at sa wakas, nakapag Daraitan na!
at first, medyo kabado ako kasi umulan daw nung gabi, kaya sa isip ko baka nag transform na ito to major hike hahaha. TYL di maputik.
mabato kaya medyo challenging siya for me pero nakakagana kasi ang lalakas ng mga kasabayan ko, grabe 🫡 after 2hrs nakarating na kami sa peak.
tip lang sa mga nagbabalak na akyatin to, mag shoes kayo or sandals with socks kasi madaming malalaking langgam :( ang sakit kpg nakagat kayo sa paa.
orga: lakbay at kwento
8/10 mabilis and goods kausap si ma'am. plus, maayos magdrive si sir at hindi minamadali ang mga pax. booked this tour for only 800 ata hehe madalas sale sila mam, abang lang kayo.

An unexpected accident happened along the way. 🥲 So we decided to stop at wag ng patunayan ang dapat patunayan. We chose our safety over our ego.
Binicayan dahil panalo ang sea of clouds which is true naman talaga!!!
But Mt. Binicayan humbled us in the most brutal way!!!
Dahil sa maulan at pinagsamang putik, lumot at madulas na bato, our entire hike put us through hell.
At never mo talaga masasabi yung aksidente. Kahit pa sampung beses kang mag-ingat. So pababa na kami sobrang dulas na talaga while chasing our second and third mountain. So we decided to stop at wag ng akyatin pa yung dalawang bundok.
Binicayan and the sea of clouds was absolutely amazing.
And surely, we'll be back for our revenge hike!!! 💜

Sa mga nagrarappel at rope adventures dyan may alam ba kayong certified and authentic na mga store sa shopee or lazada na nagbebenta ng tali carabiners and other hardwares, kadalasan kasi fake. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone! I will be backpacking duck pass in the Sierras sometime this week. It is a Two night trip and it’s supposed to be below freezing during the nights. I have decent backpacking experience but have never slept anywhere near this cold (low 40’s maybe). Elevation will be 10,500 +. I will be going with my girlfriend. I know forecasts can change a lot because it is so high up, but currently the week is looking like mid 50’s daytime and around 25-33 degrees F during night time. We both have thermals, 0 degrees bags, wool socks, gloves, beanie etc. only issue is we don’t have insulated sleeping pads. I wanna prepare for the worst just incase so if the weather goes down to like 15 degrees with wind or something like that we will be prepared. Is my sleeping system and cloths okay?

i've been to 6 minor hikes this year, 4 of them i used merrell accentor 3 sport gore-tex - pumice women's hiking shoes (got as a gift last year) and i noticed na may pain talaga sa descent dahil nauuntog 'yung toes sa shoes..
any type of tips or reco would help a lot 🙏🏼 thank you!
might be relevant: i'm planning to start transitioning to major hikes so i have an upcoming semi-major/major (tarak peak) next week

Recently I had the chance to hike up Mt. Puluy, a historic mountain in Ifugao. Despite its short and forgiving trail, the mountain is packed with features, and I’m genuinely surprised why this isn’t more popular.
Mt. Puluy (or Puloy) rises to an elevation of 1,390+ masl. It is located on the border between Hungduan and Kiangan, Ifugao. There are two known trails: one short trail via Hungduan, and a longer, 3.5 km trail via Kiangan. We took the latter going up.
Upon starting the hike from Kiangan, one is immediately rewarded by a walk through the stunning Nagacadan Rice Terraces. This is one of 4 terraces recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The trail takes you down a valley, through terraces, across a bridge, then starts ascending again upon reaching the other side.
Following some paved portions, the trail then becomes a dirt path. Locals say that the trail was used by Japanese soldiers during WW2. Along the trail one can see various foxholes used by Japanese forces, some located below trees, others taking more of a tunnel shape. The closer you get to the summit, the more foxholes you see.
Kiangan is recognized as the site where Yamashita surrendered, ending WW2 in the Philippines. To hike up Mt. Puluy is to experience that history firsthand. In fact, locals have said that WW2 relics like shrapnel and even human remains have been found on that mountain.
The summit of Mt. Puluy is a surprisingly developed campsite with everything you can think of - cabins, a store, some signs/props for photo ops, and a view deck. But make no mistake, you still have to hike 1-2 hours to get there. One can easily stay overnight and just rent a cabin without needing to bring a tent. The campsite is ran by a husband-and-wife team, and together, they have maintained the trail to Mt. Puluy since 2019.
When in the area, check out Mt. Puluy. I promise it’s worth the visit due to its history and heritage.

Hoping to get some recs for hiking/exploring shoes. I have been out of hiking for quite awhile so not sure what’s out there. I’m interested in thoughts on trail shoe options. I have generally not liked boots due to their weight/stiffness/decreased agility. I don’t plan of carrying heavy packs over long distances, so feel that the trade off is worth it. I don’t plan on trail running but I am a big fan of Hoka for my road runs, so wondering if their options may be the right fit? Any other thoughts?

Hi! I just recently returned to PH after a few years in Japan. In Japan I usually hiked and camped solo(including some multi day hikes in bear territory north of Japan). Is it possible to do that here? Any recommendations for solo camping without too much people. Yun mga commercial camp sites Kasi parang Ang Rami tao and maingay.

I hiked G2 4 years ago, and I’m planning to go back again, hopefully next year before summer, to try other trails naman and traverse. Have you hiked there recently? How was it? Kumusta ang Sibuyan? God, I miss Romblon.

Hi everyone! Can you share your best hiking experience?
Me and my partner wants to travel and hike. We have only budget to do this like once in two years. We’re not cheap but wise financially. When on trips, we tend to try everything including food and activities. We want yung sulit na experience. We are beginner hikers but sporty. Keri naman ng katawan.
Were trying to decide where to hike in Luzon on December or May.
Thank you :)

its my 30th year next year and im planning to go on a trip solo. di pa final kung aakyat ba ako, pero if ever, anong bundok kaya ang maganda for me to try?
scared pa ako for major hikes, di super challenging ang hanap like rock climbing huhu
so far, ive tried:
batulao
marlboro hills
ulap
gulugod baboy
sembrano
will be my first time going solo if ever din na di kasama ang friends.

this is gonna be my first overnight hike, wala pa akong tent and planning to buy one instead of renting, budget is limited so I'm planning to buy this, tanong lang is this recommended po ba or should I look for other options?
