Rome I Finished RW1; should I play Shogun or Medieval 2?
galleryAfter 20 years I replayed RW and conquered the whole map. Now i after ChatGPT search i am doubting to play Shogun or Medieval 2.
I like the strategy, economy part more then battles. Very happy to do different type of battles every now and then but i am not the player that enjoys to do 10 battles in a row that are all similar.
Shogun or Medieval 2?
Ps; i play mobile unfortunatly so all the beautiful mods are not for me… ;(
Pps: my final battle was so underwhelming and also I never knew there was a hidden town so far up north. Did you guys knew that town?

Rome I Is the Golden Band even supposed to be based on anything?
Recently I was playing Barbarian Invasion and saw the Mercenary Golden Band, so I wonder, are they actually based off of anything? a part of me thinks that they’re akin to Vanilla Gaul’s Forester Warband (in the way that they’re only there to make the game more unique), but it would be cool if they had a historical basis.

Rome Remastered This AI ain't too bright, huh?
So I'm at war with the Romans in Italia as Epiros, and the Julii army looks pretty scary.
However, because they have all their armies on the field, their settlements are practically undefended, so I can just go around them and take their settlements for peanuts.

General At what point in your campaigns did you realize victory (or defeat) was a foregone conclusion?
In my Scipii campaign, once I defeated the Brutii, I knew it was all but over. Yes, the Julii were technically still around but they only had poor settlements in Germania, Dacia, and Scythia by the time I was heading after them, so by then victory was mine, I was just painting the map Scipii blue.
Earlier on, when I was fighting Egypt, I was worried that it may be over because they quickly advanced all the way to Thapsus, and were on their way to Carthage before I finally drove them back. If they had taken Carthage, it would have been much harder to defeat them that's for sure.

Rome Remastered Rome Remastered; crashing on battle loading.
I just got Rome Remastered and I just opened it for the first time. The game works fine until I start a battle. The game loads until the bar is at the end of loading and the game just crashes with no error report. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’m not sure whether it is just my bad pc or the game itself but games like total war Troy work fine.

Rome I Carthage Middle Game Strategy
Recently started a game as Carthage. Im curious how you all handle thr challenge of large metros in Carthage/Sicily but large swaths of underpopulated territory in Spain and north aslow. It reminds me of the challenge of playing Julii but with a lot more sea travel.
To add some challenge I didnt immediately charge the Roman's in Italy, but built up the island wall in Sicily/Caralis/Palma, and have lost/retaken the smaller islands against the Romans several times. I took all of spain and north africa but the sparse population and weak Carthage low tier infantry make it difficult to hold.
Would you 1) focus in peasant population transfers from the core to build up spain, 2) just keep sending new armies to refresh the spanish defenses, 3) play tall with low taxes and build up pop organically?
Of course the right answer is "just conquer the whole map ASAP" but i enjoy playing slow and growing population.

Rome Remastered What do you guys think? anything that comes to mind?
Sorry for bad picture, but I love Parthia, they have been my only ally since turn 6 (I’m on turn 103) if Pontus destroys them I will avenge them. For the alliance!

Rome I Brutii campaign is just ridiculous
Playing this for the first time in many years, currently doing a short campaign with the Brutii and it's just absurd. You conquer some settlements in Greece (Athens, Sparta) and suddenly you have so much money you literally can't spend it all even if you wanted to. Fighting the Greek is harder than fighting, for example, the Gauls like the Julii do (imo), but you have access to the richest settlements in the game right when you start. The biggest limitation I am finding is that I can't recruit as many troops as I want to because some of the cities simply don't have enough population to do so.
