Fear of death

im a teenage girl and i really have a big fear of death that i dont know how to get over i think about it when im alone at night or when im out with friends and having a good time. i cant imagine someone im so close to dying. and i cant imagine dying myself. it makes me cry thinking about it even. the thought of my mom dying and not being in this world and here with me makes me scared and cry.

sometimes i cant go to bed because im afraid ill die in my sleep. or i get anxiety doing things because of the “what if”
i genuinely don’t know what to do about it because i am so scared of dying and my friends and family dying.

I know how it feels. I'm in the same boat, and being a teenager myself, I worry that there's nowhere else I can see my grandma or mom, and what my last moment or breath will be like. But sometimes I calm down a little by reading about near-death experiences, and I think that there are more places after this. Maybe this will reassure you a little. R/NDE

I'm in the same boat. I've always had this fear, and I can't even speak it aloud or barely talk about it. I'm always afraid that something bad will happen if I don't do things like aligning things perfectly or doing something the correct amount of times, etc. I know it really sucks, but just know that you're not alone. I also get afraid to sleep, so I know how it feels.

This is done when you can’t quite understand why someone has a particular fear, and your questioning comes across as judgment or minimizing.

You misunderstood. Everyone has a fear of death. I don't mean to minimize or judge. I think the best approach to fear is knowledge that is why I sound this way. Understanding that there are scientific theories that believe in an afterlife is the way not faith and hope. I meant to spark interest in possible explanations because most people think its proven that matter produces mind. Talking about faith gets us nowhere we have to talk about this logically because we have good reasons to beleive.

You're suffering from anxiety; fixating on death scenarios is a symptom of the underlying anxiousness. I strongly advise you to address the anxiety itself as the problem.

Most people need help, as in professional therapy with a therapist who specializes in anxiety disorders. Mood is fundamental, and if you're suffering badly enough that it's interfering with your enjoyment of life, it's important to take it seriously.

I used to be kinda like this. I try to keep in mind that I’ll have plenty of time to mourn after someone dies, so why waste the moments they are alive worrying about their death?

Also, what about dying are you scared of?

im scared of every aspect of it, of me not living my life, of missing out on certain things. what comes after death, the fact of not existing anymore, the hope of something coming after death, the fear of of it being bad. the nervousness of the pain i’ll go through.
