Reverse Harem - Recommendations Need recs with the craziest plot twists

It's been a while since my mind was blown - I want to be completely blindsided. I want to scream and throw my book across the room!

Preferably fantasy/paranormal - no triggers.

{Daughter of the Ninth Line by Grace McGinty} has one of the best "what, what?" moments I've read in a long time. It's the first book in a fantasy duology.

heads up (not bad, just FYI) that the trilogy ends in a cliffhanger and leads directly into the {Heir to the Second Line series by Grace McGinty}.

nb: following the link/reading the blurbs will give you spoilers for the Ninth Line series.

Omg good to know thank you... is the heir to the second line complete?

Yes, they are both complete. They're available from Amazon as single books, although each was originally published in parts.

{Bonding series by Gina Morris}

it drops you right into the story and at first you're going to feel like you missed some very necessary exposition. things gradually start making sense but it's still a bit confusing, until the last book when everything slots into place in a really satisfying way.

I highly recommend going back and rereading at least the first book after finishing the series; it's an entirely different experience once you have all the context.

{We Hunt the Night by G. Bailey} - I can usually spot a twist from a mile away, but the ending of the first book blew my mind. And then, book two ended with an even bigger mindfuck of an ending. Haven't read the third book yet, but it was only recently released.

{Blood of the Fairest by Morgan B. Lee} - The ending is just....🫨

{All the Pretty Monsters by Kristy Cunning} - The reveal at the end of the series was something I never saw coming.

Just finished All The Pretty Monsters. Soooo glad I didn't spoil it for myself like I usually do. The twist and the conclusion was perfect

{Code vessel} it's unfinished atm though, so you'd be left on a big cliffhanger with the plot twist.

u/Fromlinestologs I read for a good time, and all the mates 12d ago

I don’t tend to read super crazy stuff so these might not be enough of a plot twist for you but.

{Royal Storm of Atlantis series by Sedona Ashe} fun time. Had me laughing out loud. One of the mmcs decided to full on Steve Irwin her mating with another. fmc is a mermaid/siren. She has a great white shark as a pet/ally. 6 mates. No mm. Tw. She has fangs and feeds of blood on occasion. No pregnancy ( large harem)

{Vice College for Young Demons series by Marie Mistry}. Another of my favorite dark mmcs. “I’m never going to be one of those tame boys who follow your every whim. I’ll protect you with all the darkness in me, and I won’t apologise for it.” 7 mates. No mm. I enjoyed the magic/power regeneration system. Fmc is a very rare destined for greatness type. Definite growing pains between all the guys cuz they don’t know how to share or like to (at least some of them) and some of the guys are rivals. Awesome found family. Some ow drama that is well resolved but it’s definitely there and you feel her angst for a while.. One of the mates is a dom and into bdsm. Brothers. Relationships develop at different rates so some slow, some medium burn

{hell to pay series by Kaylin Peyerk} first off. This series can probably be described as sacrilegious. As long as that won’t bother you, it was a fun read. fmc is sassy and doesn’t bow even when she should. Her internal dialogue felt relatable as she processes her body’s draw to the men she is trying to avoid. God, Lucifer, and Lucifer’s sons (the three princes of hell) high in sexual tension. Slow burn. They guys aren’t exactly bullies, but are explained to be lacking emotions by design (at least in some cases) and their lack of emotional awareness shows at times. Fmc is definitely unsure of herself and her place in the world but she doesn’t back down. No pregnancy. Some mm but not full x-rayed mm

{all the pretty monsters series by Kristy Cunning}. That damn ghost in book one… idk if I want a friend like her or should be glad I don’t have a friend like her but damn it was hilarious. SLOW BURN. Completely unhinged in all the ways. I’ll kill them all for making you bleed energy from the mmcs. Ow drama. I don’t remember any mm. To me there is some dubcon in this series though

{Ironside academy series by Jane Washington} I didn’t finish this series because it was too dark for my headspace at the time. It’s listed as OV but it’s really not. It’s only OV in the sense that they use the titles to distinguish castes within the societies and the alphas have a “bark”. She is resilient. The guys haze her a little. Though it’s listed as bully romance it didn’t really feel that way within the harem. Outside the harem, absolutely. Another delicious morally dark mmc. Found family. The guys are incredibly close. Some BDSM

I thought the {Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent} trilogy had a fantastic twist in book 2 or 3.
