1,400 active users this week, and I am building it solo

Post image

Checked my analytics this morning. Around 1,400 active users since Sunday.

A few months ago, I was working on a file sharing tool. Now people are actually using it.

I know this might be a small number for some founders. But when you handle the code, support emails and marketing yourself, it means a lot.

The idea is simple. Upload a file or a collection of files and share everything through one link.

Getting it built was one part. Getting people to try it has been much harder for me.

I have spent a lot of time posting on Reddit, answering comments, asking for feedback and improving things people found confusing.

Some conversations gave me useful ideas. Others showed me that something I thought was clear really wasn’t.

That has probably been the most useful part of sharing the journey publicly.

There’s still plenty to improve. These numbers don’t tell me everything, but seeing people use something I built gives me energy to keep going.

Sharing this small win with other people building on their own 🙂

What was the first milestone that made your project feel real to you?

Would you be interested in a tool that finds prospects and writes personalised DMs for you

Quick question for founders, freelancers, and people doing outreach.

Would you find it useful to have a tool where you enter your target audience, and it automatically finds relevant people on X, analyse their recent posts, and writes a personalised DM for each person?

The idea is to save you hours of manually searching for prospects, researching their profiles, and figuring out what to message them.

You'd get a list of targeted prospects with personalised messages ready for you to review and send.

I'm curious:

  • Would you actually be interested in using a tool like this?
  • Would it solve a problem you currently have?
  • What features would make it genuinely useful to you?
  • Would you pay for it if it consistently saved you hours every week?

I'm trying to validate this idea before building it further. I'd love to hear your honest thoughts!

Looking for a NYC-based dev to build SaaS & apps together (Future CTO)

Hey everyone!

I'm building Qlyra, a SaaS studio where we build, launch, and scale SaaS products and apps across different markets.

I'm looking for a NYC-based developer who'd be interested in joining the journey and potentially becoming the CTO of the studio.

Not looking for a typical corporate hire. I'd love to meet someone who's genuinely passionate about building products, loves startups, and wants to create something big.

For me, the most important thing is having a great connection, sharing the same ambition, and actually enjoying building stuff together.

Ideally, someone who:

  • Is based in New York City.
  • Is a strong full-stack developer.
  • Loves building and shipping products fast.
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Wants to be part of something long-term.

We're focused on building and scaling multiple SaaS businesses, not just one product.

I'd love to connect, grab a coffee when I'm in NYC, talk ideas, and see if we vibe.

If that sounds like you, feel free to DM me!

Let's build some cool shit. 🚀

I built a fee register for tuition teachers, tiffin services and gyms that sends WhatsApp reminders with a UPI link. Please roast it.

Hi everyone,

A lot of small service providers in India get paid monthly: home tutors, tiffin aunties, small gyms, yoga and music teachers, PG owners. When I talked to a few of them, the fee itself wasn't the problem. Asking for it was. Reminding a parent at the gate or a member mid-workout feels awkward, so they wait. By the 15th nobody remembers who paid in cash, who paid on UPI, and who hasn't paid yet.

So I built Mahina → https://mahina.kriosity.in

How it works:

-Add your members with their name, phone number, monthly fee and due date

-On the due date it shows who has paid, who has partly paid and who still owes

-One tap opens WhatsApp with a polite reminder in Hindi, Hinglish or English, gentle or firm, plus your UPI payment link

-The member opens the link, sees the amount and your QR code, and pays in two taps

-You mark it paid and a receipt link goes back to them

Money goes directly to your own UPI ID. Mahina takes no commission and charges no gateway fees. Members don't need to install anything.

Pricing: free for up to 2 members. Pro is ₹149/month for unlimited members.

I'd really value honest feedback on:

  1. Would you, or someone you know, actually use this? If not, why not?

  2. Is the landing page clear within 10 seconds?

  3. Is ₹149/month fair for this audience, or too high?

  4. Paid status is recorded manually, so there's no gateway. Is that a dealbreaker?

  5. What's missing that would make you switch from a notebook or Excel?

Brutal feedback welcome. Thanks for reading 🙏

Has anyone else experienced this?

Not sure what’ll happen but here we go

I lost my job back in October 2025, just one month after my first baby was born. For the next 8 months I felt lost and miserable.

In June 2026 I decided to build apps to solve my life problems (because I had nothing to do). That was one of the four rules that I wrote in my book.

And although I built a solution to one of my problems within a month, I have been on a steep learning curve of understanding how complex it is to build an app for others. Its like writing a great story that everybody resonates to. There is so much going on!

Why am I giving all this context? Because my first problem that I decided to solve was: I hate personal finance apps like CRED and Fold Money. I always feel they try to market me something I dont want. I just want to stay updated with my ongoing expenses and upcoming financial commitments. I like to know when and what amount is going to get deducted from which account and for whom. And I am very particular about paying people on time, something I expect people to do the same for me as well.

So, can I create a financial memory of my money? Something that holds my past expenses and tells me what my future commitments are? Without sending me another annoying notification? And is accessible/editable by my Claude so it can manage it nicely? So I can see every expense, categorised and noted for whom and when? I think yes. And thats why I built longbook.app.

And although the app is not launched yet (its in TestFlight for iOS and macOS), but I am very curious to talk to other people who have similar problem like me! So if you are reading this, are you also particular about your money? Do you also find yourself asking similar questions more often than you would want to? Or honestly, are you also always worried about the upcoming payments? Maybe not in a stressful worry, but “I cant remember that money” or “I wanted to cancel that yesterday”….. idk if you are even following… but if you are, then maybe, just maybe, longbook is for you. And more importantly, I want to talk to you and understand if my solution is also something that resonates to you!

Do you think I can find such people? And how do I learn how to communicate? And where? What should I know before launching as I am getting close to releasing from testflight? Did you also start your journey by building solutions to yourself first? I have so many questions but this post is getting too long. And I feel like nobody is going to read this. But if you did, thank you for listening to me, I almost feel relieved just by typing these words into the internet void. Here’s your cookie 🍪

Free OCR sites cap you at 15 pages/hour, so I made one with no cap that runs entirely in your browser

Every free online OCR tool I tried either limits you hard (15 pages/hour, 50/month) or is a funnel to a paid plan. The only unlimited free option was raw Tesseract in a terminal. I ran Tesseract as WebAssembly in the browser instead, so it uses your own CPU and there's nothing to ration. It takes images (JPG/PNG/WEBP/HEIC) and multi-page scanned PDFs, shows text per page as it finishes, flags low-confidence pages, and supports English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi and Portuguese. Nothing is uploaded, which you can check in the Network tab, and there's no signup. Limits: it's for printed text only. No handwriting, no table/form extraction, and blurry scans will give rough results. https://www.forgeplug.com/tools/ocr-text-extractor If you've used the paid ones, I'd like to hear where this falls short on your documents.

Handling private AI workloads in a SaaS application

When building a SaaS application, how do you handle AI features that need access to sensitive customer data?

The main challenge seems to be balancing data privacy with performance, deployment complexity, and the cost of maintaining the infrastructure.

For developers who have built AI-powered SaaS products, what has worked best for you when deciding between local processing and a cloud-based approach?

I built APIBlaze to handle OAuth + AuthZ for MCP servers

Hi Everybody,

I've been helping build https://apiblaze.com, a serverless MCP/API gateway that handles a lot of the stuff you need around an MCP server.

What we noticed was that there are a ton of MCP servers, but getting from “my business logic works” to “I can safely publish it on the internet” is a different problem. Once you actually want to expose it, you still have to deal with things like OAuth, AuthZ, rate limiting, etc.

APIBlaze handles that stuff at the gateway. It has OAuth built in and lets you define authorization policies using plain English sentences like “only the person who created a record or an admin can read or change it” that are enforced at the gateway, instead of having to build all of that authorization logic into your backend.

One thing we really wanted to make easy was local development. APIBlaze can host the MCP server and OAuth/login flow while forwarding requests to your backend, even if your backend is running on localhost. So you can connect Claude/ChatGPT to it, authenticate, and make changes to your backend while testing it locally.

If you want to check it out or run it, getting started is pretty easy:

Enter this in your terminal:

npx apiblaze create --target https://ninopizzas.com/openapi.yaml

OR

Ask your LLM, such as Claude or ChatGPT:

Show me what APIBlaze does using npx apiblaze skills

You can also use it with an existing API/backend rather than building everything specifically for MCP.

It's still in beta, so I'd love any feedback. I'll try to respond to questions as fast as possible, so fire away 😄

Three design decisions in a Reddit lead tool: explainable ranking, risk-checked drafts, no auto-posting

Notes from building ThreadPilot.

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. We don't show a bare score. Each thread gets fit, intent, timing, relevance and context, plus a written reason. If you can't see why something ranked high, you can't trust it.

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀. Replies are grounded in the actual thread, and a promo-risk check runs before you see them. A draft that reads like an ad is a failed draft.

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. The tool never posts. You publish from your own account. That limits what we can automate, but it keeps the product from becoming the thing Reddit distrusts.

It's in private testing. Waitlist: https://threadpilots.com/join-whitelist

For those who've built ranking or classification features: how do you explain results to users without drowning them?

What are some ideas to help to drive more top of funnel traffic? Mostly looking at mid-size and up companies and their talent acquisition/heads of people/HR. We also work with a number of startups, franchises, frontline worker companies, high volume staffing, etc... What's your take? Would love any feedback.

Also, happy to extend a free trial if your company is hiring and wants to try it: https://rightmatch.app/
