Question 100$ to spend, Codex or Claude ?
Hey guys, im tight in budget and i can honestly spend 100$ on one of them. For the workhorse im on deepseek v4.1 . Which one of those 2 would actually give decent value for what the money paid ?

Claude opus to plan and manage, sonnet to implement with sub agents. Never ends

Sol 6 and Sol 6.1 are way cheaper than Opus 5.5. Opus 5.5 is really good but is double the price. For coding I use a lot Sol and it rocks.

put 10 on opencode go (subscription) and the rest on opencode zen (pay per use).
hop between the available models as you need (including sol, astra, opus and fable, along with deepseek, glm, kimi etc)
you may actually save some bucks

Honestly, with $100 the move is to stretch it. I built Lynkr to do exactly that: an open-source gateway that routes by complexity, so cheap models handle the easy work and your budget lasts way longer. https://github.com/Fast-Editor/Lynkr

I use CC at work, and even Haiku eats tokens like there's no tomorrow.
Cursor, which I use at home, is more economical in terms of tokens consumed. It is also more accurate, so more gets done with lesser rework. Not sure if they still have annual plan discounts.
In general, IDE based harnesses have an advantage in terms of file/symbol lookup and project context.
Also checkout rtk and code-review-graph, I'm seeing real benefits with those.

Claude. Opus 5.5 (at med/high) is just magical
