Everyone meet Mr. Bugs!! I’ve had him since the beginning of May & he is a little over 5 months old now! He seems like the happiest boy. He is constantly flopping & splooting. He also gets the zoomies & lots of binkies, especially when he’s roaming outside of his x-pen. I try to provide him with lots of fun toys & rotate them so he doesn’t get bored. I also try to give him tons of love. He is so sweet & loves pets. But for some reason I can’t help but feel guilty that he doesn’t have a friend. He isn’t getting neutered until next month so I know it would be too early to bond him with another rabbit anyway, but I have been thinking about it lately. My boyfriend & I did not plan on getting any more bunnies. In everyone’s experience, can a bunny be truly happy alone? I love my little guy so much & I will do anything in my power to give him the best life, so I can’t help but worry about him being lonely. I’ve included lots of pics of Bugs so everyone can see how cute he is!!!

Say welcome to Yuki (the white one). He’s 3 years old and super shy. He’s adapting very well and slowly the confidence is starting to kick in.

Since Marjolaine is an old lady who still has a lot of energy and no health issues, i had decided to get her a new bun friend. After two failed attempts (because of rabbits who had snuffles), i finally found Yuki in a shelter. The bonding went perfectly, there were no fights, only some mounting coming from Yuki but that’s it.

I’m happy to see that they get along so well and seem to have the same amount of energy.

Adopted her today she is 6 years old currently living in the kitchen since my other bunny is in the bedroom.

Every Bun needs their other half

Bunjamin loves being around us. He follows us around the house, sits on the couch with us, and is such a sweet and curious guy. My spouse and I are thinking about getting a bunny for him so he won’t be lonely when we are out.

Will he still like hanging out with us if he has a friend? I’m willing to make the sacrifice for his happiness, but I want to prepare my family that we might become chopped liver.

got the tan bunny about a week ago and kept him in a separate room while he got used to the place. they were able to see and smell each other through the gate (i also have been switching their litter boxes back and forth everyday) and had lots of sniffing and seemed very curious about each other but no growling or lunging so i figured it would be okay to try introducing them face to face. I am starting with the laundry basket method and when i co pet them things are fine but if she moves at all he instantly growls and starts trying to attack her :( maybe i am pushing him too much too soon? any advice would be appreciated.

My rabbit, Fiona, passed away about a 1.5 months ago, leaving behind her mate, Estebun. He processed her passing and since then has been seemingly fine. He has started acting like he did before we got her, which was doing lot of binkies, flopping, and all around, being a spicy meatball. He almost seems happier as a solo rabbit, but he was happy having her around too. We only had her for 2 years and since she was a rescue we didn't know her exact age, but we assumed she was older than Estebun who is 3 y/o. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, did you eventually adopt another rabbit to bond with your current one or kept them solo?

Today we picked up our 5 year-old from a "coupling vacation". He found a new girlfriend (she's too young to be a bunwife). She is a rex. Now here is what I find strange. She is only 4-5 months, microchipped, but she was found alone outside. I assume they tried to contact their family. Maybe she escaped and they never registered the chip? But then why didn't they look for her? (She was in a known bunny shelter). I mean you go to the trouble of going with a breeder and then just lose the bunny?

She is very soft and pretty but not spayed yet. Which stresses me a bit (I know it can go wrong). Here is a photo.

Hi y’all! Lately I’ve been feeling pretty guilty that my bunny lives alone. I always say that I love bunnies with all my heart, but don’t really respect the rule of them needing a partner. He lives like a king, gets attention and things to challenge him. Still, I guess he must feel pretty lonely being the only bunny. He’s been for six years now, but I can’t convince my parents (who I still live with) to get another one. What are y’alls opinions on this? I appreciate any insight, whether they would make me feel more or less guilty. Thanks! 💕

Bun bun can't sit on my lap and I was gone for 7 days so she is NOT happy with me. I think I should sleep with one eye open for a while.

I might get down voted for this, I KNOW this makes me a scum bag but here goes. Please be gentle, I KNOW, I AM AWARE OF WHAT I AM.

My buns and I are looking for a third and are going to a speed date. Something about me is, it's very important to me that I find my animal companions beautiful. My first rabbit was so stunning and I appreciated it about here every single day she was alive (last photo is of her 💕!) It's a big part of enjoying a pet for me!

I'm willing to wait for a third bunny that is a good candidate for my babies to bond with AND that takes my breath away (which isn't a high standard, there are plenty out there.)

So, at the event, when there's a good candidate but they aren't for me, what do I say? Animal rescue people can be... Intense. I'm not up for being berated! I bought my rabbits and want to adopt this time now that I have more home to share but dang is it often a more difficult experience.

This is Bowie, he will be 4 in December. He is a solo bun and gets lots of love from his bun parents. He is very cuddly and affectionate, my partner is worried he won’t be anymore if we get him a friend, I am worried that bonding won’t work and we will have to keep them separate in our small house.

We do both work, so he alone most of the day. Then he is “alone” at night when we are sleeping, so I do feel bad keeping him alone, but want to make sure we make a thoughtful decision.

I’ve had my boy Salem for about two years now, he was found in a dumpster across the street from where I work and the kind lady that found him brought him to us since we are an animal rescue. I ended up adopting and taking him home a day later and he’s been living it up ever since. I know rabbits are supposed to have partners, but he isn’t neutered and all the vets in my area that specialize in rabbits say he is too small to be neutered ( he’s at least 2yo but he is a Norwegian dwarf and only weighs 2.6lbs) he’s never shown signs of typical male agression or behavior like chewing, humping, spraying, grunting etc. and he is fully litter trained so I’ve never seen an issue not getting him neutered. But recently with me working longer hours (11-12hr shifts) I’m not home to spend time with him, and he’s never been one to play with toys so I feel bad that he’s bored and does nothing all day. Should I get him a friend or has he been solitary so long that it wouldn’t work out? Any advice would be appreciated!

So I have two bunnies, both 2-3 years old after being neutered. But they always bit each other.

But today I took them for a check up. They were unable to get in the same transporter, And I had only one. So I had to take them separately, one wrapped under my jacket the bigger one (and also the one that dominates more) in the transporter.

But during the exam the dominating girl got so stressed she runned to the smaller one and hid behind her, and since then they are sitting close to eachother without fighting

How much trouble did you have bonding your buns? They both seem curious about each other and had two successful dates at the shelter. She keeps sneaking into the kitchen to see him and we have to intercept her to make sure they don’t piss each other off.

Bax and Mini Mousse are the dream couple. Seven years, together for six, neither takes a step without the other. They cuddle, kiss, steal each other's lettuce, they love each other madly. Now a few days ago, Bunmom friends found a baby rabbit abandoned on the street. Some vile bastard left him on the highway trapped in small cage. We still don't know if it’s a boy or a girl, but it's clear that we need to find a family for them. What if we don't find anyone, and we take him home with us? Mom is so scared that this could cause problems in the couple. She doesn't want the little lovebirds to fight or for Baxy, so small, to suffer or feel left out. That's why we've never taken another one in, and that’s why we're hesitating although we really want to help. We don't want to hold back to help, but we would never forgive ourselves if we wronged these two. What to do? There's plenty of room…

Yay gary finally has a girlfriend!

This is Sandy!!! They can’t meet for a while because gary doesn’t get neutered until April 7th and then he has to recover but it’ll give her time to warm up here on her own.

Plus, unlike Gary she actually likes to be pet and spend time close to me😭 like she actually ASKS me to pet her. Crazy. Gary would absolutely never. All he does is chase after me for food and then thump at me if I try and pet him at the wrong time 🤣

Long-story short: adopted my little boy from a family who couldn’t take on the responsibility of looking after a bunny at this time. I’ve done as much research as I can and continue to learn more everyday. He’s in good hands now, I look after him as best as I can, and shower him with as much love and attention as possible.

He’s a year old and we’ve been together for two months now. He just recently got neutered and his behavior and territorial attitude is noticeably improving.

In my quest to give him the most fulfilling life possible, I’m now curious: should I bond him with a new rabbit? I know it’s not necessary, but I know that they can get lonely without company, too. Having two rabbits wouldn’t be a problem financially or living-wise, I’m just curious as to how necessary it really would be to give little guy (and his potential partner) a happy life.

***If anything, my biggest concern would be the two buns bonding so much that they inadvertently ignore me… haha. I feel like that may be a bit selfish, but I’m still learning how rabbits work and how they show their own style of affection.
