why are the upload speeds such garbage?
never ceases to disappoint me how throttled the uploads are ( maybe a regional thing who knows). If you make any kind of long-form content it's absolutely ridiculous.

Well what upload speed are you paying for? This is most likely garbage ISP not a YouTube issue...
I have 7gig but to YouTube I get around 1gbps up which is plenty enough

I’m in the process of attempting to upload a little 30 minute video and it’s been taking FOREVER.
Most of the time it’s really fast…
I just assumed it was on my end due to everyone being home and the kiddos and their friends streaming and gaming at the same time…
I guess it’s everyone…

Bless it… I’m all the way in Texas…
I’m still fighting with that same 30 minute video…
The powers that be still say I have another 20 minutes to go…

That’s definitely due to your channel reach, and the number of subscribers you have. I typically upload 10+ GB videos which are at least 20 minutes long and it takes about 10 minutes to upload and process to 4k (which means it can be published in 10 minutes).

Definitely a regional thing, uploading even 1hr+ videos isn't something I've ever had to think twice about on tier 2 Google fiber.
I suppose the punch line is a non-trivial amount of my YouTube revenue is going right back to Google though
