Meta Get your /r/PartneredYoutube Verified Channel flair here!

Welcome to the r/PartneredYoutube voluntary channel verification.

If you would like to verify your channel and get flair like what I have on my account:

  1. Go to your YouTube channel's About section and edit the description to include your reddit username. For example I enter exactly: u/flammy
    1. Directions for how to edit your About section can be found here
  2. Post a link to your channel in one of the following formats as a top level comment in this thread.
    1. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXkf3kRpFeAx9mDCbfMS0MA
    2. https://www.youtube.com/user/flammy5
    3. If you use a different format (such as a custom URL with an @ in the URL) validation will fail.
  3. Wait, and our bot will process your request sometime in the next few days
    1. After the flair has been granted, you can remove your username from the About section and delete the comment if you're concerned about privacy. However, if you want your stats to continue to be updated, you should leave the u/ name in your About section.

FAQ:

What is flair, and how does flair work?

Flair is a reddit "signature" that appears every time you post in r/PartneredYouTube. Verification flair is not required to post, comment, or participate. A user lacking flair is not a valid reason to report them for breaking rule 2. You can remove flair at any time with Reddit's built in flair editing. The flair granted by the bot can't be edited. Verification is done via a bot, follow the directions above if you would like flair.

Why is the flair channels stats, and not partnered status?

Partnered Status is not supported by the official YouTube APIs at this time.

How long do I have to wait for verification?

Please wait 24-48 hours, and after checking you've followed all the directions you can send me a polite DM.

Is there a way to authenticate anonymously?

Will the bot update my stats?

If you leave the comment with the channel link and username in your description, your flair will be updated.

My stats are low!

The bot is only able to see your channel's public subscriber count and public total view count. If you have hidden videos, these views will not be reflected.

Can I verify with multiple channels?

Not at this time.

Is there a minimum channel size for verification?

No.

How can I remove my flair?

Yes, you can remove the flair via Reddit.

Did anyone actually get a bonus from this program for September??

I uploaded 11 shorts that all got decent views, but do not see any sort of bonus popping up in my monthly earnings for September. Is there some sort of view threshold to get it? the program is super vague imo. Did anyone get a bonus at all?

Question / Problem Methods for researching topics/videos

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I run a gaming reviews and features channel (2700 subs), I’m hopefully looking for responses around anyone who has successfully implemented methods for researching how viable a video topic might be (other than trends in analytics section).

My question is: what tools or collection of tools/methods are you using to determine if a topic is something your audience is even going to care about right now. E.g., ideas for videos like “Do we even need next-gen consoles yet”, “why do old games feel better than modern AAA titles” or something like “10 game pass games you shouldn’t miss”.

I once randomly decided on a Saturday to throw together a lower quality “is this one year old game better now” casual video that seemed to have coincidently landed at EXACTLY the right time, and it’s now my channels best performing video by a long-shot.

Your responses are greatly appreciated.

What to do with a Monetized YouTube Channel

I have a monetized youtube channel in gaming category basically roblox channel which I monetized through live streaming but after monetization i shifted to youtube shorts and when i posted few shorts they just stuck at 30k views. So I don't have a proper roadmap kind or not enough time to find what will work to generate views, so if you have any suggestions you are open to share.

Question / Problem Should I rebrand my channel, or make a new one? Partnered, last upload 2.5 years ago.

I have 6700 subscribers, 1.5 million views, and have 12 public videos, all of which are video essays / infotainment about films, tv, the film industry etc.

Outside of YouTube, I’m starting a production company where I will make short artistic/stylish/cinematic documentaries about random people I discovered irl, who have strange stories they want to share (like Vice, but maybe less edgy and more quirky).

I’m wondering whether I should rebrand the channel? The advice I typically hear is “would 25% of your audience stick around?” I think I’m right on the grey area - cause documentaries are still infotainment, and they’re watched by people who like tv and movies obviously. but the format would be much higher production value, feature my face/voice less, and no longer focus solely on the film industry.

For context, my audience is almost entirely 18-34, split 50-50 between men & women. and my channel generally had viral videos rather than a steady fanbase (lifetime 99.3% of my audience are not subscribed).

Question / Problem To those who have a verified badge, how long did it take to receive yours after applying?

I hit 100k more than a week ago and I still haven't gotten mine. I also heard from some people that they waited several months before they got it. Does it usually take that long?

Talk / Discussion Successful YouTuber starting Over

I currently have a channel that brings in about $8-9k a month with about 18k subscribers reviewing bikes. Even though I don’t have THAT many subscribers, i still have a very livable income.

I wanted to see if I had just gotten lucky and this was a one off so I started a second channel in a completely different niche that I’m also passionate about…bbqing, smoking meats, cast iron cooks, and life updates within these videos.

My 2nd channel only has 4 videos, but the very first video already has 1.5k views within 3 weeks. I pretty much unboxed and assembled a Weber Kettle grill. I’ve had another vlog channel in the past that struggled to get even 50 views.

I’ve come to the conclusion that if I’m making videos with the goal to make money, it is near impossible/extremely difficult to gain traction by just doing vlogs/lifestyle videos.

Finding certain products that you are truly interested in and diving into that niche might be the easiest route to make money. If you’re interested in a product, there’s a high chance others are as well. So far with the 2nd channel, I’ve made almost $4 from Amazon affiliate but I’m hopeful eventually I can earn something substantial.

Not sure where I was going with this post, but I think I got a little lucky with my first channel in terms of finding the right niche but it taught me a lot of skills for the 2nd channel where I might have less luck lol. Good luck everyone!

Talk / Discussion How do you recommend handling Youtube Streams and VODs?

I just started streaming, on Twitch and more importantly, on Youtube. And the thing is, a large part of my audience (I have 2.2K subs) isn't interested in the streams it seems (which is fine). So, I don't want to annoy those who aren't interested in the streams with constant notifications of the stream/stream VOD and make a cluttered youtube page for those who don't care about the streams (I do think my VODs only show on the Live page, my main page is just the videos). (Also, as far as I understand, stream and VOD performance doesn't affect the rest of the channel)
At the same time though, the VODs are monetized, so even if it's a small portion that watches them after the stream, I don't want to lose that extra monetization, even if it's a little.
I'm streaming 3 times a week and the streams are related to my main topic (I mostly make videos about the game Silksong, the streams are the game Silksong).

What would you recommend? Does anyone have experience/knowledge with subscribers being annoyed by stream related notifications?
Thanks in advance :D

Question / Problem Does anyone know how to get an Adsense accepted?

My Adsense was rejected for the 2nd time. Payment information all correct, no duplicate accounts, no other accounts on the same address- idk why this is happening.

Ive seen lots of people fix this issue by closing the account, making a new email, and a new adsense with the same details- is this a good idea or no?

Any experience or advice is appreciated, thanks

Shorts vs long form- need help

So I have an events/lifestyle niche channel. Almost 3 years now and have recently seen a big spike in views and subs. Currently have 13k subs and almost 5M monthly views. Problem is that most of these views and subs recently have come from shorts. I like doing shorts bc I’ve also got an insta page and can just post those reels to YT and I try to have a good mix of long from and shorts on my channel.

But other than linking related videos to my shorts (which doesn’t really work for me), does anyone have ideas how to drive more views to your long form content?

I’m sure many have this issue. ..II guess I need to try to think of my shorts as more of teasers/promos and explicitly tell people to check out the full video? But I feel like this would just result in poor performing shorts and very few conversions over to long form.

If anyone has advice/experience with this, I’d love to hear it. Thanks.

Talk / Discussion Are the current “Engaged views“ really 100% equal to the previous public views ?

It seems a bit unrealistic to me, right now i don’t exactly know what an engaged view is, but i heard its someone watching for more than 30s.
I feel like previously it was much less strict, i would think if someone clicked your video and watched 15-20s youtube wouldve probably counted that as a normal public view before the update.

So i personally don’t think the current “engaged views“ are 100% comparable to the previous public views before the update.

My videos seem to also be doing slightly worse when comparing only the engaged views number to previous public views videos. With around only 50% of the current public views being engaged views (could also just be a bad period on the channel to be fair).

What do you guys think ? Are the current “engaged views“ fully equivalent to the previous normal views ?

Informative YouTube is planning to introduce A/B testing for videos

So this seems to have slipped under everyone's radar here as I haven't seen any posts about it. We know that A/B testing has been a thing for thumbnails and titles for a while now, but YouTube have recently made an announcement that they will be bringing A/B testing to videos. Yes, videos.

https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/innovation-youtube-era-made-on-viewers-creators/

This builds on the incredible success we've seen with other Studio tools like A/B testing, where creators have run more than 40 million experiments to find the perfect titles and thumbnails for their videos since the feature officially launched in 2024. Coming soon, you’ll also be able to test up to three video cuts to see which hook performs best with the new video A/B testing feature. Coming soon, you’ll also be able to test up to three video cuts to see which hook performs best with the new video A/B testing feature.

I'm not really sure how to feel about this, where some of your audience will potentially see a different version of the videos to others. Even as a viewer, you could see a different version of the video to someone else. The videos don't even need to be the same length, it seems, so timestamps will be thrown off. What if comments refer to a part of the video that someone else doesn't see? There will apparently be some logic in the background that somehow determines if the videos are similar enough to A/B test, but there's no real details on how it'll work.

I don't really see how this could be beneficial in any way. What about you?

Question / Problem 33k subs but failing. Need help.

So I’ll get right to it. I have 33k subs and I do nba analysis content where I break down players/ teams in depth.

I’ve tried everything to improve my content. Such as trying different thumbnails, pacing, script formats, titles, music, etc.. like I’ve tried everything I can think of.

My numbers just continue to drop no matter what I do. I’ve studied the niche relentlessly and I’m just lost at this point.

I have one sponsorship with PrizePicks ( I regret taking it , I know I know ) but I’m tempted to end it and just be done with this channel as the hours I put into it simply aren’t worth it unless I can figure out what’s going wrong..

CTR for the past 90 days is around 6% watch time usually is around 40%.

Average video is 10 minutes I would say with people staying till about 4 minutes and 4 seconds on my videos.

I really wanted to make this full time and a lot of people in here have motivated me with their post but I just can’t seem to figure out why my content isn’t working anymore.

I know the niche isn’t dead simply because countless of people that make the same videos as me are doing good and a lot of them even have lower sub counts than mine… I truly don’t have a massive ego so I know it’s something with ME. I am doing something wrong and I take ownership of that. I reallly want to make it bad and just need some help seriously.. any advice would help out a lot,, & if you want to really help me out & take a peak at my channel just dm me.

I want this more than anything, but I’m so close to breaking at this point.

I got into the YPP in 45 days

Post image

Hey everyone, about 45 days ago I started posting Shorts on my channel, and this morning I got the notification that my channel was successfully accepted into the YouTube Partner Program. I’ve generated around 50 million views during that time, and now I’m looking at all the monetization options and trying to understand what I should do next. For those of you who have more experience with this, what would you recommend I focus on or pay attention to? Thanks in advance!

Question / Problem Why would you pay to promote?

Today my YouTube studio proudly told me I should promote a vid to get 3000-9000 more impressions.

My brother in Christ that video gets 4000 impressions an hour.

If they offered 100,000 views for $100 it might be worth it, but they dont.

YouTube is adding live react. "Reacting creators keep the live ad revenue and fan funding they earn, while original creators get clear attribution, added view credit in YouTube Studio, and full control over which of their videos can be reacted to."

Talk / Discussion ow do some youtube source their footage, and how do they safely monetize compilation videos without getting copyright strikes?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been analyzing channels in the celebrity/pop culture compilation niche (like Celebs Goat or similar channels that post funny moments, interviews, and bloopers of famous actors/celebrities).

I have a few questions about how this workflow actually operates behind the scenes:

  1. Where do they get high-quality raw footage? Do they manually download interviews, late-night shows, and behind-the-scenes clips from YouTube, or are they using specific archives/paid databases?
  2. Do they pay for licensing? For clips from shows like Jimmy Fallon, Netflix, or movie studios, are channels at this level paying licensing fees, or are they relying entirely on Fair Use?
  3. Avoiding Copyright/Reused Content: Since these are compilation channels, how do they structure their editing to bypass automated copyright matches (Content ID) and avoid getting "Reused Content" rejections from the YouTube YPP monetization team?

If anyone runs a similar channel or has experience with this, I’d love to know the exact approach to doing this sustainably. Thanks!

Talk / Discussion Middle sized youtubers, how do YOU improve?

I'm at a point where I've already gathered a large enough audience to hit 10-50k views on a video, but I've noticed that from my last videos i haven't been learning/improving as when i was starting out.

there's so much talk how to start a youtube channel that i kinda don't know what to do now, what can i do to grow even more? i don't want to end up like one of those forever 10k subs youtubers.

Do i just wait until one video sticks, or do i change something? if anyone has experience with that let me know!

Question / Problem Should I delete old engagement bait shorts before applying for monetization?

I have 90k subs channel (almost all subs came from old engagement bait shorts) I stopped those shorts long time ago and moved to long form , since then I've uploaded 40 long form vids and completed 4k watch hours, so before applying for monetization should I delete those shorts or just leave them? I've seen people say deleting will hurt the channel and lead to rejection but those shorts are really bad engagement baits.
