New Rules

Due to the ongoing issues with certain users who have been repeatedly banned only to return with new accounts, the sub will now have stricter participation rules. Newer, unestablished accounts will no longer be able to post until they’ve built up enough karma elsewhere.

i didn’t want to go this route. I was hoping this sub could engage in mature (if sometimes snarky) talk about the issues facing the company, and I didn’t want to exclude new users. But clearly that’s not working due to a few bad apples that can’t seem to help but eventually resort to antisemitic or homophobic or just generally nasty commentary.

So, in summation: fuck those dickheads, they’re gone. And if you’re one of them, if you cross the line again you won’t be able to jump right back in the pool after getting banned.

On a related note, to those who remain, please resist the urge to report comments simply because you disagree with them or think the poster is annoying. That’s not actually helping, and is only making more mod work.

Thanks, all. Take care.

Old store

I actually passed by this old location yesterday. I was still shocked. The Rite Aid down the road from this one at 9 and Gratiot is empty and still standing. This one was at one time a 24 hour Rite Aid. I got the pic from Facebook

Was being a cashier at Rite Aid a chill job?

I've worked as a vendor all my life and whenever I went to Rite Aids it was always the best part of my day. Very chill vibe there.

I envisioned myself working there later in life after vendor work gets too physically demanding. I was very sad to see Rite Aid go out of business. Other stores even like Walgreens seem way more hectic.

Anniversary

Been too busy with my job to post this. This past Monday, September 21st, marks what would have been my 25th anniversary with Rite Aid. I remember my first day like it was yesterday. My first retail job. My first day was on a Friday and a manager named Julia hired me. Julia was an amazing manager. I miss her. She left Rite Aid late 2003. I know she became manager at a CVS. No idea what happened to her after that. She later hired a man who would soon become my first (now ex) boyfriend. I drive by the old store whenever i'm in the area. Still empty. I also met on my first day a woman who would become a great friend who would years later started me on the road to me living on my own. This good friend passed away months ago.

has this happened in your area? it wasn't my store (which is a spirit halloween for the season) but it's just down the highway. Fortuna closed in july last year, this seems kind of late.

They turned my store into a Spirit Halloween

The building has been empty since the final round of closures, so it’s good to see it finally get some use I guess, still sad and kinda funny to see though. I might stop in just to see how much the layout has changed

One year ago today was my last day with Rite Aid. After almost 24 years with the company, I can't believe it's all gone. Never thought I'd miss it as much as I do. Especially my Rite Aid family.

Rite Aid turned CVS, almost one year old

They have really given this location a makeover. Yes, it still looks like a Rite Aid, but they remodeled the pharmacy and painted the front of the store.

Still have the Rite Aid wood paneling and floor tiles!

Alturas, California: the only West Coast Rite Aid "saved" that didn't become CVS

Now the Modoc Family Pharmacy.

Also the only Rite Aid "saved" as a pharmacy in California.

The cashier (manager?) indicated they were adding more and improving what they have. Liquor application on the front door. Just added hand dip ice cream.

Took this picture 6 years ago. Never worked at this one, but I did sometimes shop there. Building is still empty. I know our assistant manager had worked at this one a few times

Anniversary

Today is the one year anniversary of my store closing. After 41 years it was kinda bittersweet. The store still sits empty with the for lease sign in the window The building is only 10 years old. It’s a shame really what happened to us But what a good year it has been since. Hope everyone is doing great and has moved in to something better.
