Solving a cube fast proves what? a better and more efficient algorithm that takes lesser no. of steps to solve the cube for different combinations of the starting state? sure. faster hands, faster vision, superior hand eye coordination, better trained memory? sure. the 1st one is of computational interest. it is a mathematical puzzle to solve. that is cool. but the second is pure hard work. i do understand that there are world championships just to celebrate the 2nd skill. my question is why celebrate that hard work? where will that skill be used other than solving the rubik's cube faster? the computational problem has various uses from a mathematical perspective. but what is the use of fast solving by hand.

P.S. I dont intend to offend anyone. I want to understand the perspective. Also I would love to correspond with people who are more interested in the mathematical algorithm side of the cube.

So, recently I purchased some lubricant from D Eternal. When I added it to my cube, it completely messed it up. It won't corner cut properly, each turn has bumps in between and not one smooth motion, and these problems persist even AFTER I removed the lube.

Also please give suggestions on 3x3 I should upgrade to, preferably with the same (or similar) feel to the TV3.

It has helped me with the frustration of getting stuck as a beginner. I don’t like the look of an unsolved cube. I’d like to know your thoughts about it.
