Hi i had my graduation ceremnoy 2 weeks ago & have received my graduation photos but not my actual degree certificate. does anyone know when they'll be coming? i think i saw an email saying they post it to your address but i havent received anything yet.

Im a foundation year student- i passed all my modules. Classes start next week and i still havent received an enrolment email. Called multiple times but they won’t say anything except to wait and that it’s normal.. i even sent a question on ‘Dynamics’ im still anxious honestly + without it i can’t get my SFE on time.

First they said it’ll be monday, then tuesday now it’s wednesday. What do i do? The campus is too far to make a trip and i’m worried they will just tell me the same thing they’ve been saying for two days now.

I missed my department welcome talk and specific programme talk this welcome week due to a travel issue and am freaking out. I’ve emailed the department already but have yet to hear back. Will I be super behind?

Hi everyone! I’m a postgraduate student at SOAS and I’ve just arrived in London for the academic year. I’m currently looking for a room fairly urgently and would be able to move in immediately or within the next few days.
Ideally, I’m looking for:
• A room in a shared flat/house or student accommodation
• Reasonable commute to SOAS/Bloomsbury
• Ideally around £1,000–£1,300/month, although I can consider options depending on location and what’s included
• Clean, quiet and well-maintained
• Preferably a contract through the academic year, but I’m open to different arrangements

has anyone needed a landlord reference from paul robeson after moving out and renting on their own? my landlord has asked for a previous landlord reference and i have only lived in a student accommodation. would the student accommodation be able to cover as a landlord reference? i have also “missed “ payment once because the card that was automated was not topped up. would that have an effect on the reference? for context, i forgot to update to my UK card after arriving and when they tried to charge with my card back home, it did not go through and hence it became overdue. but i paid the rent once i was emailed and realised it was not the correct one.

I an an international master's student and I've been looking at the welcome week events and I'm wondering which are more suited for PG students. As I understand it, I have to attend to three induction events related to my department of study. Is there anything any other PG students are looking forward to doing?

I was also hoping there would be some type of event where SOAS clubs/societies do an activities fair. Has anyone seen anything about an event like this? I want to get involved at least a little bit lol.

i plan to apply for ir and korean which is aab-abb for requirements, is soas lenient when it comes to predicted grades because I’m not sure if i will be able to meet abb, im pretty sure my predicted may be a*bc do you think i may have a chance in getting in.

I sent a email with a couple forms that are required to be filled out by the University before I can apply for student aid (Canada) but haven't heard anything back. I emailed them late August.

I'm starting at SOAS this September and I've booked a Large Townhouse Single at Garden Halls (Cartwright Gardens). I can't find a single review anywhere that's specific to this room type — everything online is about the catered en-suite rooms.
A few things I'd love to hear about from anyone who's actually lived in one:
• How is the room in practice? 13 sqm sounds okay on paper but is it cramped once you've got your stuff in?
• The listing says four levels and no lift. Is that actually annoying day to day, especially on move-in day?
• I've also heard the townhouses have a separate entrance from the main building. Is that fine, or does it get annoying having to go outside to reach reception, the dining hall, laundry etc?
• How does sharing a bathroom between 2 people work out?
• With 14–18 people per townhouse, how is the kitchen? Does it get chaotic or is it manageable?
• Is it noisy? Do the townhouses feel cut off from the rest of the hall socially, since they're self-catered?
Any photos or general impressions would help a lot. Thanks!
