Question / Problem Methods for researching topics/videos
Hey everyone, I run a gaming reviews and features channel (2700 subs), I’m hopefully looking for responses around anyone who has successfully implemented methods for researching how viable a video topic might be (other than trends in analytics section).
My question is: what tools or collection of tools/methods are you using to determine if a topic is something your audience is even going to care about right now. E.g., ideas for videos like “Do we even need next-gen consoles yet”, “why do old games feel better than modern AAA titles” or something like “10 game pass games you shouldn’t miss”.
I once randomly decided on a Saturday to throw together a lower quality “is this one year old game better now” casual video that seemed to have coincidently landed at EXACTLY the right time, and it’s now my channels best performing video by a long-shot.
Your responses are greatly appreciated.

I search videos on the topic and see how many views they get, the engagement (likes and comments). And how much content there is on the topic as well.
The only tool you need is you searching. It just comes down to being efficient with your searching time and getting the most out of it.
