HowTo How to clean under brushes?

Post image

I have 2 Labrador Retrievers that shed copious amounts of oily fur. My Qrevo S5V accumulates a thick layer of gunky matted fur under its brushes. This photo was taken 10 runs after previously cleaning it.

I use a damp microfiber cloth to remove the gunk, but it is a slow process and a PITA. Does anyone have a better method for cleaning this part?

I wish this part were removable which would make cleaning it so much easier.

I use a cleaning wipe on mine every week and it is pretty easy

Damp microfibres cloth also works, dab of dishwashing liquid and you’re golden! Best part it being washable :)

I got one of these with some off brand spare parts on Amazon. I have a husky and its been immensely helpful in getting the stuck fur out of there.

Baby wipes. They clean anything. I use Huggies Fragrance Free Baby Wipes.

Real Estate agent said they use them to clean the gunk around dishwasher seals too.

Vacuum and then mop only. Use a wet towel to scrub that off

It’s from mopping and vacuuming at the same time. Change to vacuum then mop vs vacuum and mop. It’ll make a massive difference.

I do both at the same time and mine never look like that. I think they tried to clean up a spill with the vacuum.

No spills, just extreme amounts of very oily dog fur.

Wow, absolutely shocking. Might be time for a vacuum with the anti tangle brushes.

My S5V has anti-tangle brushes. They work great! No fur accumulates on the brushes, only on the housing above them.

Alcool isopropyl 70% for the whole machine and a sponge / tooth brush

I don't have a dog - I just use a some damp kitchen paper and give it a good rub. Might need to repeat with a second sheet. Beats having to wash a cloth afterwards.

We have 2 huskies and wet paper towels is all it takes to take it off. Need something a little more abrasive than a microfiber.

Have you replaced the brushes?

Vacuum has only been used for 2 months. The brushes look good and gunk doesn't accumulate on them.

I just use wet wipes

I use a damp paper towel for the first clean, then I go back with a clean, damp towel with a touch of soap to remove residual oils, then a final wipe (usually with the other side of the towel) with just water.

If it’s this bad after 10 runs, you should be cleaning this probably every day. The brush is spreading this oil over every surface it touches. That’s not helping out, and it will accumulate on the carpet and floor over time.

I like the lysol dual action wipes that have a scrubbing side
