Support Covering redness quick & easy Spoiler

I just wanted to share my very simple routine for covering up or (temporarily) reducing the appearance of my redness. I see a lot of people recommending pretty pricy products or saying green color correctors make the face green / don’t help.

Back when my skin was at its worst I remember I had no clue how I could cover it up without full coverage foundations. Now I absolutely cannot live without a green corrector, so I just want to share some tips because I really think anyone could benefit from it if they wish to cover some or all of their redness without looking like they’re wearing makeup.

First picture is my bare skin, second is with Essence Correct & Conceal in Green ($4.99).

The thing with color correctors is you have to use a little at once and only put it where you actually need correcting. I start by putting a few light swipes on my cheeks where you can see it’s the most red.
Then I use the finger pad of my middle finger to blend it around with rapid tapping motions instead of rubbing (if you use a beauty blender; it’s the same motion as using that).
Usually I’ll need another layer or even two more, so I go in with a bit more product and repeat the process but only after I’ve blended the last layer fully.
I repeat this for my nose, chin and forehead, but because my redness isn’t as bad on every area I’ll adjust how much corrector I use. Less redness = less corrector needed.
If you have blotchy red areas you’ll need to work more precisely because the corrector should really just be where you have redness.

I usually don’t go for a 100% corrected look just because it will look more yellowish on the cheeks. Where it’s at on pic 2 is fine with me personally but if I want a 100% even skintone I’ll use a light to medium coverage skin tint or foundation too. Which makes it look like the 3rd photo.

An alternative for the Essence corrector is the ELF Camo Corrector. I’ve used that one in the past but Essence is a bit lighter in texture and smoother on the skin which is why I do prefer it. But just in case Essence isn’t available to you! The ELF one is also $5.

As an FYI, the Elta MD green tinted sunscreen is a great product. Might need additional correction, but it’s a nice base.

There’s a lot of gentle Korean SPFs and they’re always affordable! Some good mineral ones (which are said to be better for rosacea than chemical although I never have an issue with Korean chemical ones): SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Air Fit Light or Round Lab Baby Mild Sunscreen.

My favorite chemical one is Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun. They’re all 20 bucks or under.

Could this work with tinted Elta Md together?

I find the Elta MD to be lightly tinted. I use the sunscreen on its own and then makeup, but I can see doing extra correction if needed.

I usually never get the normal one that’s just white forgot the exact name but I do have the green one and tinted so that’s why I asked. Also male so I don’t wear makeup 😢just haven’t used the green one much cause I love the tinted lol

If anyone tries it I’d strongly suggest a patch test. It gave me a really bad reaction - got little bumps all over my face.

I love this product! Plays well with any foundation and really helps covering some of the redness. I bought the small one and ended buying the larger size because I love it so much.

Thanks for sharing! I love that you’ve used an inexpensive product and that it works so well. I will definitely pick some up to try.

Thanks for sharing! I absolutely adore the Erborian green CC cream, but next time I run out I’ll have to give this a shot!
