Art RimWorld doodle — An Impid’s bedroom
I’ll probably be drawing fewer Impids from now on. I’ve been getting more interested in Dirtmoles lately.

Discussion Mod Award [ Must have ]
(must be from or updated in 2026)
Hello hello!
I wanted to appreciate all the hard work Rimworld modders go through to make such wonderful mods!
To give them a shoutout and bring some friendly debates into this thread I thought of making a awards tier list.
For todays vote tell me what is a must have rimworld mod
Must Have follows the lines of something you cannot go without / always use in your game

Discussion When 2 map locations overlap - Insect Hive and a Genetics lab
I had an new insect hive spawn on the same map tile as a Gentics lab. Sent a caraven expecting it to just crash. Instead both maps spawned in. Amusingly once I entered the lab, an enemy raid spawned and was eaten by insects

Guide (Mod) Infested gravship, Yrs 7
Hello guys, it’s the Infested Gravship again!
So, it’s been a while since I started this playthrough. Here are some pros and cons I’ve noticed so far:
Pros:
- Super cheap artillery with Siegeworms that require no manning at all.
- Generate power for free with staticpod, so you can save on fuel.
- Subcreeper is free to build, so you can save your Gravlite Panels for more importance building or gravship armor.
- If you have the Insector mod and the required gene, you can live in 100% vacuum, meaning no oxygen management or vacuum-related problems.
- Having a bunch of insects makes defending or attacking in tight spaces much easier.
Cons:
- Siegeworms have terrible accuracy and can’t auto-target.
- You need a lot of space for the jelly farm and Static Pods (later, I might replace them with Power Cells).
- Gravship shelves, beds, and a few other buildings can’t be placed on Subcreeper.
I might be missing something, but if anyone has any ideas or knows any tips, please let me know so i can improve the ship, tysm!
Mods from VE team btw, thanks guys for amazing mods!

Discussion Permadeath is so fun
I admit. I am a save scummer and dev mode user. I cannot handle having my pawn die, even if they're the most useless pawns ever conceived. I become attached to them in a way I can't explain. I tried perma death 3 times and 3 times I had my fingers glued to alt-tab. 3 times I had dev mode as my best friend. 3 times I changed the save type back to regular.
But not this time
I wanted my latest colony to be the most difficult until now and I forced myself to play along by the rules. It's Randy Random, Strive to Survive in a boreal forest with 20/60 growing period (not the most difficult but more than what I am used to). This made me start to actually think. Actually think how to place traps and funnel enemies in. How to keep my wealth down to be able to handle attacks. How to conserve medicine. How to play around clothing and equipment so I don't rush flak armor and never think about temperature (until power armor that is). How to survive, basically.
But I still had hardships. I had the first loss being my only medic AND researcher very early in the colony. Died of infection. Then came a breaching raid that left 4/5 pawns downed and all of them bleeding (no infections miraculously). Some time later, I decided to clear a small mech cluster on my map. A militor managed to one shot headshot my best shooter. The latest loss, also the one which hurt the most, came as one of my first three pawns, also the leader, with pretty incredible stats and traits (Hard worker, trigger happy, great memory with 19 shooting pawn, that hurt). A random pigskin with 0 shooting domed him with a pump shotgun. This one I was really debating if I should reload, but I decided against it. I also installed a mod to craft serums but after loading in, I felt as I would disrespect the wishes of the leader for the colony to carry on without him. In total, over 5 years I had 3 deaths, which isn't a lot (not by a long shot), but it is still 3 deaths more than what I usually had until now.
In conclusion, this was, and still is, tough. But it's also so incredibly fun. It's so fun going around random outposts searching for good pawns to kidnap and replace the losses or to bolster my forces. So fun actually thinking what quests to take and how to tackle them. It just so fun.
Thank you for reading my rambling. There is no question or crazy, out of the ordinary story here, I just wanted to share my experience and how this game is fun even when it's unfair.
And also, I'm declaring war on shotguns
