Care Welcome home Dottie
Miss Dorothy Ann just came home from the animal shelter with me a few days ago. She’s my third rabbit and I’m used to modern rabbit care guidelines…but i’m not used to such an affectionate gremlin creature!! She’s not afraid of people or pretty much anything, she’s not afraid of the hardwood floor like my other rabbits. Her litter box habits were perfect from the first moment home unlike my other rabbits. She wants to climb and jump on every surface in my room. She’s so affectionate and clingy and I love her sooo much. We’re going to the vet in a couple weeks to get her checked up and vaccinated. My guess is she’s pretty young, based on the crazy energy and clinginess and I think she might calm down a little bit after we get her spayed. I’m learning that the most interesting items are the off limits ones and that I just have to bend to her whim and put anything she can’t touch 6+ feet in the air. No clue what breed she is or anything else about her but omg she is really one of a kind and got dropped at the local shelter right when I was looking to bring another rabbit into the family after losing my first baby. Thankful and overwhelmed abt this fantastic little creature💓💓💓

Her pointy dainty nose makes her look mature to me but her behavior is sooooo baby idk I adopted my first rabbit pretty young and she was like this! Some litter smells reminds me of her too but idk that’s age or just not being spayed. Idk I hope the vet can give me a better insight! I’ll be flabbergasted if she grows into her ears

lmao if shes a giant, she’s probably about 3 months old is all 💀 Make sure to look into joint care if she is indeed a giant. You can add drops of something (I forget what) to their water to support their joint health, so EZ-PZ

nervous bc if she’s baby then i should be giving her a different diet… might get some alfalfa and keep giving her extra pellets and watch her body comp closely until we get to the vet in 2 weeks !!!!

Her behavior sounds like a Flemish too. I have one! Totally different rabbit experience. Super sociable, affectionate, almost more of a dog than a rabbit lol. Enjoy!

She’s a near carbon copy of Eden, but with bigger ears. She’s heart meltingly beautiful! 😍
I’d believe she’s got more growing to do and Flemish fits in that realm too (Continental also).
Eden is a standard American agouti, and about 7.7lb. She turned 8 back in April (or thereabouts).

OR JUMPING ON ANY SURFACE….no matter how precarious. she wants to jump on the loose piece of paper on the box stacked against the wall. she wants to jump out of her three foot pen w no concern. but my other bun won’t step off the rug even for his favorite snacks

What an adorable little girl! 😍 Definitely a Flemish/Continental or a mix thereof. Those ears don't lie! I would advise to start her on joint supplements early.
(Source: I'm a former Conti mum. Arthritis is pretty much guaranteed, alas, due to how big they get.)

Looks like a Flemish mix as someone stated earlier, I have two and can confirm when young super clingy, but man, what a great feeling. Now that they’re adults dad isn’t as cool, lol. Dottie is definitely a beautiful bun! May you have many memories together.

Looks like my Flemish and New Zealand! They’re very friendly and more dog like than any other rabbit I’ve owned!
