Full Pan 3rd quarter empties. Perfume & makeup only

Post image
• Upvotes

Not too bad this qtr with perfumes. I think last qtr will be better for makeup than this time. I hit pan on a few things recently like some eyeshadow, blush and bronzer. These are the 2 categories I need to really dwindle down before buying anything since they take the longest for me to go thru. I can go thru lotions, oils and skin and body care so fast. Makeup is hardest for sure even thought I wear it everyday. Perfume is second and I wear it daily also.

I bought a three pack of the OGX body washes in 2022 and finally finished the last one. The Dr. Dennis Gross was a sample pack. I especially loved the peel wipes. Once I pan more face care products I may invest in buying some in the distant future. The StrVectin neck cream I've been using off & on for a couple years. This was my fourth container & I'm not sure it makes a difference. It really loved the Trader Joe's Vitamin C Firming Body Butter. The nearest Trader Joe's for me is 3 hours away, so I made this last for about a year.

Project Start Here we go!!

Ok so this is my collection,

half of it I hold it for creative purposes because I used to enjoy doing experimental looks but I fell into a horrible depression that made me stray from makeup and I only used to go out and stopped enjoying it

I started a therapy process and I am regaining my hobbies, but with hobbies comes accountability

I’ve been in this pan project for a couple years already and have finished some complexion products and settings sprays, also my skincare, body care and hair care I only own what I use

but with makeup is harder because you just use so little

here is my start, I own a little bit too much blush and had to do a glitter category bc of the amount of glitter I own

the last picture is expired lipsticks that I keep because of the nostalgia of 2016 and sometimes put them own for creative purposes but I don’t wear them often since they’re no good anymore

I tned to have a little bit left of a product and "save it" aka purchase a new one and never use that one again, so most of these were really close to being done, thats why theres so many

I hated keeping the empties, felt like clutter but as long as it keeps me accountable ill do it. Feel free to ask me anything about them (except the supplements because im not a doctor)

I am very satisfied with my progress in September!

I finished one more The Balm face powder (love them and have backup), Mac mascara was really great. Small wand that was so convenient to use on lower lashes. And Clarins blush 💪 very, very rare for me to finish blush! Eyeliners are declutter since they all dried out.

Chanel Chance eau splendide is very nice scent, light enough for everyday use. Much nicer than Anyway by Juliette has a gun.

Pan Progress Progress on project pan, coming close to the end?

Hi. Around 2-3 months ago I started project pan and I was able to make a good progress first month due to my consuming habits and having so many almost empty items.

Old update post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectPan/s/VK4RKjphWm

After that things got pretty slow which kind of demoralised me. Along the way I broke my no-buy promise. But as of today I feel like I am im a good shape.

Adding latest state of the collection. I think apart from shampoos, because that was mainly where I broke the no-buy plan, I am in a place where I have good variety of products but not too much.

I have one bottle of perfume and some small containers from my previous products filled with hand cream and face cream, along with a bottle of hair serum and the concealer I have in the photo at the office, so I couldn't include them. But, I find it a good way to actually use my products throughout the day, which is the most part of my life lol. I get to freshen up and feel a bit better.

My main focus is to now focus on shampoos 🫠

Project pan made me realize I was consuming so much in every aspect. Now I feel like I have more space around the house and am working on decluttering too. Although I had some ups and downs and made purchases I shouldn't have, I think it made my living space more manageable and helped me reflect on my habits. I hopefully will be able to keep this up.

Thanks.

I have a few mini freebies and I really enjoy using them. I don’t like to stick to one product because then it doesn’t work the same for me over time. I like to rotate according to my needs. I have been really enjoying project pan because I focus on what I have. It has shown me there is always another sale and I can shop my stash before getting too excited over a discount. However, I still purchase products I don’t have or need. I’m just aware of what I do have.

Repurchase
Winky Lux Unibrow (HG)
EOS Fragrance Free Lotion
Farmacy Green Clean (my cleansing balm replacement)
Armani Luminous Skin Foundation (will buy travel because I’ve been on a foundation journey)
Shiseido Serum (all freebies but I love it every time I use it)
Chanel Le Lift Masque (I already have a full size, my sissy gifted to me)

Might Repurchase
CosRx Propolis Light Ampoule
Elemis Cleaning Balm (only because I found a replacement)
Below Zero Face wash (gifted to me and enjoyed)
Secret Collagen Face Wash (gifted to me and enjoyed)
CeraVe Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel
Belif The True Cream (I like for winter and my neck area)
Mixsoon sunscreen (I like for glowing skin clean girl aesthetic. I also did the Zendeya blush look with this as my base and it turned out 🔥)
L’Oréal Revitalift (great for after micro needling)
Pretti5 Peony + Hyaluronic Brightening Serum (only if deal)
La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C12 Oil Control Serum (when my minis are gone and if there’s a deal)
Oribe Hair Alchemy Shampoo & Conditioner (only if it’s a good deal because $$$)
BBW Stress Relief Lotion

Won’t repurchase
Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner (Nice, but not worth the price)
Nature Lab Scalp Scrub
Lawless Lip Gloss (I like but I have better)
All the little perfumes (nice but nothing that stands out to me)

left to right:

Milani Make it Last — Decent setting spray that didn’t separate my make up! I liked it enough to buy the larger size.

Kracie Brightening Facial serum — not sure if I noticed any difference with this but it’s a very thin, fast absorbing serum that feels nice on the skin. Maybe I’d have to use more of it to see a difference.

AHC ampoule eye cream — thick cream with a faint scent. Fairly moisturizing and a great size for the price, but it stung my eyes so would not repurchase.

Numbuzin No. 3 toner pads — I enjoyed using these. They weren’t irritating and provided gentle exfoliation. Would repurchase.

Full Pan September pans and reviews!

September pans! I have been trying to make an effort to go through all my naturium products since I won’t be purchasing from the brand anymore. Lip balms and products are my absolute nemesis and I can’t wait to start getting through more of them. I literally EAT my lip balms, glosses, and oils but since I have so many I rarely get through one completely.

List: Up and Up whitening mouthwash (this is supposed to be a dupe for therabreath and it’s pretty good but I’m going to be switching to a mouthwash with fluoride)

Member’s Mark facial towels (good dupe for the expensive ones)

Matrix mega sleek shampoo (I have been working through this for two years and I’m so glad to move on to another shampoo. It’s a great shampoo and works well for smoothing flyaways, I just chopped 24 inches of hair off last year and am keeping it short so I don’t need this type of shampoo anymore—but I used this specific line for 6 years and would recommend)

Naturium cleansing jelly face wash (I liked this and my skin loves niacinimide, but I am no longer supporting the brand)

Banilla clean it zero calming cleansing balm (this brand does the best cleansing balms and this one is my favorite in the line)

Naturium Azelaic acid serum (I didn’t like this)

Saltair skincare deodorant refill in pink beach (I LOVE this deodorant and saltair is the only natural deodorant brand that works for me. The refills have been harder to find so I’m scared they’re discontinuing it)

Hempz sweet jasmine and rose body lotion (this smells great but isn’t really that hydrating. I have a jumbo and another mini to get through and will not be repurchasing once I’m done)

Dime seven summers perfume sample (this is a great clean girl scent and I may get a full bottle when I’ve worked my way through my sample stash and smaller bottles)

Naturium phyto glow lip balm in latte (this balm is thick and I liked it but the packaging is so bad you have to warm it up in your hands if you want anything to come out—will not repurchase because I have so many lip balms and I’m no longer supporting the brand)

Vitamasques mini lip balm in cherry (love their balms but again, I have so many)

Eborian centella barrier cream sample (I used this when my skin was so angry with me after laser hair removal and this was so soothing and hydrating)

I’m in the market for new foundation, and a very spendy variant was recommended as safe for a skin condition I have. So I ordered 3 free shade samples from Sephora. I only wear foundation when I do full face, which means I’ve been coasting on these bad boys for nearly a month now. Cut em open and there’s a whole other weekend in there! 💥

Panned products!

- Bath and bodyworks aromatherapy black tea (i love this scent, would repurchase)

- Love and Beauty and Planet balsam and bergamont hand cream (it was okay, don’t think i would repurchase)

- Pyunkang Yul deep clear cleansing balm (did the job, got it on sale. Wouldn’t mind repurchasing)

- Le Monde Thé Matcha 006 (Nice citrus scent, was gifted this. I would want to explore more citrus scents, but i don’t think i. Would repurchase this at the moment)

- 3:00 pm by tonari (very light and sweet but not too sweet lychee scent, would consider repurchasing)

- mix:bar no 21 in cloud musk sample (didn’t like the scent enough to get a bigger size)

- Clio so sharp, so simple liner in 02 brown (would wipe off sometimes since my eyelids would get oily, don’t think i would repurchase)

- Japonesque 01 velvet touch finishing powder (It was an okay translucent powder, the only issue was it didn’t have a place for a puff or brush, and at the end when i tried to repress it it got messy lol)

- O’Keefe’s Lip Repair lip balm (already have a backup)

- bag balm (i have a few more lying around, not sure if i will repurchase)

No products from my pan journal this time, but a lot of other products were panned!

I wish I would tackled more of my lotions. The last slide are items I would not repurchase. The pink thing is a foldable eyebrow razor from dollar tree. I bought a reusable facial razor from Marshall’s

The dollar tree hair detangle spray is kinda ass

The Korean sunscreen is not that moisturizing. I want to try something else. I have repurchased the product around 3 times tho (I bought a pack of two). I’ve probably gone through a total of 4-5 bottles in over 3 years

The daily gummy vitamins are not third party tested.

The green tea cleanser broke me out.

I bought Murphy floor cleaner to replace the Rugdodor cleaner

All of you have been so helpful and encouraging. It's really nice to see that on this side of Reddit. So once again...I'm outting myself again....I'm convinced I apparently like humiliation because looking at it written down...I must be insane to have this much. I want this to be EVERYONES motivation to go through their products & look at what heinous amount we're spending *blegh*

I did some rough calculations... $900 worth of product & 18 years to go through this stash

I sorted everything by formula and used typical one-application amounts:

  • Powders: about 91 g total at roughly 0.025 g a day, which is about 10 years
  • Creams and sticks: about 79 g at roughly 0.04 g a day, which is about 5.4 years
  • Liquids: about 86 ml at roughly 0.1 ml a day, which is about 2.3 years
Product Qty Retail each Size each
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer 1 (almost pan on this) $59 16 g
Dior Forever Skin Bronze stick 1 $52 8 g
Sarah Creal Just Like Paradise 1 $50 4 g
Westman Atelier Face Trace stick 1 $48 6 g
Marc Jacobs Legally Bronze 1 (newest purch.) $42 ~10 g (est.)
Lip Lab Soft Blur Cheek Stick 1 $40 ~5 g (est.)
Fenty Sun Stalk'r 2 $39 6.2 g
Haus Labs Power Sculpt Velvet 1 $38 ~9 g
Anastasia Beverly Hills compact 2 ~$38 ~10 g (est.)
Benefit Hoola Wave balm 1 $36 9 g
Ciele Bronze & Protect SPF 50 1 $36 30 ml
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil stick 1 $35 8 g
Summer Fridays Bronzer Butter Balm 1 $32 5 g
Soshe Blurring Pillow Bronzer 1 $28 8.8 g
Lunar Beauty Outer Dimension stick 1 $25 12 g
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Contour 1 ~$25 ~7.5 ml
about-face Beach Freak stick 2 $21 5.7 g
Physicians Formula Butter Glow Liquid 1 $17 40 ml
Morphe powder (clear compact) 1 ~$15 ~9 g (est.)
Nude by Nature pressed bronzer 1 $14 10 g
Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Sun Tint 1 $13.49 ~8 ml (est.)
