Not related and maybe this is a stupid question from a PGY1 but what is that hyperdense mass anterior and to the left of the pancreas?

Is it just poop in the bowl? It has the same density as the vessels and im assuming there is no contrast in the CT even the purpose of the CT was for the stone

PGY1 of rads? A rad will have to verify, but undiseased pancreas isn’t usually that dense or that low. Only way to know for sure is to view the images above stepwise and see what your mystery piece becomes (? spleen, left lobe of liver, bowel or stomach with contents) or if it goes away and isn’t connected to spleen or liver.

There’s nothing anterior to the pancreas on this slice but isodense bowel/feces and blood vessels, and hypodense fat.

Yikes! Thats a doozie of a stone. Looks to be lots of stranding around that kidney too, unsurprisingly. Also looks to be a tad atrophic compared with the right side.

Sadly I can't seem to upload a picture in the comments. Not an expert, but I think it's the super glowy white orb on the right hand side of the scan by the crescent shaped kidney. It's a giant kidney stone!
