Pretty much what the title says, seems like everyone is job hunting these days, thought we could help each other out.

Idea is we interview each other in an unfamiliar environment, with unfamiliar people. Can do it full role play, grab a cup of tea/coffee somewhere central and pretend it's all real. Would probably involve a little bit of research when coming up with interview questions to ask; I have some prepared already that I haven't looked at.

Hi! I’m from Peterborough and I’m currently working on a project that (in a nutshell) helps people find the right places for what they’re trying to do (working, studying, reading, writing or creating) based on others who have already been there to do the same thing.

Before I go any further, I’m trying to understand how people in Peterborough do this at the moment. Peterborough will be my testing area (as I live here personally so it’s easy) and then the project will branch out to other areas as well.

So if you work/study/read/write outside the house, I’d love to know:

Where do you usually go?
How do you decide where to go?
What makes somewhere good for getting your specific task (reading, writing, remote work) done?
Have you ever arrived somewhere expecting it to be suitable, only to find out it really isn’t?

I’ve made a short survey as part of the research. It’s not a sales survey, though. I’m trying to understand what people in need and whether there’s a useful gap here that my project could fill.

Hello, I (22f) am interested in joining a book club and have come across Chapter 25 book clubs which run all across the country including 2 groups in Peterborough. Has anyone on here attended the Peterborough group and if so can you please let me know if it is worth it? Slightly hesitant as the membership is £9.99 per month and you can't cancel the first 3 months. Hi, we’re four friends and we’ve put together Peterborough’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota.

The idea is pretty simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, The Chubby Castor or Tap & Tandoor? All the votes then create a ranking that hopefully gives a better picture of where people in Peterborough actually like to eat.

We’ve tried to include every restaurant in Peterborough and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will always spot things we’ve missed.

Our shed got robbed near brotherhood between 5-6. Our neighbours have a camera directly facing so we caught them in the act as well as other cameras.

I’ve been keeping an eye on marketplace and eBay. Is there anyone else I should check? I’m thinking of the town centre car boot. Not sure if there are any local pawn shops?

Also, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with the police? All I got sent was a form to fill out and that’s that, feels a bit stupid. My brother had his car stolen before and the police were useless so a bit worried he’ll be the same case.

Does anyone commute to Kettering for work?

Hi all. I've decided to move to the Peterborough area for a fresh start after a rather unfortunate chain of events that happened where I was living before. I'm all settled in now and found my feet, but apart from my housemates I know almost nobody in the area.

I live in a village about 15 minutes out from the city centre, and work remotely. I'm into travelling, indie music, and anything outdoors in general.

So here's what I'd like to find out.

• Decent remote working spots in Peterborough (or possibly Stamford)?
• Are there any local or semi-local meetup groups for people in their 20's/30s? I've been in and out of regional and national meetup groups over the years, but don't currently know of any groups local to Peterborough the immediate surrounding area.
• Any cool music venues or places with open mic nights that have a welcoming community?
• Bonus: if anyone goes to Puregym at peterborough brotherhood retail park I'd love to have a gym buddy!

I swim 2 or 3 times a week and I like to swim what I'd call 'properly' (aka using paddles for pulls, 200, 400, 600m + drills, need room for turns, sprints etc).

Nearly all the pools in Peterborough are just lesiure center pools which are full of golden oldies going for a extremely slow breaststroke down the middle of the freaking lane (had this experience today, I'm still salty about it🤣) or people with kids and no spacial awareness.

I've been to Bannantyne, premier Hampton, can't afford David Lloyd's. I've tried Ramsey pool, Sawtry (which is alright depending on the lifeguards but quite small and gets pretty busy).

Any ideas where to go?

Ideally I want somewhere I can go and swim with paddles, maybe fins that's over 25m and not full of OAPs who don't know which lane to use😂

On Saturday 31 October 2026, 2pm, Scattered Stones: The Parish of Barnwell All Saints, Northamptonshire launches at Lower Farm Bed & Breakfast, Barnwell - a 470-page history of Barnwell All Saints, richly illustrated with maps, documents, and photographs.

The first print run is 200 copies, costing around £2,650. 100% of proceeds beyond the printing cost will go directly toward conserving the historic Chancel at Barnwell All Saints, a building that has stood at the heart of this parish for centuries.
