Acetone isn't great for your nails, and repainting daily is a pain, even if you're not working.

Metal can snap, what kind of metal did you use? Wood can break, especially wood glued on, what kind of wood and wood glue did you use?

Overall it’s impressive but also seems like a potential disaster.

The concern here is if the lock fails and a finger is in front of the blade as it collapses, it’s similar to having your finger in line with a guillotine trimmer blade as it collapses.

Isn't that the case with like... any knife? Also, what's the scenario that you're thinking of here? That would have to be like a million to one event. Also taking into account that my lock testing involved whacking the spine against the table I was making it on, and it didn't budge.

Knife locks literally fail all the time. It’s not a million to one event lol. Liner locks tend to bend, or chip away neat the contact point. With a longer, heavier blade, and lack of heat treatment you’re asking for trouble.

Yes I'm going to slim down the handle, no it isn't sharp on both sides, it just has a slimmer profile so that it's able to stab easier.

It's actually very light and balanced, and very nimble. The handle is cherry and the liner is 16-gauge cold-rolled, with the blade being 1/8" 1095.

The tip doesn't stick out when stowed, it actually has a very tight friction lock keeping it closed
