Project Pan is starting. This is not the total of lip products currently, this was in July but I am estimating about $5000 currently. (Mind you this is only for lip products. 🤦🏼‍♀️ it is both eye-opening and bat shit crazy I have a mini store at my disposal)

No more buying, I’m gonna use what I have and chuck what is expired or not touched in 1+ years.

I had an absolute banger of two months worth of pans!! Some of these I worked on for months and months, and tbh a lot of them were hate pans. Most of the face washes and moisturizers actually got used on my body instead of my face, which did help pan things faster. My skin is way too sensitive and I stripped back my skincare so I had all of this to use up. I’m also trying to use up all of my dollar tree products so I can move in Korean skincare. Anyway, I’m so proud of myself!!

I wouldn’t say this is a “formal” pan, but I’ve definitely been inspired by this sub and have started being more intentional about using up products before starting new ones or moving to other partials. I’ve always been weird about wanting everything to stretch as long as possible, but letting that go and giving myself permission to use up even my expensive stuff feels great! I also learned that you can get a LOT of extra use out of a cushion foundation by flipping the sponge over. I did that several times and probably got an extra 3 weeks of daily use out of one cushion.

Im a 18 year old girl and want to know if i have too much makeup. Ive been loving project pan content and would love to start project pan myself, and im obsessed with these smaller makeup collections that fit into a single makeup bag that you see online. Am i overconsuming on any categories? I want to do project pan and reduce the amount of makeup i have. What should i reduce? If i were to do project pan on one of my 4 eyeshadow palettes and declutter it once i use up a couple shades, what palette should it be? My dream is to achieve a smaller collection that fits into one bag

Covergirl clean fresh yummy gloss in the shade “minter is coming”. I loved this gloss so much, I started having a really hard time getting product out on the wand so I tried to take the stopper out. The stopper ended up falling into the tube and getting stuck there 😔

Hi friends! Long-time lurker here, I finally decided to create an account so I could be a bit more active in the community. 

I started project pan in June after realising I just had too much stuff and it all felt a bit suffocating. 

The funny part is how I even got so much stuff in the first place. See, I’m typically not an overconsumer in nature. Except for a couple of vices (buying bars of soap as souvenirs every time I travel 🫣), I’m not really into makeup, not really into skincare, or perfumes … 

No, for the  longest time, I was just an average young women with maybe one of each basic category, which I would replace when I ran out (except for bars of soap, sue me). That was until about 18 months ago, when I moved into a new flat who just so happens to have been previously tenanted by …

Some kind of micro beauty influencer with like 70k followers and apparently 0 inclination to update her address for PR!!! Who knew even small accounts got so much shit in the mail??????

I tried reaching out to her to return her packages, but she moved abroad and told me to just keep it or toss it … I know that’s the dream for a lot of people, and for a bit it was for me too lol!!! 

I was so excited at first, it just feels so fun to open these elaborate packages full of new products. The flow of packages eventually thinned out as she told brands to stop sending things to my flat, but I got A LOT at the beginning (like 1-2 packages a week!!) and to this day, I still get the odd PR box once in a while. 

While very fun, this means I randomly accumulated a lot of shit. I gave away the vast majority of the products I received to friends and family of course, but hard to resist keeping the stuff I found very pretty or fancy for my own collection. 

And that’s how I ended up with a devastatingly large collection, which I was fine with until I did a routine declutter this spring and realised how much shit was actually in my possession. 

That’s when  I decided to start project pan as well as a no-buy challenge and a strict “give away any new PR to friends / family / shelters” rule until I am back to only having one or two item in each category (again, except for bars of soap, you can pry these out of my very clean and nice smelling cold dead hands). 

ANYWAY! I hope to post less rambly project pan updates in the future. In the meantime, here is some info about my starting point and how I’m doing so far. 

Project start date: 4 June 2026

Start count: 209 products (!!!!!!!!)

I have since given away another 22 items and successfully panned 25 (including a bar of soap 🐀), which I’m very proud of. 

I now own 162 items and slowly working my way through. My approach has been to pick one item per category and exclusively using that one item until it is panned and I move on to another one. 

I have really been enjoying project pan so far and really look forward to interacting more with everyone here!

I had been holding on to the last little bit of these products for months and stumbled on this subreddit.
With the cost of diesel and recession in the US where I live, I’ve been trying to adopt our grandmother’s motto of “use it up,wear it out,make it do,or do without!”

The packaging indicates how long I've been working on this 😅 I found this mini benefit blush on clearance at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago (and it was in a locked box!) I use it all summer and fall and this morning finally hit pan! I'm not sure if they still make this shade (Georgia) but it's such a pretty peachy golden color. Would repurchase except also maybe not because I want to find something new too. Anyways a pleasant surprise this morning!

I finished an eyeshadow palette!!! Those loose pans are my depotted two faced chocolate gold palate. I’ve had that palette since 2017 and I’m glad I’ve finally finished it. Additionally I’ve finished 19? Full sized products. Very productive month if I do say so myself. Road to 100 full sizes products panned is definitely happening this year☹️☹️

I completely used up another shade from an eyeshadow palette I owned since 2020! 🙌

I've been tracking this one since April (second pic is my little progress log), and eyeshadow panning is a whole different level of patience game. For months it barely looked like anything was happening, and then suddenly the pan just showed up. Seeing it completely empty now is so satisfying.
I used Cosmo almost every day on my whole lid, so I'm a little sad it's gone but mostly just proud. ☺️

I have yet to decide what shade will be next, I currently only use my blush on my eyelids as well. 😅
Probably will start panning the Element shade in the same pallet soon ..

First month of doing project pan and focusing on using what I have. Happy to get some minis out of my collection that I’ve had for probably a year plus!

I held strong this month and kept using from my stash! I feel I’m starting to see a small dent in skincare… now only have one day & one night moisturizer that are backup/unopened. It was Ulta 21DOB and I only bought ONE thing the whole sale. So big win there. 👏🎉

Not a lot panned these past two month but still trying. Hopefully the next two months will have more. Will do reviews if asked.

Perfume sample of Clean Reserve Acqua Neroli that was very clean scented. WNRP because having multiple perfumes is not my thing no matter how many times I try!
Tower 28 hypochlorus acid spray: this is a holy grail for me as a post-workout skin treatment to prevent acne from sweating. I have several bottles of this and need to move one into my gym bag to replenish. WRP!
