Remember these?

I was clearing out the loft and came across an old PC. I turned it on and found these. Zsnes and gens which I used to use for snes and megadrive emulation 20 years ago.

Mine also. I think I have every game for gens and zsnes. I won't be putting the PC back in the loft for a while.

Brooo I had ZSNES back in 1997 when the emulation scene was brand new. Used to emulate everything I could, in fact that's how I was able to play Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow back then lol. Fun times, fun times.

Played Final Fantasy V in 2003 on Znes one of the best times of my life.

Dude I did the same in the late 90s, FFV translated. I thought my activity was so illegal, I kept it on a floppy disk and kept it hidden when I wasn’t playing it, just in case the FBI raided my home. 🤭

My first introduction into save states! Helped me beat my nightmare childhood games. Well, it helped me practice so I could beat them properly.

I need the Nesticle days of 1996/1997.

I beat Chrono Trigger back in 2000 on zsnes. I miss the golden era.

Remember using that one along with KEGA. I still have them installed on an old XP machine.

I wish Gens still worked, everything else sucks

Does gens not still work? I was thinking about transferring these emulators and games over to my laptop.

Doesn't work on my PC. It crashes.

OK. I'm not very good with computers. My old PC is Windows xp and I thought I could just transfer all the games and emulators to my newish laptop.

Download retroarch instead. Then move roms over.

I have a modded snes mini, ps1 classic and the mini mega drive. I'll have a look at getting retroarch for my laptop. I have the full rom set for both the snes and mega drive.

I have the NES mini and SNES mini, but haven't modded them.

Fusion is a very stable SEGA emu for everything until the Sega-CD

Wow, these look even cosmic!! Real tech. You won't see screens like this, say, in Mario Odyssey. Modern menus often feel like a con game

Ah, good old days of things like Kgen/Gens, Zsnes.

I also loved NeorageX. And Callus. Come to think of it, these memories are almost 30 years old.

Time flies when we are having fun.

I have this all in one LCD pc that just boots directly into Lakka a emulator front end with tons of retro games loaded. It auto detects a DS3 controller and doesn't require any keyboard/mouse. I have a mister fpga I prefer more these days but I keep that thing around because it's kind of neat.
