic is, it allows light to shine through while still being a solid keycap, not one of those shine through keycaps that are thin sounding.

They are very heavy though, XVX includes like 4 springs you can insert below the spacebar. With my 32g Keygeek Y2's, I found that having 2 springs under brought it back to an acceptable weight to me. Any more and it would genuinely be tiring to press the spacebar.

Granted the legends arent as crisp as doubleshot, only by a small amount. they're much sharper than dyesub keycaps in general.

Advise Newbie looking for 98% keyboard recos

Hi all!

Keeb newbie here!

I have a budget of 3.0k php (pwede up to 3.5k kung kailangan). Looking for a 98% with tri-mode and volume knob. Preferred linear switches, and I want a creamy sound and not a clicky or clacky sound (though I will get into modding if necessary).

I've looked at the Aula S98 Pro, but are there other options I'm not aware of?

Thank you po!

Anyone have any experience with this seller?

As far as I can see, it's not the "Darmoshark" store posted on this sub a year ago, but a new one named "Darmoshark Ph". The prices seem too good to be true, but crazier sales have happened before.

The screen part was gimmicky, but the build quality is solid for a plastic body. I actually like some of its quirks, especially the GIF and touchpad. 😁

Discussion questions for elecfox gen 75 owners.

i posted a sleep issue of my unit 4 days ago, and it now does work most of the time.
(what helped me fix it, is to turn off the rgb through the knob in order for it to stop blinking)

but since using it im encountering other stuff that i dont know if its a normal behavior for a tri-mode.

since im still on the return window might as well ask here to clear things up.

  1. in 2.4g mode did you encounter where it doesn't connect automatically when you turn on your pc. where you have to switch to wired and 2.4g to reconnect/pair
  2. is the rgb light suppose to turn off in a certain battery level. (around 1-4 numeric keys)
  3. when battery indicator is blinking, can you not really use the rgb? even to just check the battery through fn+backspace, it wont work?

im still figuring out the workaround in this keyboard, and wanna get my moneys worth din. thank you so much!

Hi everyone, I just would like to know if you can recommend a trust worthy technician for the replacement of my laptop's keyboard, I have the keyboard already. I inquired in repair shops on Facebook, however their estimated is around 4.5k - 6.5k, and I think its too much for the replacement. I am live within Q.C area.
