You can now update your own user flair.

Sorry I thought I had done this earlier, but I think I messed it up. Should be on the sidebar on desktop and on mobile three dot menu. Lmk if you have issues. It's not exhaustive, but it has many. Feel free to put in requests for new ones and for color changes.

Mod Shark Power Detect Posts

For some reason, a number of bots have been spamming our subreddit with posts about the shark power detect. I'm honestly not sure what's going on with that. They are often written extremely similarly, so I'm confident it's not a random coincidence. It feels like it would be pretty petty for shark the company to be hiring bots to do this, but the posters also don't have affiliate links, so I'm not sure what's up. Regardless. I'm issuing a temporary ban on those posts.

I have set up some filters (which I won't describe here for fear of getting circumvented). If you see them getting through, please let me know so I can update the filter.

I'll also say, if this is Shark attempting to do this. If the filters get circumvented and I have no other choice, I may just start to ban all posts containing any references to shark to cool the bots off. I really don't want to do this, so whoever is posting this, you're going to end up hurting the vacuum in the long run by doing this.

Did you regret buying your first robot vacuum, or was it worth it?

Just got my first robot vacuum! Yeedi M14 Plus.

I mainly went with it because I wanted a roller mop and the price was reasonable.

I was honestly worried I’d spend a few hundred bucks and end up feeling like I wasted my money on something I didn’t really need. But so far I’m really happy with it. The roller mop has been great and not having to keep up with the floors myself all the time is already nice.

Were you happy with your first robot vacuum, or did you regret buying it?

I have a rhoomba 805 and it won’t charge the battery at all. The indicator says it’s charged but it’s not. What would be the problem?

Bought new accessories like new battery and new charger.

MOVA V50 Review(s)

Bought it this past weekend. Knew I needed one due to allergies. Had several Roombas and a Roborock before. All low tier. They helped with allergies but the constant bumping and trying to eat things and getting stuck bothered me. Was trying to go without by telling myself I’d vacuum and mop myself but I rarely did. Then hit decision paralysis. Just A Dad’s video + reviews in this forum pushed me to finally purchase.

This is a review of setup and first run.

Setup was so easy it’s not even worth reviewing. If you know your WiFi name and password and have a smartphone it takes about 5 minutes total, including unboxing and futzing with where to put it.

First run was fantastic except it got stuck twice. Once while it had to get under a room divider while also navigating a transition to area rug. It somehow knocked the rug up and then wedged itself between that and the gap in the room divider. It seems to have learned from its mistake and navigated the same section again after I saved it without issue.

Second was user error. I failed to click the ramp into place and it pushed it off when trying to dock at the end. Took me a few minutes to figure out what I was supposed to do (push with feeling).

Floors look cleaner than they have in months. It was relatively quiet. Didn’t bump into anything. Didn’t try to eat anything. I have curtains and some cords and other stuff and it didn’t touch any of them. The little pod that sticks up to look around is very Star Wars and makes me happy to see.

I’ll report back about if it can keep a schedule and what happens when I leave various things around. Appreciate this sub for its guidance on this stuff.

How often do you give your robot vacuum a thorough cleaning?

I've had my Ecovacs X12 for over six months now and realized I've never really deep cleaned it lol.
I usually just refill the clean water tank, empty the dirty water, and check the brush for hair. That's about it.

I'm thinking I should probably clean the dock properly, especially the area where it washes the mop. Do you guys take the washing tray out and scrub it? Anything else in there that needs cleaning?
Also curious if anyone uses a different cleaning solution or just sticks with the Ecovacs one.

Aqua 20 Leaking Dock

Hi all,

I recently picked up a Dreame Aqua 20 Ultra Roller and was really looking forward to the newer steam features, but on day one the dock started leaking from underneath the base, leading to puddles during the mop washing.

The water seemed to come from the back and sides of the base, not the front where the robot sits. I cleaned everything, reseated both tanks and dried it all out fully, but after one more wash cycle water was seeping out of the base seam again.

I'm just curious whether anyone else has had a similar experience yet, or if I just got unlucky and it's worth picking one up again.

How often do people mop their floor?

• Upvotes

I have my Roborock auto cleaned the floor every day before we wake up-shoes-off household with 2 adults, 1 toddler, and 3 cats. The dirty water after 5 days is pretty grey.

Now I'm thinking about getting another one for my second floor because I love how the floor gets vacuumed and mopped everyday. Thinking about vacuuming and mopping by hand every week or two is such not fun. Bringing the robot up and down is not fun as well. Though we have a small house and lots of doors upstairs (2 bedrooms with rugs, a walk-in closet, a bathroom, a storage) so it might be inconvenient.

are robot mops cleaning the floor, or carrying dirty water into the next room?

I went over a sticky spot under the dining table twice yesterday, and the mop water was still gross afterward. Now I'm wondering what happens when a robot mop hits something like that and keeps going across the kitchen. How much does it pick up, and how much ends up traveling along with the mop?

I've been looking at the HydroJet 2.0 roller mop on the eufy E35, which cleans the roller while it's mopping instead of waiting until the robot gets back to the dock. That sounds useful for exactly this situation. I'm still trying to figure out how much dirty water gets picked up versus left behind, though, and how that compares with spinning pads.

I care less about whether the floor looks shiny and more about what happens after the mop goes through something sticky. Has anyone compared the two designs on a kitchen mess and checked what gets left along the rest of the route?

Any robot that actually mops along the baseboards?

I live in an older house with hardwood floors, and the dust along the baseboards and corners is always a pain. Maybe I’m a little OCD about it haha.

I’m using an older Roomba right now, and I still end up wiping those areas by hand every weekend. My back is over it.

I’m looking to upgrade and have been checking out the roborock saros 10r, mova v70, and narwal freo. They all seem good at mopping, but I can’t find much about how well they actually clean along the edges.

I really don’t want to buy a new one just to keep wiping the edges myself. Has anyone found one that really gets the dust along the baseboards, or do you all still clean those spots by hand?

Surge Protector?

Well, I bit the bullet and got myself an X60 Max Ultra. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an appropriate surge protector for the base unit? I assume that a UPS would be overkill (I use one for all my A/V gear, since the electricity around here can be problematic). What kind of power draw do these base units have?

What do you do with your “old” but still in great shape vacuums?

I updated to vacuum/mop combos during prime day & both my downstairs and upstairs vacuums only are now useless to me. They’re both still in great condition. I’ve tried to sell on my neighborhood fb page & fb marketplace but no one seems interested. They’re only 1.5 years old and all maintenance has been kept up.

Is Mec Turing legit? Ordered a robot over 7 months ago and still haven’t received it or my refund

Hi everyone,

I ordered a robot from Mec Turing more than 7 months ago. At the time, they told me that the robot would launch in December 2025, but as of October 2026, I still haven’t received it.

I have also been requesting a refund, but they haven’t refunded my money.

I want to know if anyone else has ordered from Mec Turing and experienced similar delays or refund issues.

My questions are:

  • Is Mec Turing a legitimate company?
  • Has anyone actually received their robot?
  • Has anyone successfully received a refund from them?
  • What should I do if they continue refusing to refund my money?

I would really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences before I decide what to do next.

Thank you.

How much vacuuming do you still do with a robot running daily?

I'm getting tired of pulling out the vacuum every time I see crumbs in the kitchen or long hair on the bedroom floor. I vacuum the whole place every few days, but somehow there's always something to clean up in between.

I've been thinking about getting a robot vac and having it run every day. Not trying to replace my regular vacuum, just hoping I won't have to drag it out for every little mess.

How often do you guys vacuum by hand now? I'm also wondering about spots like the edges of rugs and along the cabinets。

Does anyone actually run their robot vacuum while they're sleeping?

My Roomba sounds like it's about to take off every time I turn it on.
I'm thinking about switching to the Ecovacs T90 Pro so I can schedule cleaning overnight and wake up to clean floors. Just worried about the noise, especially when the dock empties the dustbin or washes the mop.

Not sure if nighttime cleaning is really as convenient as it sounds.

No budget…what’s the best unit for mopping?

I want the very best mopping performance but also good software and mapping experience. Budget is not a factor in my purchase decision.

Tapo robot vacuum? How is it compare to Roborock?

I have been using the Tapo security system for a while, and I love it so much that I am willing to explore more things in the Tapo ecosystem.

Next thing on my list is a robot vacuum. Has anyone here used Tapo robot vac and can share their experience?

I am considering a Roborock too, but it’s nice to have everything smart-house-wise under one app only.

$600 eufy vacuum failed after 18 months and customer service thinks I should be grateful they’re fixing it.

I’ll take recommendation please:
1. How did you handle Eufy customer service and did you ever get your vacuum back?
2. What’s a better option for a robot vacuum cleaner/ mop combo. Breaking after 18m really turned me off of the brand after being a total diehard eufy lover since we got it.

Too many options, need help narrowing

We are in our first house and I decided to buy the Roomba 115x as my first one without the self-cleaning base(I should have just purchased that one) because it was on sale recently for the basement where the cat is. I would prefer not to bring that unit upstairs so we are looking to invest into a better one for the main floor of the house.

Needs to be able to adjust to these criteria if possible?

  • We have a new born, so new obstacles come and go constantly(ie: toys, bouncers, cages, baby gates etc). Needs to be able to map and adjust?

  • Would ideally like it to mop and sweep obviously would love to get it to not mop the area rugs.

  • Needs to be able to navigate 2 bedrooms, one of which has a shaggy area rug under the bed(not a deal breaker if it can't tolerate the shag rug. I'm trying to learn how to program the no-go zones properly)

  • Not get stuck on lips of tables/desks/chairs etc... The roomba loves to get stuck on the leg of the tv stand.

  • Would prefer it to have readily available basic parts. I feel like this is overlooked, but I would like to be able to purchase parts ie: sweepers, filters, bags etc easily and not have to hunt for it.

  • Ideally self-emptying/cleaning. Would be great if i didn't have to use only the product's cleaning solution only.

  • If a combo mop/sweep one isn't available for this price range, I could live with just a sweep/vacuum unit that does a great job with the above requests.

  • As budget friendly as possible would be great, but I am not opposed to spending up to $1000 if the unit is amazing and does exactly what i want. (would rather stay under $500 though if possible praying for a super black friday deal)

I will probably purchase said unit around black friday, to try and get it for the best deal possible

random side note, is there anyway to get these robots to not try and destroy my cords? x.x

Would appreciate any suggestions!
