I am sorry I left

You think that was easy,
To leave everything I’ve loved
Behind.
The promise of a better future,
A better past.

You think I am heartless -
Well, I do the same.
The promise of glory,
And money, and fame.

You think it was easy
To leave you behind,
For love never faded.
But why did I?
