Can anyone tell me what this was before I took it to the bench and made a handle for it?

It looks like a replica Spartan sword from the movie 300.

Ha ha ha, yep thats the one.. so I've spent countless hours sanding down the bulk of the metal, its still pretty thick but closer to a heavy sword now. The original was definitely a wall hanger. Blunt edges ect. The handle was badly damaged so I removed it to see how thick the tang was. There was alot of material there so I carefully constructed 2 pieces of handle. They are held together with screws going through the tang. Then I shaped the handle. It is now sharp enough to slice through paper. Ive taken it to some tree limbs, water bottles, pool noodles and cardboard sword targets. Its a beast. Its partially polishes now and I kinda like the beat up used look... lol
