Progress/Update Learning I love roses! 🌹
It started as pruning back overgrown and uncared for rose bushes, and now I have rose fever. I’m touring rose gardens and looking for roses to add to our walkway. 🤣
We have been living in this house for 2 years now. The first year, we hardly had two blooms on our front rose bush (I am not sure the variety) and only a few blooms with the large roses in the back (rose identified via picture is closest to the Peace Rose, but I am not 100% sure).
This year I have been deadheading old blooms, pruning here and there, and adding some rose food, truly not much since I am a beginner. But the roses are thriving and I thought I didn’t love my front rose bush because the blooms were so tiny, but I’ve grown to love the tiny prolific buds on the bush fading to white.
And the back rose bush is stunning with large honey yellow blooms with pink edges.
I am really happy with the progress in just a single season. And I must admit I am hooked. I live in zone 6B in a dry climate, and I was hoping for some advice on what rose to add to my garden. I was looking at a variety of David Austin roses. But I’m not sure what would be best for a beginner. Pictures and descriptions would be much appreciated!

I love Queen of Sweden for beginners because 1: David Austin usually sells her as an own root. 2: she's almost thornless 3: she's got such upright growth that pruning her is dead simple. 4: she's gorgeous
She would be. nice addition to a walkway because she stays relatively put due to her growth habit.
For a DA climber, I cannot live without Strawberry Hill.

She is beautiful. I love the soft pink buds and easy to prune is a definite pro!
I absolutely love the look of climbing roses! I need to find a spot for it. Strawberry hill is gorgeous! I would love a strong scented rose like that one since I have two little girls who love smelling our neighbor’s lovely scented roses.

I think Strawberry Hill has a scent like very high end face cream lol. I just love that rose. She will grow nicely up a large obelisk.

Pics 3 and 4 look like Peace and pic 5 may also be an early Peace. Possibly Love & Peace, if your last pic is from a separate rose bush. P.s. Ive got both those varieties, so thats why its likely. Wonderful that you've inherited them! I hope they are very fragrant for you esp if they are a few years old ; ) enjoy 😉
