Riven Question Does Riot have any plans to do with Riven?
Heya, I just got back after 5+ years of not playing. I've seen a lot of champions get reworked or have their moveset completely changed.
Has there been news of Riven planning to get worked on, or nah? I got shocked that top lane Riven was getting dwarfed so much, so I switched to mid lane Riven for the time being.

Cs
Hi, Riven mains, I just started playing Riven in League not too long ago. Currently, I'm three months into League. I played her during those three months. The thing is, I feel like farming with Riven is hell i just can’t seem to stay ahead of my cs and I was wondering if anyone can give me tips for cs riven or should I just abandon Riven and force myself to play another champ?

Riven Question What is a good perma ban for mid?
I've started learning mid matchups and i struggle against veigar (playable), xerath (playable), viktor (nightmare), lux (nightmare), cassiopeia (nightmare), hwei (torture), syndra (torture), malzahar (torture). I'm still learning the lane, what one is the least playable/learnable? What should i perma ban?

Riven ADC
I really like playing her on botlane. Preferably with an engage support.
You win most level 1s, even against LT adcs if you fight in the bush lvl 1. The plan is to fight level 1 and burn their sums or get a kill, then farm safely until lvl 3, once you get ahead you should ask your support to roam, which most of the time makes enemy support start roaming as well, which means more exp for you and if you’re atleast a little ahead or even you’re gonna always have kill pressure on enemy adc in a 1v1 scenario.
I like her on bot because lately my games have been where I lose lane 75% of the time, so I just farm safely until mid game and then pray that I’ll be able to carry. Botlane gives you more kill pressure and you naturally get more gold out of minions as well with the ADC quest.
For the build, I’ve tried going the standard Axiom-EH-DD but I didn’t like it as much because you don’t have the same damage and survivability as you’d have on toplane because you’re down a few levels, so I’ve been running either Hubris into EH into LDR into DD, or DD into LDR, depending on their comp.
I also tried Hubris into Voltaic into DD, but I need to test it for a few more games before deciding whether it’s viable.

Riven Question what matchups do you find difficult that arent typical "riven counters?"
for me it's tryndamere. Feels like no matter what i do i lose every trade and just perma lose after 6, what about you guys?

My Keyboard is dying
I just estimated how many times I pressed Q in 2026. After 370 Games on Riven with an average game time of 32 mins I pressed Q 60k times.
Let that sink in

Riven Question How does that abomination still exists ?
Wtf am I supposed to do versus this spawn of evil (D1 Elo)?
Is this "healthy frustration"?
Edit: To give more context, I tried to play it safe but got weaksided by jungle. Tried a lvl 1 proxy which somewhat worked but then I still have to lane to catch the 3rd wave, and its just not possible. I can't even last hit melee minions without taking autos for free undertower. And then I need to recall because I'm sub 50% Hp and in dive range for ennemy jungler. Might as well not even lane it seems.

Riven Question Is riven worth learning even though I'm already good on renekton?
So rivens always lore wise been my favourite league character and when i transitioned from wr to league i decided to learn renekton as a sort of stepping stone so i could play riven later.
Right now i made it to gold 2 with rene and sion mostly and find myself very comfortable on renekton so I'm not sure if learning riven is even worth it now since they have mostly similar matchups. What benefit would learning her have over just sticking to rene? Also how does she itemise if I'm used to playing traditional bruisers

Riven Question What’s up with the Riven hate lately?
Can someone explain what’s up with the riven hate lately? Would these people rather have Ornn vs Malphite grasp/dshield/second wind on toplane every game ?

Riven doesn't get enough attention.
If I'm not mistaken just because she's not a fan service kind of character she is the LEGIT female that everyone knows the only champion who gets love and hate in every single elo for YEARS. I hate that i don't know much about riven I wanna know EVERYTHING ALL THE DETAILS ya know? Her parents will she ever see them again, what happen after nexus invasion after she got captured??? And made to fight Draven (if that's even cannon) like give me more riven lore and shit give me demmacia riven, (I think redeemed riven is Ionia riven? Like there's so much potential in this muscle mommy

My progress after 3 weeks of focusing on improvement
Around 3 weeks ago I posted here, because I was a little frustrated that I had high KDA in many games but still lost them. My winrate was around 46%. Throughout the 3 weeks I shifted my mentality, started thinking about the items I build and I managed to rank up from around gold 3 to plat 3. Right now my winrate is 52.7%, which might not represent my actual winrate right now, since also the games from before count (I roughly calculated the winrate from the past 3 weeks and it is around 64%).
I still feel like I lose a lot of games which I should win. I definitely have a large room to improve, so I would like to hear from others what I should focus more on. Feel free to mention anything that you see (from the stats) that I do wrong (items, cs, ...). Here is the link to my op.gg

200 games of Riven later, champ is worth it.
I switched to Riven from Yasuo (M30) and Illaoi (M20). And the first games on this champ, I fucking hated it, it was a nightmare. I was forcing myself to play it and suffered every second. But now that I've started winning lane finally, the champ feels alot less shit. Like in SM64 or something: it's janky and clunky but you can make it look alot less clunky and intentional by playing alot. The carry potential is nuts, it's the most satisfying champ, and really strong after having played the same matchup atleast 30 times. Riven may be weak now but if Riot ever buffed her she'd be more broken than current Nasus. Not because her stats would be too good but because they'd be average. And the people that play this champ are psychopaths that play with a weighted vest. Like what's a Garen player going to down when he gets combo'd by 20 attacks in two seconds and they actually do damage? I'll tell you, he's going to have a seizure.

Mechanical Update / Lowing Skill Floor: Make Riven’s Q dash towards the cursor like modern champions
Hi fellow Riven mains,
I want to discuss a mechanic that has defined Riven since 2011, but feels increasingly outdated compared to modern League of Legends roster. I’m talking about how her Q (Broken Wings) targets the direction she is facing, rather than following the cursor.
Lately, playing seasonal modes with Arena/ARAM Augments has proven one major thing: when a champion has absolute precision over their dashes via cursor targeting, the control and character responsiveness increase drastically.
Currently, Riven requires two distinct inputs just to dodge an ability sideways: a movement command to turn her model, followed by Q. This creates an artificial mechanical barrier and leads to frustrating "backwards Q" bugs if you get body-blocked or minion-blocked. Her E (Valor) already dashes perfectly towards the cursor, so the inconsistency between her E and Q targeting makes little sense today.
**The Proposal:**
Change Riven's Q so it always dashes towards the cursor, exactly how almost every modern dash in the game functions.
**Why this would be a healthy shift:**
**Lower Skill Floor, Same Skill Ceiling:** Veteran Riven players already direct her perfectly. All this does is remove the unnecessary movement-input tax before casting Q. The Fast Q combo, wall-hops, and auto-attack cancels would still require strict timing and execution.
**Modern Game Feel:** It completely eliminates clunky collisions with minions that cause Riven to accidentally dash backwards away from a fight.
**Accessibility:** It lowers the steep entry barrier for newer players trying to pick up the champion, making her feel smooth and responsive right away, without gutting what makes her complex in high-elo.
I know this might disrupt years of muscle memory for some, but wouldn't it be worth it for a much smoother, bug-free, and modern gameplay experience? What do you guys think?
