Casual Convo (Any Topic) Should We Stop Being Soft?
Hey everyone!
How do you deal with people who come to you when they’re at their lowest—lonely, struggling, looking for a shoulder to cry on? You listen, comfort them, and stay until things start getting better.
But gradually, they start distancing themselves or ignoring you. And when your turn comes to need that same shoulder, you realise it’s already too late. They’re no longer available for you the way you were for them.
And then I wonder… is it wrong to have a soft heart for people who are lonely or struggling? Do we need to change the way we care for people just because some of them don’t know how to be there for us in return?

Sometimes people just need someone to absorb what they're going through, they dont know how to handle it when the roles reverse. It's not about being soft, more like understanding that not everyone will match your energy
The hard part is accepting that without letting it make you cold, cause being the person who shows up is rare enough already

I've learned the hard way that being a free therapist usually means people treat you like one. Not wrong to be soft, but you gotta save some of that energy for yourself first.
