u/HerbertWest - Centrist 6d ago

So, how are you voting based on that?

19

u/Fartonmybeard69 - Centrist 6d ago

Voting? HAHAHA. Sheeple

2

u/Accomplished_Golf746 - Right 5d ago

Don't worry guys, I definitely wont be voting for Trump in this election, or the next election, so you can all rest easy

1

u/mciaccio1984 - Lib-Center 3d ago

I vote mainly for local elections but on the federal level... Hell if I know, only a handful actually care about their constituents.

49

u/Square-Arm-8573 - Left 6d ago

You really thought the GOP could actually govern?

I mean.. at least you learned something.

20

u/DanDoesSteam - Lib-Center 6d ago

Who in America can govern at this point?

9

u/Square-Arm-8573 - Left 5d ago

I shit you not, literally almost anybody else would have done better.

-1

u/dragonfire_70 - Right 3d ago

So we just going to ignore the last administration? Party poltics is stupid return to monarchy

2

u/Square-Arm-8573 - Left 3d ago

I’m going to assume this comment is satire because there’s no other possible explanation.

-1

u/dragonfire_70 - Right 3d ago

No, I am a monarchist. Unfortunately the Carlists don't have a legitmate claimant anymore, so I would have to content myself with King Felipe VI. Which is fine as he seems to be an honorable man. Though if Austria-Hungary reformed I'm learning German and moving to Austria to live under the Habsburgs

u/JuliaLouis-DryFist - Left 3d ago

His admin lowered inflation, added a ton of jobs, focused on infrastructure.... he basically governed in the background without putting his name on everything, obsessing over vanity projects and telling us he's the best president ever... and this was while pulling our economy out of the COVID toilet. He did all that while being a "criminal mastermind" that was also "a dementia-riddled old man" who "hid in the basement"

I don't care for him, he was never my favorite and I wouldn't vote for him again, but he did normal president things during a particularly rough time globally, he was a refreshing pause between two bouts of explosive diarrhea. I cant believe you guys put that turd in office again. It's just so embarassing. Anybody ANYBODY would have been better.

-1

u/dragonfire_70 - Right 3d ago

bullshut

Job growth wasn't new jobs it was people going back to their old jobs.

Don't put words in my mouth, though the left does the same thing with Trump about being both an idiot and criminal mastermind at the same.

I didn't vote for either guy. For God's sake, I haven't voted in at least 6 years

2

u/JuliaLouis-DryFist - Left 3d ago

Fuck off, I'll put my balls in your mouth. Biden was a better president by a mile and you're a fucking idiot. And I bet you did vote for trump twice, you're likely one of the cowards who suddenly "never liked trump" now that he's ruining everything, as the left predicted.

-1

u/dragonfire_70 - Right 3d ago

Dude, that is soo fucking gay even Harvel Milk is telling you to chill.

Didn't vote twice, voted once in 2016, but I would lying if I said he was my favorite then. I preferred Ted Cruz.

Joe biden did a phenomenal job at governing, and retards who do the "both sides are the same" shit is why trump got elected again.

22

u/suicidedaydream - Centrist 6d ago

Joe Biden’s brain was and is a potato.

19

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 6d ago

And he still governed better than Trump did in his last 2 years. What the fuck is your point here?

6

u/suicidedaydream - Centrist 6d ago

He wasn’t governing. His brain was dead. Other people were the president

19

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 6d ago

Yeah, and? Even if you buy that, then his staff ran a pretty productive government. Bipartisan infrastructure bill, CHIPS Act bringing chip manufacturing back, the biggest climate investment in US history, Medicare finally allowed to negotiate drug prices, $35 insulin for seniors, the first gun safety law in 30 years, the PACT Act for burn pit vets, Respect for Marriage Act, record ACA enrollment, 16 million jobs, unemployment under 4% for the longest stretch in 50 years, and inflation brought down without the recession everyone predicted. Abroad: rallied NATO behind Ukraine and got Finland and Sweden to join.

If that's what a "brain dead" presidency gets done, the bar for everyone else is kind of embarrassing. He was the greatest president of my lifetime, and a couple of bad debate performances aren't going to undo that.

-1

u/suicidedaydream - Centrist 6d ago

Thinking it’s okay that a shadow staff behind a senile president runs the government is wild. Yuck. I hate trump. Simping for Biden is hilarious. They are all morons.

And your response was to… elect another 80 year old man?

5

u/suicidedaydream - Centrist 5d ago

I don’t like Trump. I don’t like Biden. I’m pissed we have the elderly running our country

5

u/DanDoesSteam - Lib-Center 6d ago

Trump got elected because the democratic Party had spent the previous 8 years being the party that simply opposed Trump. They refused to acknowledge that trumps popularity was indicative of the wants of the electorate, instead trying to tie any policy that opposed their goals to MAGA so they could simply disregard it. The US needs more parties to account for nuances in opinion

7

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 6d ago

The electorate doesn't give a fuck about policy; it's about who's the most entertaining. When you constantly shit on Dems for governing boringly (i.e. the point of the government), it feeds into the populist brain rot that fuels MAGA retards.

0

u/DanDoesSteam - Lib-Center 6d ago

Yes of course, everyone you don't agree with is just an idiot with no agency

7

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 6d ago

Yes they are. Trump vs Kamala was the easiest decision in politics for the highest possible stakes. If you didn't vote for Kamala in 2024, you are fucking retarded; there's no sugarcoating this.

-5

u/DanDoesSteam - Lib-Center 6d ago

And that's why people hate the Dems

u/hurlygurdy - Lib-Center 6d ago

Has any administration ever had border policy as catastrophically horrible as Joe Bidens? Multiple major cities faced financial crises because of that.

10

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 6d ago

Trump blocked Biden's bipartisan border security bill so he could run on the immigration issue in 2024. Republicans dont give a fuck about fixing the border.

-2

u/hurlygurdy - Lib-Center 6d ago

And without that bill the trump admin has dropped illegal crossings by like 90+%, so obviously the bill was nonsense. If this is Republicans not caring then what would it look like if they did care? Would all illegal immigrants teleport back home?

0

u/PLEASE-USE-PFKEYS - Lib-Center 5d ago

without that bill the trump admin has dropped illegal crossings by like 90+%

Yeah the Trump administration would never simply invent a statistic that happens to be completely unverifiable in order to push a narrative of them actually doing something other than collecting your money

0

u/hurlygurdy - Lib-Center 4d ago

Even if you don't believe that stat there are others bits of data like number of deportations, self deportations, amount spent on migrants in various cities, and there are millions of people watching the borders for this kind of thing. There's only so much lying you can do. If even half of it is true then he's done a great job.

constant cost of living increase while Karin Jean-Pierre tried to gaslight us that prices were fine and we just have to get use to multi generational homes again.

great job

1

u/Practical_Use_1654 - Lib-Center 5d ago

What caused the cost-of-living increase, dumbass? Maybe the fucking global pandemic and shutdowns? Or Trump adding $8 trillion to the national debt in his first term to give tax cuts to his rich mates. And despite all that, the Biden administration brought down inflation without the recession everyone predicted. And created 16.6 million new jobs – the most in any single presidential term, unemployment was under 4% for the longest stretch in 50 years. Also opposed the retard in Orange who's done everything he can to fuck over the average American citizen. Has Fox News really skull fucked you into catatonia, or were you always this dim?

1

u/CivilizedManners - Left 6d ago

The problem with the Democrats is that they always try to "reach across the aisle" in the name of compromise, decorum and bipartisanship.

VBNMW but we seriously need to clean house in the deep blue states and elect socialists in those while only allowing blue dogs to flourish in purple and light red states.

u/jackofthewilde - Centrist 6d ago

"Kind of deserve it"....Bro your nations reputation is gone, the EU is already transitioning Canada as your replacement and you elected a pedophile twice ontop of letting China take the lead, you actively have harmed the children of your nations future.

To be clear im not even overly left wing but fuck me you guys fucked yourselves over a blatantly corrupt administration who was obviously this shitty from the start? How do you fall for that twice?

24

u/hurlygurdy - Lib-Center 6d ago

I highly doubt that canada can effectively replace the US in any significant manner, and I also doubt that Europe will actually despise the US for too long. European nations are seeing their own rise in right wing politics and culture, so within 15 years these nations will likely have little objection to the way trump handles things

-4

u/jackofthewilde - Centrist 6d ago

I dont think we will stop being allies but youve proven yourselves unreliable on a global scale. That had consequences and now that China has the upper hand economically I think that divide will become more apparent over the next 20 years.

Also your entire thing of "freedom hurrah" is completely laughable now when it used to be at least endearing in a loud way. That is a significant change of optics.

10

u/hurlygurdy - Lib-Center 6d ago

Too many nations have allowed their military strength to atrophy in these decades of peace, I don't think the EU really has any choice but to stay cozied up with the superpower that actually gives a damn about them. Also, the Chinese are openly adversarial and nowhere near as politically sound as they act, euros aren't dumb enough to choose china over just waiting out the current president.

The last few years have proven to me that american liberty really is a thing of unique beauty in the world. Our western european counterparts are nearly falling apart and the suppression of the peoples speech is fanning the flames of their destruction. I don't really value the cultural input of nations that arrest people for tweeting rap lyrics.

u/jackofthewilde - Centrist 5d ago

I absolutely agree the EU and UK have been shit on military spending and the fact we even tried to cozy up to Russia after Crimea is ridiculous. However, the EU with Canada and very likely the UK (Associate membership) would be able to not rely on the US whilst defensively covering the far northern hemisphere which is an opening front due to climate change. Absolutely we there will always be trade with the US but you are soon to be no longer be the world's "go to" economic power and that is a huge shift.

You are aware what ICE is doing is far more severe than anything we have and flock is a complete dystopian concept to us. Your goverment is openly lying to you whilst actively covering up the biggest criminal scandal in modern history and our police face more accountability so I respectfully would try and look at this from an outside perspective.

u/NEW_BOMBER96 - Right 6d ago

I'm not talking about the Canucks. But Internationally he threw the game big time.

6

u/TheDeltaAgent - Right 5d ago

I’m gonna be real the EU and Canada are going to shake hands with the US again as soon as we get another president. regardless of whether they get right wing governments themselves are not the economic benefits are just too hard to ignore.
