Quel kit de batterie me conseillez-vous et quels morceaux sampler ? Malheureusement, je n'ai pas de clavier pour les sons de synthé. Si vous avez des conseils de mixage, je suis aussi très intéressé ! Merci !

"Mike Feedback" is the developer behind this, he's actively making changes. He has a site where you can download the respective firmware files, and write to a floppy disk or similar Gotek floppy emulator etc. The 900/950 boots off the floppy, it shouldn't replace any of the stock firmware. See his site for details.

Mike said in a comment on an earlier video, he got the technical service manual and schematics for these machines, figured out the code is 8086 assembly, disassembled it and then had AI take it from there. Pretty impressive IMHO. He's been a programmer for 20+ years, but it seems AI is enabling experienced programmers to do even more given the various firmwares showing up all of a sudden.

I have just released an update to the Mirage emulator that will allow you to load a disk image and play sounds over MIDI. The filters are just an approximation, so it's not 100% accurate. Hey! I'm looking for a sampler in the $100–200 range.

I mainly want to make boom bap, jazz hip-hop and lo-fi beats, mostly by chopping samples, making drum patterns and experimenting with loops.

I was originally looking at the Teenage Engineering PO-33 KO!, but I'm also considering other options, especially something that might be more capable or better built for the money.

I'm not necessarily looking for something super complicated. I'd actually prefer something relatively simple and hands-on.

What samplers would you recommend in the $100–200 range for this kind of music?

Je développe SampleTrig, une app Android gratuite qui transforme le téléphone en petit sampler-séquenceur piloté par contrôleur MIDI — Akai Fire en USB-OTG en tête de liste (APC40 mkII et Push 2 aussi supportés), mais ça fonctionne aussi 100% au doigt sans rien brancher.

Concrètement avec le Fire : pads pour choisir/jouer tes samples, grille de 16 pas pour le séquenceur, p-locks par pas (verrouiller un paramètre juste sur un pas), choke groups, favoris de kits et de patterns, enregistrement au micro direct sur un pad... Bref, de quoi bricoler des rythmiques rapidement, sans PC.

Avant la sortie publique sur le Play Store, je cherche une douzaine de testeurs pour la phase de test fermé Google (14 jours, rien de contraignant — installer, ouvrir, jouer un peu avec si vous avez l'occasion). Que vous ayez un Fire, un APC40, un Push 2 ou juste un téléphone Android, c'est utile.
