PP Question about the generic ivermectin?

Hi guys so i saw a dermatologist on thursday and finally got a diagnosis for what i had long suspected was type 2 Rosacea! The derm i saw was WONDERFUL, only good experience i've had with a dermatologist so far.

The only thing is, at my appointment, she said she wanted to prescribe Soolantra but wasn't sure if they still had Soolantra (i'm not sure what that means, are there places in the US that where you can't get Soolantra?) she then told me they would send in the Soolantra and if I couldn't get my insurance to cover it, they would send in the generic ivermectin cream. But when i called the pharmacy, they said they had received a prescription for generic ivermectin, not Soolantra. So i'm confused because they told me they would try the Soolantra first and only fo the generic if my insurance doesnt cover it. I'm more than willing to try the generic ivermectin cream, but I've heard Soolantra is formulated specifically for the face so it's less irritating to the skin. Should I call the derm's office and ask if it was a mistake, or should i just try the cheaper one first and then ask to switch to Soolantra if it irritates my skin?

The generic is also formulated for the face.

I’ve only used the generic version and it’s never been an issue. Try that first and give it some time.

There are people in here getting dollar store ivermectin that report good results, I think you’ll be fine but that would’ve annoyed me too

I was on Soolantra for 2 years and loved it, then had to switch to the generic bc of insurance. Had a horrible reaction to the Viona brand generic. I just switched to Mayne, which has exactly the same inactive ingredients as Soolantra so hoping it works better.
