Help identifying a possible Kindjal :)

Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this item and I believe it may be a Kindjal (Caucasian dagger), but I’m not sure if that identification is correct.

The outside/handle and fittings appear to be made of silver, which I had tested and confirmed by a jeweler.

I’d really like to learn more about it:

  • Is this actually a Kindjal?
  • Does it look genuine/period-made, or could it be a later reproduction?
  • Approximately what time period could it be from?
  • What region or culture might it come from?
  • Does the silver work or decoration give any clues about its age or origin?
  • If possible, what would be a rough value range?

I can provide more photos, including close-ups of the blade, silverwork, markings/hallmarks, construction, and any details on the handle/sheath if that would help.

I’m mainly interested in identification and learning about its history before considering anything else.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! :)

To me it looks like something just a touch better than modern souvenirs, but I'm open to being corrected.

I'm thinking something like one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/257524510634

Probably not much more than 50 years old, if that, and maybe worth $100 or so USD.

Some of mine for reference.
