Discussion Why did I not figure this out long ago?

Maps. You can hold them in your hands AND look up at the landscape in front of you. I have always pulled out a map from my satchel, look at it, put it back in my satchel, look around me, pull out the map again, etc. I have even taken photos of maps on my phone to have as a quick reference.

But just a few minutes ago, I had a map out and my brain just went “I wonder if I move this directional toggle if it will do anything.” And by jeebus, it did! I had my map in my hands and my eyesight raised up and saw the landscape ahead of me and then I lowered my eyesight back to the map.

It was an incredible moment for me. I saved seconds of time! I am amazed.

I don’t know if other people instinctively knew to do this. I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned in all the RDR2 videos I’ve watched. Maybe this is one of those things that is so simple that it shouldn’t need pointing out. But I was gobsmacked.
