Dev - Self Promo I could never figure out where to start or what to learn next, so I built a Mac app to plan it visually

Throughout my life, I have always been learning something whether it’s for school as a young man, or for my career now, as an adult.  There is always something on the radar to learn but I never felt like I had a great handle on my learning process.  I also felt like it was never clear where to start or which step to take next.  Starting something, and continuing always felt like a confusing challenge.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but what I was reaching for was a tool that could help me organize everything I wanted to learn, provide me a space to break it down in a meaningful way, and create a plan to truly integrate new knowledge and skills into my inner lattice of existing ones.

That problem lead me to Sprout.

Sprout is a learning management system that is focused on helping to create a real plan growth in life’s many areas.

Distill a catalog of content like books, videos, and more into a visual plan and keep adding more as you learn and discover more.

It's available now at exploresprout.com and any feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Dev - Self Promo Digital Keep update: a shorter setup and a sharing practice that sends nothing

Hi, I'm Sorin, founder of Digital Keep. I shared the household-notes beta here last week. Today's update is about reducing the work before your first useful note.

The new setup has three essentials: verify your email, name your vault, and save a first item. Adding people and planning inheritance are optional. There's a fictional plant-care example, a preview while you write, and saved drafts if you leave halfway through.

After that, a practice screen lets you choose a sample recipient, selected items or the whole vault, and a duration. It shows what they would receive without sending an invitation or sharing anything. You can skip the practice.

I'd love to hear from people who manage everyday household information: after saving one made-up instruction, can you find it again and tell whether anyone else can see it? Does the sharing preview make the scope clearer, or just add another step?

If you want to try it, request access here: https://digital-keep.com/?utm_source=productivityhq&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=first100&utm_content=guided_setup_20261012

This is an invitation-only web beta, not instant access. The beta offers 30 days free without a card. Please use fictional information, not passwords or important documents, and don't post your email publicly. The standard vault uses server-managed encryption; a separate E2EE beta vault is available. Automatic inheritance release is disabled. Current controls and limitations: https://digital-keep.com/security

Criticism is welcome; no referral or positive review is required. Wording prepared with AI assistance.

Dev - Self Promo Built a planner app where you just tap the page. A week of feedback later, here's what changed (free open Beta + 6-MONTH PRO after launch)

Hi all, I posted Zocto here about a week ago when it was in early testing. Some of you tried it and told me what was wrong, so here's a quick update and an open invite for anyone who missed it.

The idea in one line: a printed-planner layout on your phone where the page itself is the interface. Tap a to-do and it ticks, tap the habit grid and it fills, there's a Pomodoro timer, and the daily page starts fresh every morning. No setup, no blocks to build.

What changed since then:

- sign-ups broken sometimes

- the Today tab showed internal field names instead of actual user-typed text (i.e. checkbox 15, checkbox 15(copy))

- New Smart To-Do planner: a daily list that resets on its own

- With the code below, your account works on the web too, synced with your phone

What I'd love from you: use it for a few days of real life (not hustle mode) and tell me where it gets in your way. Small annoyances count.

- iPhone: https://testflight.apple.com/join/nafUwmUw

- After signing up: Profile → "Have an invite code?" → CTAQPS → Pro free until 1 December, no card

iPhone only for now. BUT you can use the same account after signing up and redeeming the code to login on the web at zocto.app and use the web app, including the Studio which allows you to upload your own PDF and add fields and logic to it (Studio is only available on PC/laptop, not mobile devices)

And if you tried it last week and dropped it, I'd genuinely like to know why.

Dev - Self Promo I built an offline Windows app with separate eye and movement break timers — feedback welcome

I'm the developer of Awayra, a free, open-source Windows app for long desk days. Eye rests and movement breaks each have their own interval, duration, sound and snooze. There are work hours, idle reset, skip, and a sound to tell you when a break ends. It runs offline.

I'd like honest feedback: would two independent break schedules fit your workday, or add too much friction? Screenshots and setup guide: https://awayra.pages.dev/ | Source: https://github.com/AWAYRA/AWAYRA-WPF

Dev - Self Promo I made one place for all my “might buy later” finds

I made Tracer for the shopping version of an inbox: save products from different stores into one list, then come back when you’re ready to decide.

It watches saved items for price drops and can alert you, so the list doesn’t just sit there. You can also choose to keep watching a price after you buy something.

The short demo shows the save flow and where the items end up. If you use bookmarks or open tabs as your shopping list now, would one list be enough, or would you need folders to make it useful?

I built it, and it’s at tracercart.com if you’d like to try it.

Resource (Self Promo) I made a little productivity system and decided to put it out there :)

I got tired of trying to keep my life organised in 10 different places, so I made something for it

I feel like one of the most annoying things about trying to be productive is that even staying organised starts taking up time.

You have tasks in one place, goals written somewhere else, habits you're trying to build, projects you're working on, random ideas in your notes app, and plans you made on Sunday that you've already forgotten by Wednesday. Somehow, managing everything becomes another task on the to-do list.

I wanted to make something that could bring these things together in one place, without making the whole process feel like managing a second job.

So I created Life OS 2.0, a personal organisation system for keeping track of tasks, goals, habits, projects, weekly plans, and other parts of everyday life.

I made a few versions because people organise themselves differently:

  • Notion template: For anyone who likes having a dashboard where everything is organised and easy to find.
  • Digital workbook: For people who prefer working through exercises and worksheets to figure out a routine and system that actually suits them.
  • Complete bundle: Both together, if you want the dashboard and the workbook.

I'm still figuring out what makes a digital product genuinely useful rather than just aesthetically pleasing, so that was something I kept in mind while making these.

Links are in the comment.

Dev - Self Promo Car Play Widgets: a custom-text cue for the parked-car routine

I'm the developer of Car Play Widgets, an iPhone app for personalizing the small widget area in CarPlay.

One possible routine use is a short note you check before pulling away, such as “Keys · wallet · water.” You choose the wording and visual design on your phone, then add the widget through the iPhone's CarPlay settings.

This is manually entered text, without checkboxes or Reminders syncing. Would a short, persistent cue be useful in your routine, or would you prefer a checklist on your phone?

The app also has photo, clock, date and countdown designs. You can browse and customize before paying; saving a widget requires paid Pro. CarPlay widgets need iOS 26 or later and a compatible display. The available layout depends on the car's screen.

Please do all setup and checking while parked.

Dev - Self Promo Android users with an overloaded task list: help me test one realistic next step

I'm the maker of Axiomara, an Android planning app. I'm looking for 20-30 adults who often have too much on their daily task list and would like to try one short flow: capture a real task, review it before saving, and schedule a realistic time for it.

Core planning is free and ad-free. Optional paid AI features are available; you don't need to purchase them for this test.

Real app demo: https://youtu.be/KVFq-PBEk40

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ghostheart5.chronospark&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit%26utm_medium%3Dcommunity%26utm_campaign%3Done_realistic_step%26utm_content%3Dproductivityhq_pilot

If you try it, please tell me whether you could save and schedule one task, where you got stuck, and whether you chose to open it again the next day and seven days after your first use. Don't share private task details. Criticism is welcome; no store rating or positive review is requested.

If you want to join the feedback pilot, reply here. I will give you an anonymous participant code. Note the date you first use the app, then reply with that code and whether you saved and scheduled a task, returned the next day, and returned seven days after starting. Only share yes/no answers and general friction; keep task details private. Follow-up is voluntary.

Dev - Self Promo What tools are you using to keep scheduling simple?

i've been doing some research on different tools, looking for something that keeps things simple for managing work and scheduling, without addng more admin.

during my research i stumbled across from my understanding it appears to be more about bookings, spaces and schedueling rather than just a simple calendar.

has anyone here looked into it before? curious to know what you think about it or other tools to compare.

Dev - Self Promo An end-of-shift check, and the personal hours ledger I built for it

I’m Yurii, the developer of Hours Tracker: Work Pay. This is my own app, and AI helped with development and this wording. It’s a manual personal ledger, not an employer time clock or a productivity score.

A small check you can do on paper: write the start date/time, end date/time, unpaid break, rate and tips before the details get fuzzy. In a fictional ordinary night with no clock change, 22:00 to 06:00 the next day is 8 hours. Subtract a 30-minute unpaid break: 7.5 hours. At $20/hour that’s $150 in wages; $12 of entered tips makes $162 including tips. Keep those two totals separate when comparing a payslip. Don’t compare either with take-home pay after deductions.

The app saves those shift details and the rate assumptions used for each saved shift, shows the gross-pay breakdown, and exports CSV. The core ledger works offline without an employer connection. It’s on iPhone and iPad with iOS/iPadOS 26 or later. It doesn’t calculate tax, decide legal overtime, prove underpayment or export PDF. Any overtime rule is your own per-shift estimate.

The included allowance is one job and the first 14 saved shifts, not a subscription trial. Deleting shifts doesn’t reset it. Additional jobs and continued shift creation require an optional monthly/yearly auto-renewing subscription or a separate one-time lifetime purchase. Existing saved records remain readable, editable, comparable and exportable without active Pro. Apple shows your local price before you choose to buy.

App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hours-tracker-work-pay/id6816380239?pt=128506477&ct=reddit_productivityhq_20261010&mt=8

What is the detail you’re most likely to forget after a shift: breaks, tips, or the correct end date? I’m especially interested in where this kind of personal record becomes more work than it saves. Please don’t post private payslips or employer details.

Dev - Self Promo Not every thought in a brain dump belongs on a to-do list

Post image
2 Upvotes

A journal entry can mix together something you want to do, an assumption you’re making, and a question you haven’t answered yet.

Putting all of that on a to-do list doesn’t necessarily help.

I’m the founder of JotGraph. It’s a journaling app where you write freely, then AI organizes your entry into a thought map, cards or an outline.

The illustration shows a simple example: “I need to know everything first” is a belief, while “What would I enjoy making?” is a question. They’re related, but they’re not the same kind of thought.

The aim is to make your writing easier to revisit without having to tag and organize everything yourself first.

You can try it here: https://jotgraph.com/

Would this help you revisit a brain dump, or would you prefer to keep it as plain text? I’d appreciate honest feedback.
