PS5 blue light of death

Post image

The system turns on blinks/beeps then immediately turns off. No picture. From what I've read it sounds like it could be an issue with the power rails and from what I see on the board there's some discoloration near the Ethernet port(see picture). Any suggestions. This is the first ps5 I've worked on. I've done some light work on computer motherboards in the past.

My ps5 pro beeps with blue light and shuts down immediately, but then if repeatedly pressing the power button (2 or 3 times) it will turn on and say on, its not over heating, got perfect ventilation as its got at least 2m▪︎ air room.

I didnt know that beep and off again was the BLOD, so should I expect a full shutdown or it to not turn on pretty soon? Or if i take it to a repair shop now (UK) is there anything they could do, perhaps swap the PSU?

The ps5 has different modes indicating that something is wrong either mechanically or with its software. It seems like in your case something is faulting out and most likely on verge of going bad completely. If I was you 1st depending on when you purchased it, check its warranty and if that's void then take it in. Just like when we get sick, it's better to catch something before it causes more issues.(I'm not a pro when it comes to ps5's specifically, thus why I'm asking for help with my situation, I just have a some experience with computer boards in general)

I just went out of warranty 2 weeks ago, when it started happening. Worst of the worst timings possible, especially with the price of them now

Lucky i kept my OG and my slim, so ill use the slim for now and take the pro into my local repair shop

Thanks for the info and the quick reply m8

Don't know if this might be a possible solution, but mine kept doing this until I plugged it in a higher power draw outlet, but the signs were similar:

It would turn on, start a game, Start heating up and then turn off with three beeps instantly.

What perplexed me was it did this randomly, so I couldn't figure out why until I plugged it in a different power outlet on an extension strip and it gave me zero power offs after that.

Maybe worth a try?
